That is a very simplistic view. As for Halliday - I am big fan but the reason he was captain is that he was the obvious choice with Wallace being out, Miller being on the bench and even Kiernan (who has captained the side before) being injured.

It is strange but even now I can't help but like the guy. I genuinely think he gives everything he has to win. I also find it hard to persecute him without knowing what exactly happened. Additionally Josh Windass' comments pre match showed that the players would welcome him back if he was to get a second chance.

That is fair enough mate. My thinking is that he just can't become a bad player over night and to be honest I think there is a lot of revisionism going on in regards to his performances. He has not been as bad as some would have you believe.

Does the club not give second chances? He is being punished - if he comes back after 3 weeks and wants to make a go of it then I would hope our club would be willing to move on and work together.

I get the feeling Barton fancies himself as a Souness type revolutionist - possibly not convinced by our managers constant plan A tactics. It is a shame thing have gone this way - because an on form Barton sitting in front of a back 4 is a very good asset.

3 weeks off without training - he won't be fit enough to contribute for the rest of the year. Really crazy situation.

I always found it strange that Barton despite being our marquee signing - never did any pre match press conferences or participated in the post match reactions on the official site.

I still think Barton could come good. I really hope he knuckles down and leads by example.

If McKay scored at 2-1 it could have been all so different. The Senderos sending off killed the game. I still think we can challenge this season. If today's game was at Ibrox I think we could have won. A lot of players still have something to prove.

Can't disagree more - with budget we have and the players we have brought in we should finish at least second. You can't use the fact we have been in the lower leagues as an excuse as half our team have just arrived.

Not forgetting the "Celtic have recruited better" line I have been hearing daily. Do people forget we have signed experienced players like Joey Barton and Niko Kranjcar. Or the fact we have just invested £1.8m in Joe Garner. If Celtic had signed Barton and Kranjcar I would have been gutted.

I just don't get all the hype that surrounds them. They were lucky to beat Hearts and nearly chucked the game away against St Johnstone. Not to mention they lost to the Lincoln Red Imps and just scraped through their last Euro tie. If we can click on Saturday I think some people may be in for a real shock.

With the players we have - I would be tempted to play a 4 -3-1-2 (not all games) Fod Tav Senderos Kieran Wallace Halliday Barton Windass Kranjcar Waghorn Garner With McKay, O'Halloran, Miller etc able to come on and shake it up a bit.

That is not exactly true though. Arsenal had a big say as to where he went.
