I really like Warburton but the way he handled the whole Barton situation - made me start to question if he has the character to be a Rangers manager. Walter Smith would have punished Barton and welcomed him back into the fold but the whole indefinite suspension strikes me as petty. I never saw the game yesterday as my wife and I were welcoming our first son into the world however when I read the teamsheet I was baffled by the selection. Could the change of formation be a result of the reported "debate" at training? Was the change in formation a managerial decision or was he pressured into it by the players? I still think we have enough in the locker to finish second (by some distance I may add) but with no Kranjcar or Barton in the foreseeable future we have no quality players that can help us push Celtic this season.

Another poster commented 0 that he had heard that he is out for a while. However the Gaffer did not mention it to the press so it could be nonsense. I wonder if he trained this morning...

The situation is a shambles

It has been 5 weeks now and still we have no idea as to what has gone on. The club extending the ban at the last minute was very poor in my opinion. Surely everyone can move on for the good of the team.

The lack of information around the ban is frustrating.

As this whole episode drags on - I become less annoyed with Barton and more concerned at the lack of information about what actually happened. 5 weeks suspension is huge and we have no idea what it was for.

We should roll out a banner with a list of their misdemeanors with the last line saying "Who are the real huns?"

I believe we are starting to see a bit of revisionism in regards to his performance in the Old Firm, people forget - Joey played the last half hour as a CB. In regards to the dressing room - Neil McCann made the point on Sky that to his knowledge he is well liked by the players. We have had a bad start to the season but to solely lay the blame with Barton is scapegoating at its finest.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe he is due back next Monday. What is the general consensus on here in regards to his future? Many have been quick to turn on Joey - with a lot of fans keen to play the "I told you so" card, however part of me still thinks he could come back and prove us all wrong. I think a (4-2-3-1) With Halliday and Barton in the engine room - with one of Windass/Holt/Kranjcar (depending on the opposition) playing in a more advanced 3 could be a good system. Thoughts?

This celtic team is not as good as people think... The have enjoyed a bit of a honeymoon period with their new manager, but... they will drop points this season.
