  1. Am I the only nosey bastard wanting to know the particulars?
  2. Actually, no mate, they're not. Toronto. My geography isn't great on Canada- is Toronto close to Quebec?
  3. After the sour grapes of the referendum I was near singing why don't you go home to two yessers who immigrated from Canada about 20 years ago. Wish I had just to see their reaction.
  4. Like people might feel that you're putting words in others mouth through your own views?
  5. Well said, SBS. We could try all day to figure out why so called fans feel the need to abuse our own and never get an answer. I'm just thankful Billy's got thick skin and great passion for the club.
  6. Your problem in getting a decent crowd is the fact a lot of supporters are sceptical of the fans board. Other than that I can't see why RSCs wouldn't want to try and benefit their clubs. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
  7. A Book a hall x amount of times a year an away venue with an open invite to discuss issues. You'll find the Internet vitriol is not what happens in the real world. The more well known faces in the support would have been 'done in' years ago it real life reflected certain forums.
  8. I agree. Fans having a major say will only come about through the club being supportive. For that to happen, it'll take friendly right minded people to use the official channels.
  9. You know how to get in contact with club's CEO and chairman of the nominations committee, but don't know how to enage face to face with the people you want to represent at games. Hmm.
  10. Contact buses in advance and ask if you can speak with members Stand where buses park and go up and introduce yourself and that you'd like to ask some questions Speak with Bears besides you at games, introduce yourself, ask questions. I done it when in the RST and it was generally appreciated. Not all travelling bears know about you or your role, neither do they frequent the Internet, so your best being proactive in engaging with them. The Bears who do frequent the Internet and travel are most likely to be unsupportive of the new fans board.
  11. Are you going to approach fans at away games and ask direct. Short intro then onto concerns or opportunities.
  12. Before SoS and UoF I felt the three main fan groups making collective statements had better impact. As measure, although crude, any statement put out generated large RTs and likes on social media which reached out to 100s of 1000s of people. Looking at where statements are published now the reach is far less. the following are in our support: Association Trust Assembley RFFF RF UBs TBO New fans board SoS The Assembly, formed to curtail the RST, is an umbrella group which is under the Umberella of the UoF. The RF is a separatist group from the RST regardless of what anyone claims. I saw. I heard. The UB and TBO were together but recently split. The RFFF was and still is a terrible idea which did not help in admin. The oldest and traditionally well respected is the Association but they're behind the times in terms of engagement and profile. SoS are a protest group that has little chance of longevity. My honest opinion is that we only need the RST and a restructured, modernised Association. The new fans board has very little support Toxic, one little man, has beaten us thus far.
  13. I agree on principal with your post but are the tims stockpiling a war chest for our return? Their infrastructure is in place whereas ours needs a complete overhaul.
  14. One of our biggest issues is the lack of communication when disagreeing. There is also the fact that someone always thinks they know better so a new group pops up. RF is a classic example of both points. Moreover, the club has always used conquer and divide tactics against supporters, mainly the strong characters in order to dismiss genuine concerns. Can you imagine all groups leafleting on the same day outside Ibrox in front of 40000+ fans?
  15. When we add everything up the UoF has succeeded where most haven't considering the boycott of STs and general enmity facing the board and the string pullers. However, statements start losing their effect when 1) there's so many to keep track of, and 2) there isn't an actual 'go to' site or person for reference. We have two groups offering share buying schemes, the club begging for STs with UoF saying don't buy STs. Lot of confusion for bears that aren't political minded, which is most. On top of that the groups saying boycott are going game by game on an individual basis. Or in the case of the UBs and TBO, they're going as a group game by game. Both of those groups are now split which further confuses supporters who are asking/looking for leadership. Throw in the Assembly which is part of the UoF, they don't appear to have a place right now but are still on the club's website as an official group. There's no cohesion and we are every bit as incompetent looking as the board themselves. We need to sort ourselves out before we really take on the board or the status quo continues and the ****s win as they are just now. Perhaps I'm past the point of talking!
  16. Heart on the sleeve type of guy. As for ability, his mind is better than his practical ability. So often he's tried cracking, intricate passes to open up defences but the end result lets Jim's down.
  17. I'm fully supportive of them, mate, but it's too powderpuff IMO. Print press might might fire in quotes but having Chris, Mark or Edgar on SSN and STV is much more powerful. Gives fans a better talking point that don't frequent the web. More credible.
  18. Everything said is correct and relevant but are these statement effective in anyway? Without a big hitter or fans gaining a meaningful shareholding we're pissing against the wind. Even a simple blog chronicling the board's actions and putting the statement up would be better than a copy and paste job from word onto a forum. We'd at least have the media citing the blog for punters not fully aware of what's going which would help garner support. Our very own Time4change would be ideal for the job. In the past there'd be MD or Edgar on the telly. Nowadays we have no exposure to where It hurts. It's a poor campaign from the UoF.
  19. He pulls some cracking faces during the game.
  20. Boyd our top scorer and he's yet to score in the league?
  21. The accounts will be ready by now. We all expect a horror story so it's best getting them out and arranging the AGM pronto so the share issue can be completed before the year's out. Wonder if Ashely's £43m purchase of shares in Tesco's will keep him away. The City doesn't appear to be over enthused: Mike Ashley has taken a £43 million punt that shares in Tesco will rise as uncertainty rages around the extent of the supermarket chain’s accounting problems. The owner of Sports Direct, who this year bet on Debenhams share price, has agreed a put option with Goldman Sachs on 23 million shares, 0.28 per cent of Tesco. Mr Ashley said that the investment, which exposes Sports Direct by up to £43 million, said the investment “reflects Sports Direct’s growing relationship with Tesco and belief in Tesco’s long-term future”. Tesco’s shares, which have lost about half their value in the past 12 months, have been battered this week by the retailer’s admission that it overstated profit forecasts by an estimated £250 million. An investigation into the accounting errors by external lawyers and accountants will not conclude until next month, while the Financial Conduct Authority, Serious Fraud Office and Financial Reporting Council are all keeping an eye on events. The scandal has called into question the position of Sir Richard Broadbent, the chairman, who has overseen a string of profit warnings. He has refused to resign. Four executives, including the UK managing director, have so far been suspended. Politicians have now taken an interest, with the chairman of the Business Select Committee telling the BBC this morning that Tesco bosses could be called before MPs. Adrian Bailey called the accounting problem a “stratospheric error”, adding: “[it’s] unbelievable they could get themselves into such a mess.” “We may well as a committee want to look at this. Not just at Tesco but at what is going on in the retail industry and in the relationship with the suppliers to see if the issues we came across two years ago are still there,” he told Wake Up to Money. As uncertainty swirled around Tesco for a fourth consecutive day, the shares fell lower this morning before recovering some ground as investors made sense of Mr Ashley’s latest move. Sports Direct has been building a relationship with Tesco in recent months, taking space in Tesco’s big stores. It is the second time this year that Mr Ashley has risked upsetting the City by using Sports Direct, the retailer he controls, to take stakes in rival retailers. In January, he struck a deal that could see him own 7 per cent of Debenhams if the struggling retailer’s shares fall below a certain point. Debenhams shares have fallen 27.8 per cent since Mr Ashley announced his interest in Debenhams. Tesco’s shares are currently down 0.5 per cent at 195.9p, while Sports Direct is down 0.25 per cent at 658.38p.
  22. Rumoured that the AGM would be announced ASAP so the board gets approval for the share issue. DR either speculating or trying to force the board's hand.
  23. You're not abdicating responsibility of representing bears, are you? I travel to away games, I have an issue with NI not being represented, will you help?
