The fact is we are going to have a share issue - if Ashley wants to put money into the club to maintain his interest then fine. We will be in no worse state than we are now.

Dembele who?... -
LIFTED FROM FF: For all the talk of slow starts and all that, I decided to compare this season's first 13 games to the rest of our season's in the top flight since the arrival of Souness in 1986. I've put them all as 3 points a game (it was 2 points a game up until 1993/94). Here's they are (out of a possible 39 points and slower starts in bold) Graeme Souness 86/87 - 28 87/88 - 21 88/89 - 33 89/90 - 24 90/91 - 25 Walter Smith 91/92 - 31 92/93 - 32 93/94 - 19 94/95 - 26 95/96 - 32 96/97 - 32 97/98 - 28 Dick Advocaat 98/99 - 26 99/00 - 34 00/01 - 25 01/02 - 30 Alex McLeish 02/03 - 35 03/04 - 32 04/05 - 30 05/06 - 22 Paul Le Guen 06/07 - 19 Walter Smith 07/08 - 28 08/09 - 30 09/10 - 28 10/11 - 34 Ally McCoist 11/12 - 35 Mark Warburton 16/17 - 23 If we had beat Aberdeen then we would be equaling Advocaats first season...

It's a bad day when one of our own is buying into this lie mate. Having the second biggest stadium is one thing, but if you look at the average attendances home and away over the past few years we are top. We have also sold out out yet another home fixture.

Would it not be better playing against the cream of your age group instead of scrapping away against the likes of Annan, Forfar etc?

This is not a normal business. Clubs sign players to intice fans to invest in the product. People bought season books expecting to see Joey Barton. They deserve to get some explanation as to what happened. They don't need to know the ins and outs but the club could add some clarification. A small statement explaining why they felt the need to handle the situation as they have would suffice.

Some sort of transparency is needed - give an example of this happening at any other club in recent times?

Complete Shambles
-
Not true - he did after all sign Diouf and a troubled Gascoigne.
-
Because he wants to win. We need a player like him - we are far too nicey nice. A poster in the know on FF has stated that he never said anything that many players weren't thinking. If Walter Smith was in charge he would have been put through hell in training for a week then back in the team. This has been a shambles from start to finish.
-
He has been made a scapegoat
-
It's games like this (where we are kicked off the park) you start to think Barton would have sorted it out.
-
Oh don't get me wrong I would have done the same. However - in hindsight his career is starting to go into free fall and I can't see him ever playing for a top club again.

The lad should have become a doctor. I remember an article years ago saying he had the qualifications to study medicine but opted to sign for Rangers professionally.

This is a mess

I wonder what Lee Clark said to the gaffer at the end for him to say thank you. -
The Scottish Media will be raging that we haven't hit form... yet here we are on second place. I can't wait to watch them start to squirm once everything really clicks.

I have a funny feeling he will be welcomed back into the fold. We need experience and he can provide it. -

I suppose I am slightly nostalgic due to my age in regards to Ferguson - I also have similar nostalgic memories in regards to the Ibrox atmosphere. Nothing seems to match the Parma game or the group stages against Strum Graz, Monaco and Galastasary! -

There is not a Scottish player at this moment that could lace Ferguson's boots! I am 30 this year and I can easily say he is the best Scottish player I have seen in my lifetime. -
Agreed - although I don't think he fits into our system at the moment. It's worth noting he was a scoring sensation in League 1 in England - which is around the level of the lower half of the SPL. He did however struggle when promoted to the Championship. He may well come good though with a team predominately on the front foot.
