  1. The fact is we have people like Jim Delahunt and Hugh Keevins congratulating this bigot for his relative success in posting inside scoops. When a caller pointed out that the guy was nothing but Rangers hater, Delahunt quickly cut him off - stating that he shouldn't go that far. In order to nip this in bud the club had to act.
  2. But we must not get carried away - as after all Dunfermline are in the same league as us. The next game could be the real test.
  3. It must be hard to motivate yourself week in week out in a league that is all but won. Let's not forget how good some of our preseason outings were. We have the players but lack the motivation week in week out.
  4. Well said Super! Although we do have two semi finals.... apparently that evens it out..........
  5. Man for man our team is better than any SPL team on paper (except celtic). The only worry is that we would not be up to speed with a too flight teams pace.
  6. I would have thought £2m would have been acceptable for Wallace given our situation.
  7. He hasn't been released - the OP was stating what he would have liked to happen.
  8. Best club in the country right now. As for biggest that will always be debatable.
  9. Could in time replace Jim Stewart as the goalkeeping coach...
  10. According to Stv we have rejected two offers from Forrest.
  11. Wallace had the chance to move to the championship and receive a big signing on fee when the rest jumped ship, the fact he has a young family and is the coach of his local amateur team I can't see him leaving.
  12. According to Ally - he has struggled with injuries, I fully expect to see Templeton involved for the remainder of the season.
  13. Sorry never noticed the other thread... Some scary assumptions...
  14. People are missing the point. Cutting the player budget is a short term solution. Which in my opinion is short sighted as it currently stands at 30% of our turnover. Fans of other clubs are desperate to see us struggling to compete on the park and are trying to push the message we need to live within our means. Well the 30% figure suggests we are already living well within our means on the park that on the park... We just need to stop the money disappearing off it.
  15. I have been reasonably happy this season. We have played well on many occasions and managed to grind out results when we have been poor. I for one expect us to up our performances next season resulting in us walking the league again.
  16. Again missing the point - the problem is not the player wage, its everything else. Being in the SPL does not generate that much more revenue than we do currently but we will need a much better level of player and in turn a much higher wage bill. In order to do this we need to streamline other areas of the business.
  17. People are missing the point here... Its not the players budget or a pre match hotel stay (not required IMO) but the financial mismanagement in other areas. If our wages bill is £6m a year and or turnover is close to £19m (I believe) where else are we over spending? Why are we not doing the little things right? Why do we not license Bar 72 for the whole Saturday to increase revenue after the match? Why do we not publicise things like Stadium tours and Venue Hire correctly? Why do we not play u20 games in the evening and charge people to come along to Murray Park? There are countless things we could do better and cut back on - but people tend to focus on the playing staff - which in my opinion is rather short sighted.
  18. But would 40,000+ fans turn up to watch a team full of kids struggling week in week out? Would they renew their tickets the season after? We need a certain level of player to keep fans interested and attract today's youngsters to the games - instead of sitting at home watching "super sunday"
  19. It is beginning to frustrate me that many journalists are continuing to spread the "Rangers cannot afford to spend this much on players in the 3rd tier" line. How many clubs have a player wage bill of 30% of their turnover? The question is not the wages - what we really need to know is where the rest of the money going?
  20. People need to realise Rangers are only spending 30% of their turnover on player wages... 30%!!!! That is a great ratio!! People want to see us slip like an Aberdeen or a Dundee United but that will never happen.
  21. I think this may come back to bite us... I think an SPL team will snap him up next season. But we do not need him right now.
  22. You could add do we need Jack Irvine and Media House to that list...
  23. As I said in another post - if pay cuts is the best proposal Wallace could muster; then we are in serious trouble. We need to think of improving our revenues and cutting non essential - non playing staff.
