  1. Members will vote for their representative should the demand be enough. RST's involvement is the Trust is the legal vehicle to provide a community share scheme - its the raison d'être.
  2. Possibly in normal circumstances. Three times, for example, TBKs were about to become preferred bidders. Third time Brian Kennedy was boarding his jet to to the UK from New York and got a phone call from Whitehouse. BK said, I'm flying into Gatwick but can redirect the plane to Glasgow. He was told to fly into Glasgow because TBKs were preferred bidder. He did, was picked up my Paul Murray and within two miles from Ibrox received a phone call from Whithouse saying CG was PB. Fucked up! Nothing against CG and co, they played a better game! edit: way off track in this thread!
  3. 90%+ of Rangers fans were. More were taken in by Murray. We either learn our lesson and stay vigilant and willing to embrace change or we score points with each other about regarding who saw the light first. The option to get involved and have a say in the club is upon us now. Personally, that's where we can influence for the better. Just my opinion of course.
  4. Because I enjoy a fantasy theory too much. I'd rather, now, let it go and enjoy it. Experience dictates that conformational biased can't be overcome, so instead of trying to overcome something that can't be undone, best sit back and laugh at the madness as Rangers fans try to get one over each other on websites. Kick on, have the digs, froth somewhat, dream up more stuff to undermine Rangers fans. I won't respond further, but I will laugh and shake my head. Have fun.
  5. Add more material for my joke book:P
  6. Don't bite, we know that's littered with bullshit all designed to feel warm and cosy inside. Do what I do!
  7. You not got somewhere to go:D
  8. Protestant Unionist Loyalist Community
  9. Is that correct though? From what I'm led to believe founder investors are in being given shares at .50p, which would mean £11m has so far being invested. But there was around £13m invested back in July. Happy to be corrected.

    Union Bears

This thread saddens me. Nothing against the OP, Edge is of course fully within his rights to express his opinion. However, singing songs that are against people who'd like nothing more than all Rangers fans, including you Edge, wiped off the map should never be discouraged. Yes, the argument for non football songs being sung is there and it will never leave our support, nor will it leave other teams support, but our country, along with NI and ROI, has history. That history cannot be changed, it's part of the culture and one I'm for celebrating. We often say Rangers are 'more than a club'. This phrase is really open to interpretation. Does the phrase make us warm inside. If so, why is that? Because we're so diverse, or because we are unique in Scotland? Most of us celebrate and relate our culture to Unionism and Protestantism. Okay, that's not football but as the club's evolved so has the support where we define one another. Look at Celtic, born a Catholic club, set up to, apparently, protect the Catholic migration from Ireland; now it's nothing more than an outpost for Irish Republicanism. Have we ever wondered why they get away with it? They play the race card, 'we're victims in a protestant country where the Irish are oppressed'. Complete bollocks. Many other countries across the globe hands out free Uni education without discrimination? One of many facts that debunk the myth of favouritism or discrimination. We should be celebrating our culture: Unionism, nationalism, Protestants or Catholics, it's there. Not in any form should we apologise, discard or forget where our forefathers come from. Nor should we ever forget the people who wish us harm, especially due to the fact they're still alive and kicking. I won't be hiding my political feelings any time soon, I won't expect my opposite to do so, however, where I live guilt free is the fact that when I oppose, allegedly, my political enemies it is based on their desire to wipe me out. I don't oppose, I celebrate my culture and the battles we have won. Apologies for the rant but I'm close to being declared as smashed.
  11. Not that I'm the best grammatically, it was communicated to me over the phone so picking up the flaws wasn't possible. Too late now to fix it as it's all over the 'net. Future statements will be fine though. Thanks for the offer.
  12. Word on the street, and I'm not confirming anything, that £8.5m has been registered in one day. *coughs* pledged.
  13. Strangely myself and another poster on here have predicted something like that. Great minds or complete dummies? Egos will be battered, the possibly of the G51 development could be put on hold, current investors could get tetchy, and pretty sure other scenarios could occur.
