One man who really impressed was Garry Ralston last night on Clyde. He was asking pertinent questions and his reasoning was fantastic. He rubbished the opinion that Rangers were paying players more than they should, he pointed out regardless of the league Rangers are in they are attracting over 40,000 fans a week and deserve to have quality on the park. He also pointed out that having a wage bill of only 30% of the turnover is a fantastic ratio for a club our size - the real question that we need answered is - where has all the money gone? We should be looking to streamline other areas of the business, one thing that continues to impress me is the official Rangers website that was brought in house this should be used as an example. We should be looking at other sections of the Business that can be brought in house (first thing I would do is get rid of Media House). Another thing we should be looking at is extending the opening hours of the Ibrox bar on Matchdays and applying for a license to open for other sporting events or away matches. I really hope Mr Wallace is exploring all avenues and not just taking the easy option in trying to cut the playing staff as that will not help us long term.

"We’ll do well to fill the bench.”

I an Ally fan, but this is not the first time he has made this remark. -
"We’ll do well to fill the bench.”

Your trying to tell me that we should have an empty bench instead of taking a risk with some of the younger players? -
The most frustrating thing McCoist said today.... This is not the first time he has said this; what message does this send the young players?

Quick glance at the squad right know

I think we may also see the introduction of Telfer and Murdoch at some stage this season. -
I think a lot of that is down to our lack of a scouting department. We should be sending scouts to multiple games before investing in unknown quantities.
-
I fully understand your concerns and I think the inflated budget and that McCoist operates with compared to his current competitors only strengths your argument. However I will say this... until he gets to the top flight none of us realistically know how he will cope. McCoist seems to be improving steadily as the years pass. Most of his signings this year seem to have been a success as opposed to "supermarket sweep" buys of last year. I think next year will be a true test for McCoist and I think he will rise to the occasion. I would love to see him bring in John Park and a couple of decent coaches with a good pedigree.

It feels good being linked with players however this does not seem like one we need right now. On a side note - it is articles like that shows that we will be challenging celtic on the first season back, I believe people are somewhat deluded with the notion that it will take years for us to even finish second in the league. We are still the biggest name in Scottish football and players will always want to sign for us.

I have to admit I have not seen anything this season that makes me think he can reproduce the form of last season.

You can if you find a buyer - we just need to advertise correctly i.e.: Emílson Sánchez Cribari - Experienced Brazilian centre half, played in Serie A for over ten years, past clubs include: Lazio, Napoli and Udinese. Steve Simonsen - Veteran goalkeeper with top flight experience, you say jump - he'll ask how high! Dean Shiels - International creative midfielder, special skills include: long range shooting and the ability to beat a man. Kyle Hutton - Apparently played well against Man United... nuff said. Steven Smith - Looking for someone to hand out the oranges at half time? Stevies your man!
-
We just punt Simonsen I say!
-
He can't he has played for two teams this season already and Airdrie don't want him.
-
Get rid of: Cribari, Shiels, Hegarty, Perry, Mitchell, Simonsen, Hutton, Smith - straight away...

The 2013/14 Midseason Transfer Thread

Gunning could be a good signing, although as much as I like Rankin (ever since he scored that goal against them and won me 40 quid) I think he is past his best and would not command a first team spot.- 64 replies

I think we will walk it again next year.

We have played good and bad... But the thing we always do is win. That is good enough for me at this stage. But I expect us to improve again next season.

He needs this, going to Morton should make him realise what he has at Rangers.

If King can get involved I would feel a whole lot better about the situation.
-
John Park??
-
Rangers fan?

I would imagine Lee McCulloch will take a pay cut if needed as I can't see him getting the same salary elsewhere.
-
The fact that King did not come out publicly and condemn the board speaks volumes for me. We can only hope now we know the board going forward Kung can get round the table and improve our financial situation.
