You do have to worry about the long term of Scottish football though. Them not making it into the group stages gives us extra TV cash but the SPL rankings is going to drop every year and maybe in 2 or 3 seasons the champions of the SPL will have to qualify for make the CL.

Isn't that going to be the case anyway? I'm sure I heard mention of that last year, that this was the last year the champions got straight into the group stage.

What Juffery says is correct. The winners of the SPL have to qualify albeit an easier route as the SPL winners will play champions from Bulgaria, Hungary and likes. Although recent European performances mean that will be a struggle.

To cap it all, they were booed off the park for bad sportsmanship.

Think he does mean Bougherra. He has been intiching for a move since the start of his career with us. If Stuttgart get �£10m for their defender then they can pay us �£7m for Bougherra

Umbro, JJB - both terrible pieces of business. The club went on about the reductions in costs when the JJB deal was announced, but the income is also noticeable too.

 

There hasn't really been a massive difference to the club's balance sheets since JJB deal. The really big difference has been the quality of product on offer to the fans. Primark has better quality of merchandise,ffs.

 

Edit: Two years before the JJB deal started, Rangers merchandise income was the 2nd biggest in The UK and 5th in Europe. It just goes to show the JJB deal was lazy.

I agree with everything you say there. I hope there is some sort of clause to get us out of the deal with JJB. As this deal seems to entail we must take one of JJB's kit desginers and Umbro are the best out of a bad bunch. Champion iirc is another. Otherwise we are stuck with them for another 5 or 6 years .

I have only bought 3 kits since we went to Umbro. One at full price then 05/06 one seeing as I was going to Norway for a year had to show it off. The other 2 I bought on the cheap. I like most if not all the kits for 07/08 but I didn't get any.

His wife is from the North east iirc. Don't know why he didn't sign for Sunderland seeing as they offered a 2 year deal...

I wouldn't mind if we stretched to �£3m provided there would still be more available for a good winger.

I think that Rapid Vienna are being too optimstic with prices. Only recently we lost 2 players with a year left on their contract for �£2m, maybe bad business for us but that is the max I feel we should offer them, no matter about our finances or Rapid finances. I do want this player and he scored a few against the tims (which helps) but I don't want us to splash loads of money on just one player.

I am being negative in the hope that I am proved wrong. So I went for a shitey loan signing I just feel negative at the moment new season coming up no new players in and nearly August. 6 players gone, fair enough not all of them to everyones tastes but at least most of them were squad players.

Interesting, saw them score against France but that was looking like 2-0 going on 12.
