  1. No interest in them, wanted us to get to the latter stages of the Europa League, well after Christmas. That hasn't happened and I am extremely disappointed not to even to the group stage, also the Malmo result was a shocker but they were the team I wanted to avoid along with Genk. I had hoped we would get through that tie but the next round would have been a struggle and then be in the Europa League group stages but it never worked like that.

  2. Maybe other countries train longer than we do? Don't we only train for a few hours in the morning then players can go home or wherever?

I would love to do what they're doing for a living but to have the best facilities available to you would be even better, I would make them train longer with a ball at their feet, practice corners, free kicks, moving off the ball both offensively and defensively it's not too much to ask for from these overpaid sport stars is it?

    Probably another issue is boozing.

Our Set pieces are woeful I think we need some foreign technical coach to add something different from the rest of the staff.

They probably goto the gym after lunch but after that I would say the players are free obviously we can't over work the players and double sessions wouldn't work.

  3. This kind of highlights the disparity between England and Scotland.

We sold a young player with Champions Legaue experience, plenty of 1st team games under his belt and on the verge of an international call-up for 2 million (possibly 5 mill, but not definite)....

Meanwhile Arsenal pay 17 mill for Oxlade-Chamberlain....

Yes, I know they play different positions but that is a MASSIVE difference, probably partly due to positions but still, we let ourselves get raped at times with transfers - hopefully that will change with the new regime.

League 1 player last season as well... baffling. Also baffling Wenger spends that on a teenager but doesn't spend it on experienced players, I know Chamberlain is talented but that fee is quite extortionate.

    Mata £23m, Lukaku £20m, Aguero £38m ..... :(

Anyway the money in England is just sickening. The only reason we got a measly amount for Wilson is his contract situation and our own financial situation I think we got a reasonable figure, if he was around now it would be £5m at least upfront no add ons to make it up to £5m. If he was at an English club he would be at least £10m and he was near about the first team.

  4. What's the story with Beattie??? I must have missed it.

    The usual, injured.

We do need 2 strikers imo, especially when 2 of the 3 strikers aren't really favoured (Healy and Beattie, if fit) and Hemmings too inexperienced but now injured for months so we need to be fast otherwise teams wont sell to us because they don't have enough time to replace their player. I actually fear it will be loans from omitted EPL 25 man squads and not sure if they add anything unless they come from Man City or the likes and City etc pay most of the wages. Plus No I would avoid Diouf, the Diouf from Man Utd might be interesting.

  5. This guy could have been worth punt at the time for peanuts from Dundee i think Ally will bring in a more experienced striker before the window, but we should keep an eye on him to see how he progresses in the future.

I agree it was worth a punt 6/12 months ago but if he progresses then Wolves will be quids in, paid £200k-£300k (I think) and would end up worth £5m + if he does eventually break into the first team even if he doesn't do all that great, EPL inflation etc.

Personally I'm not really wanting him on loan, doubtful he would break into the team and if he did increase another teams youngsters value. We need strikers but would prefer to buy than loan.

  6. They're not that good. Maybe on a par with us? They got pumped out the CL qualifiers at the same stage as us.

I think they would beat us, they came up against Rubin Kazan who are former 2 in a row Russian Champions (2008 and 2009) hardly an easy tie. Plus the Ukrainian season wouldn't have been far in and Rubin's season is, if you want to play that card which people seem to do with us against Malmo.

  7. I do remember we had 3 0-0 draws in a row with 3 sending offs in that sequence. I still feel that this game is crucial otherwise people will get on Ally's back, probably Walter was slightly under pressure in that sequence a couple of seasons ago but a rookie gets it a whole lot tougher.

  8. I believe McCulloch had a knock for last weekends game and he didn't play. I guess that knock might have been worse than he thought and might not have told the management but surely the physio could get a good summary of the situation.

I do agree that McCulloch time might becoming to an end we have youth such as Ness and Hutton who are equally capable and more mobile. However he has 2 years left and might still have a part to play within McCoists mind even though he is bringing in more midfielders.

  9. I'm not impressed so far but it's a bit harsh to judge so early. At the end of the day thats what managing a club the size of Rangers brings. Find it strange that people pick teams and have both Bedoya and Mckay in them. Personally I have never even heard of either player so cannot judge how good/bad they are and certainly wouldn't be pitching them straight into a starting eleven!

Well currently Edu and McCulloch don't work and we don't have much choice seeing as Fleck, Wylde and possibly Hutton aren't favoured then they will be in or around the first 11 immediately.

  10. I agree with you Craig we have very experienced defenders in Goian, Bocanegra and Weir and inexperienced players like Bartley and Perry. No Middle ground both with age and experience, 2 extremes so to speak.