  14. Shares are not being underwritten. He was asked at the AGM on Friday night and stated so.
  15. Not that it mattered. Fantastic day out, especially driving home hanging out of the car window waving flags and scarves to any of the green and grey persuasion.
  16. Chris Moyles? He's looking leaner nowadays.
  17. Doubt I will serve that length of time. Nearly ten years for the two of them. Kenny's a big miss too but if I was him I'd rather have Lanzorote. The new guys and gals will bring plenty to the table.
  18. Yeag, I edited ian at the last minute there before it went live! Joanne, Sie, Scott S and Scott W, two John's from RSA (Drew replaces them), Kenny P, Claire M. Might be more but the new list has been sent to the web developer to put up. Site's dragging though or I would have confirmed. The board's practically brand new apart form three long term ones. At that, the constitution only allows 12 consecutive years on the board so changes are abound again.
  19. Following our AGM on Friday night, the Board of the Rangers Supporters’ Trust (RST) would like to thank the following: Firstly, a massive thanks to the members who attended on Friday night and helped to make the AGM a great success. Membership involvement is vital to the on-going success of the RST. If you would like to join/ re-join the RST please sign up at the link below: http://rangerssupporterstrust.co.uk/about-the-trust/joining-the-trust.htm We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the retiring board members for their years of hard work and dedication. Their contributions have helped to make the Trust the success it is today. We also warmly welcome the five new board members elected at Friday’s AGM. They bring with them energy, enthusiasm and considerable expertise which will allow the Trust to meet head on the upcoming challenges in what promises to be a very exciting year ahead. The new board members are: Crawford Boyd Lynn Cross Andrew Sheppard Jim Orr Drew Roberton Ian Paton The facilities at Ibrox are first class and in the current climate of reduced revenue streams we would encourage all supporters to consider the Ibrox suites for their functions or indeed the Argyle House restaurant which offers one of the world’s most breath-taking views. Argyle House: http://www.rangers.co.uk/hospitality-events/restaurant'>http://www.rangers.co.uk/hospitality-events/restaurant Hospitality: http://www.rangers.co.uk/hospitality-events Finally, we express our sincere gratitude to Charles Green for attending and addressing the members. Mr Green is working incredibly hard to rebuild the club and we appreciate him making himself available on a Friday night to meet with us all. We hope this is the start of a very strong and fruitful relationship going forward. Especially now he is a fellow RST member. We will update fans in the next week or so with regards to the launch of the opportunity to invest in the Initial Public Offering of Rangers Shares through the Rangers Supporters Society.
  20. The issue is keeping the Trust solvent. I have my own feelings on it and what we could raise with a humongous database but is it viable?
  21. Good idea, and will be considered. Obviously not as simple, as you know, but well worth thinking about. Thanks.
  22. from reading your posts on here, you were at the AGM? I stated during it, by pointing out too, that the current board will never and nor intend to be on the board of Rangers FC. Your post is bang on the money.
  23. Boom! Anyone that's been in meetings with me over the trust's scheme will know how much I respect the power of social media, but also the fact that our support is unaware of fan groups.
  24. ha! I just sent you a PM. Thanks.
  25. I'm not going to argue with your own feelings here, and god knows I've thought along those lines because of the abuse flung at me for no reason. However, what we see and read along with many others isn't picked up by the majority. The internet as a whole from a 'Gers perspective is in its infancy. I was over in Scotland at the weekend where I stayed with an old friend and he knew nothing of the nonsense that goes on and all my old school friends are the same. None of them touch the internet like we do and don't care about the crap we have to read. I got a text with a screen shot that wasn't very nice and when I tried to give him a brief run down, his reaction was who are they. As the internet grows from our perspective, mainly FB and twitter IMO, most won't care, will never get involved in it, and will make up their own minds based on facts presented to them. Just my opinion of course:)
