Rangers are Disappointing Me - and I want us to be better
Waltersgotstyle replied to RiverBear7's topic in Rangers Chat
On a semi related note - look at the behaviour of the Union Bears in comparison to that of the Green Brigade... yet Rangers are always the bad guys in Scotland. -
Compare today's performance to that against Burnley last year. Last year we looked like boys chasing men - fast forward to this game and the likes of Alves, Cardoso, Dorrans and Candieas all shone against a very very good Marseille team. Tav also gets a special mention as he kept Payet quiet all afternoon. Oh btw where's JohnMc this evening...?

He is the manager of Rangers Football Club - he should be treated with respect for that alone. If you have a problem with you boss you deal with it accordingly and in private. Some of these players are lucky to still be here in my book.
-
The ironic thing is that he was actually his first roll.

Interesting comments endorsing the manager, hopefully helps the manager command the respect that he deserves.

Welcome to forum Bill! You will enjoy your time here, IMO this is the best Rangers forum around.

Miller shook his head every time Herrera made a mistake. -

I'm not going to argue mate, I am willing to give Pedro the first five games of the season before calling for his head. In terms of the new signings Cardoso looks solid, Pena has so far shown some neat touches and Herrera was denied by a wonder save. Alves will also be a welcome addition to the team that is for sure. We controlled the first half however made many changes in the second half to really judge. -

I'm watching now - and so far I'm not seeing anything too worrying. -

People now saying it is "when" not "if" in regards to his replacement. Sad times indeed. -
I see Whittaker is in the paper this morning mouthing off about Hibs target this year. Since when did any team "aim" for second?!

No quality, no bottle, no Progrès - Should the manager be sacked?
Waltersgotstyle replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
I would be very surprised if it is true. One thing that Pedro has been praised for in his previous roles is his man management. If it is true I would draw parallels to Dick Advocaat and his Dutch contingent as opposed to PLG. If i remember correctly there was a lot of talk around dressing room splits when there was an influx of Dutch stars. Also in regards to player quality - the arrival of Alves and Dorrans should signal a distinct rise in quality. -

Better managers have had worse starts. Let's reassess the situation as we go in to the first Old Firm game. -
A fantastic post from FF: I wouldn't disagree in an ideal world. But Alves and Dorrans are multi-million pound players that we have managed to get by fortunate circumstance. We simply can't afford today to fill the team with such players as we will not get cut price deals for all. Morelos is a speedy positionally acute goal scorer. Coming from a lower level and perhaps a gamble but we simply can't buy a proven player of this ilk. Celtic's fawned-over strikers were failures down south and they've gone through a large number of failed gambles. Morelos seems a reasonable spin of the wheel. Who else would you have gone for? Aberdeen are very unlikely to sell us Rooney and would you really have wanted Boyce or Moult? I'd like new full backs. Hopefully we'll get at least one. I'd prefer it to be a permanent deal but, if a loan is an upgrade then great. We've rebuilt our whole team this close season and spent more than we have in probably not far off the last decade. If the well is running dry then we have to accept that. We've not been treated badly by the board this summer. Remembering that the team humiliated last week is nothing like the team that will play at the start of the season (even without more transfers), we cannot judge much yet. Will we be strong enough to beat Celtic? I don't know. It's a big ask. We could. If Morelos makes the jump, Herrera is international class, Alves sorts our defence, Dorrans brings his A game and Pena is worth the hype. I think there may be too many 'ifs' but we should, on paper, be a hell of a lot closer than we were. Our absolute requirement is to beat Aberdeen. Remember we ran them close last season with a very inferior team. Is Alves better than Kiernan? Is Jack better than Halliday? Is Dorrans better than Holt? I think none of those are close. Is Pena better than Forrester? Is Herrera/Morelos better than Waghorn? For those ones, I've not seen enough of the new guys to know but the bar is pretty low. I don't think we have a winger better than McKay as yet (and Walker is at a similar level rather than upgrade in my opinion). And our right sided forward remains problematic though we have all the same options that we had last year and some extras. So, overall we have an upgrade. And, in my opinion, quite a considerable one. While Dolly has weakened. I want more but accept where we are and would struggle to complain too much. Give me Walker, a starting wing back, and a competent player for the right attack and I'd be unable to expect any more. And the rumours are that this is exactly what we're trying to get.

I think we play Kilmarnock today behind closed doors.

So - EBTs were not illegal period. Their only argument was that we were spending money we didn't have to gain an unfair advantage... What about Manchester United spending £75m on Lukaku when they have close to £600m of debt?

I really hope the embarrassment of that result will drive us forward this season just like Kaunas did for Smith Bratislava did for Strachan -
The year Juninho played: 1. Rangers 2. Celtic 3. Hibs 4. Aberdeen

Think I am just going to hide away for the forseable future. The country is about to go bonkers.
