    I don't think there is any real long term nature of these signings. Diouf will go back, Bartley will go back and Healy might sign on for a season or 2. Beattie might come back.

    Keep seeing rumours of Webster to Hearts. 2 points: 1) Why would we let our rival become stronger with him, I know JJ and Walter are friends but that isn't right 2) Why would Webster go to a team that he has taken to court and Romanov would not want him. It also looks like he might go for a permanent move, according to STV.

    I thought we might get some money from Adam moving nothing happened, yet, and probably too late. The price I've been hearing is steep and could net us a 7 figure sum if indeed true. Never heard of Bartley, a youngster and from Arsenal that is all I know. Will he even play? I can see him being used a full back.

    How about we just get linked with all SPL and EPL players as that only seems to be happening, obviously to late to go abroad but seems rather narrow minded when looking at players as these player now will be on huge wages and the farcical transfer fees going about makes it worse. McDonald's a bloody midfielder I don't think we need him.

    So Liverpool are going to spend �£58m on 2 new strikers that are hardly proven in the EPL, oh dear overinflated and overrated league imho.

    The lack of other targets frustrates me. We only seem to be looking at British based players and this market is very overinflated at the moment. This isn't a board issue as such but I agree with you about Beattie and his injury problems I said that when he was linked and eventually signed, and his age he is 32. It will take longer for him to recover than say a 25 year old. We only seem to be after journeymen nowadays and they are in their 30's and we are very short sighted with our signings. We aren't looking at players in their mid 20's anymore it frustrates me and worries me.

    :me: for me. If Jelavic got a bit more service and not long balls punted towards him he might have had a good game. He has some great control it seems but it isn't being utilised properly.

    I thought bans were immediate regardless, especially with yellow cards as they can't be appealed.

    Ness should have started seeing as McCulloch has a 3 match ban. It was a strange choice to play McCulloch today considering the ban in place. It should have been Ness and Edu today so that they can gel together.

    We can hold out for good money for Edu contract is until 2013 with us but, as ascender says load of tosh.

    Ach Well just looked on the BBC website and Torres hands in a transfer request. Ultimately these requests are futile, as they are usually always turned down, they are only saying a player wants a move.

    Their first bid was just under �£13m as well. What a hike in price and clearly shows that they want him, however I still think Torres might stay they new owner might have sanctioned the transfer fee.
