  1. Rangers transfer target Gabriel Obertan wont be allowed to leave Manchester United on a loan move.

Ibrox boss Walter Smith was thought to be planning to ask close pal Sir Alex Ferguson to

provide him with the services of the France Under-21 forward ââ?¬â?? whom he also tried to land in January ââ?¬â?? on a season-long loan.

Smith is keen to obtain the services of some top young players from Englands leading clubs and Obertan was one of his top options.

Rangers have loaned players from United in the past, with Lee Martin and Phil Bardsley both moving north of the border during Paul Le Guens short time as manager.

Obertan ââ?¬â?? who cost United Ã?£3million from Bordeaux ââ?¬â?? made his first-team debut for United last season, but is unlikely to feature regularly for them next term.

However, its believed they want to keep him at Old Trafford and have him working closely on the training ground with the existing first-team players to help prepare him for the next step.

Obertanââ?¬â?¢s agent, Karim Djaziri, revealed: ââ?¬Å?Gabriel is going to stay with Manchester United next season.

ââ?¬Å?We spoke at length with the manager and the club at the end of last season and there wasnââ?¬â?¢t any intention of him being loaned out to another club.ââ?¬Â

Not fussed anyway wasn't totally sure of the newspaper reporting especially from the Daily Mail ;)

  2. I'd take him. Played very well against Mexico with a particularly fine goal.

I was lucky enough to see his goal as I had just finished my football, left sided player what we need wouldn't be too expensive seeing as he is based in South Africa iirc. If he keeps up his form then we have no chance.

  3. I agree, I don't think there's much between them, but I think 5M is a more realistic price. I have no idea how on earth Hearts managed to get 9M for Gordon. I think it was just one of those lucky situations where the manager really wanted him and was willing to pay whatever it took.

Gordon's had a very good season and is rated highly down there, although I'm sure I read somewhere that Bruce wasn't his biggest fan.

If Mcgregor does fancy a move and we could get 5M or so which would be reinvested in the team, I'd take it at the moment.

It was Roy Keane iirc and his transfer dealings have been laughable.

  4. There's no argument for Gordon being better than McGregor imo. In 3 years at Sunderland, he's never had a whole season as number 1. Hypothetical but i just couldn't see Shagger regularly dropped for months on end for Marton Fulop

Gordon had loads of injuries and Fulop kept his place because Gordon wasn't fully fit.

I would happily take between £5m-£6m for McGregor as he still probably has some baggage.

  5. All the videos of Aaron showed he had something special but Walter for his own reasons didn't play him. He hasn't really done it at Celta Vigo either. Wish we stuck with him this season although the transfer fee this season would have been too much for one player.

If Ozil keeps up his form Bayern will probably come calling, unless he is not keen on them then one from the Spanish top 4 or English top 4, maybe Italy as well.
