On a personal note last night was ever so sweet as I realised when Tavernier stepped up to take the penalty that I was sitting in the same part of the stadium 8 years ago when Rooney scored a late penalty winner for Man United. The Rangers we know and love - finally seem to have woken from their slumber.

Absolutely fantastic night last night. The last ten minutes reminded me of atmospheres of old! I hope the gaffer pulls up the media for their player ratings this morning.

If I was the gaffer I’d be making a call to Darren Bent. Give him a few reserve games to get up to speed with a view to playing in the semi.

Me and our kid will be sitting the club deck for a change, I usually go for the Govan Rear but struggled to get two decent seats together.

This Rangers team seems to get better every week. For the first time in years we are able to make a handful of changes without sacrificing the quality. The media are forever telling us that Celtic without doubt have the strongest squad in Scotland in fact some pundits made claims that it would cost Rangers £100m to catch them. Well looking at the following: McGregor or Gordon Tavernier / Flanagan or Lustig Barisic / Flanagan or Tierney Goldson/Katic/Worrall or Boyata/Hendry/Benkovic Coulibaly/Arfield/Ejaria/Jack/Dorrans/Halliday/Rossiter or Brown/Rogic/McGregor/Mulumbu/Morgan Kent/Candieas/Grezda or Forrest/Sinclair/Christie Morelos/Lafferty ro Edouard/Griffiths I would say there ain't much between the match squads.

I actually think Clyde SSB has been rather fair of late. Gordon Duncan is very balanced unlike previous presenters.

Sandaza also went on to have a decent career though mate . It wasn't talent that Sandaza lacked - he just wasn't interested. Kerkar looked like he had never seen a ball before.

Nope Kerkar was worse - Sandaza has had a far better career as well.

Surely that award goes to Salim Kerkar?

As many predicted - we now have lovely bespoke training gear.

For the first 45 minutes we were woeful - but I would argue that in the second half we had enough opportunities to have achieved a draw in what is a very difficult fixture.

This is the model Liverpool operate. Instead of paying a hefty loan fee up front, you pay a loan fee at the end based on appearances. Its not really a penalty as I imagine the club will have factored in that our loanees may not play every game. The gaffer will have no hesitation in leaving the loanees out if they are not cutting it.

An Old Firm game at parkhead is difficult at the best of times. Not forgetting that we had less than two days to prepare, or the fact that we were missing arguably our best midfielder in Coulibaly, or the fact that we had 6 debutants who imo were over awed by the occasion in the first half. Make no mistake Sunday was a bitter pill to swallow but I can only hope it leads to complacency on their part when they visit a packed Ibrox in December. Let’s be proud of our achievements thus far. People like to group ourselves, hearts, hibs and aberdeen together - but when was the last time any of them qualified for a major European competition?

I think it is great for us - raises our profile once again and inflates his price. It also shows other South Americans that you can get a call up for your country whilst playing for Rangers.
