  1. Did the Celtic board really refuse to spend ? Serious question because it seems to me that their squad has been ever increasing whilst ours has been decreasing in size. Admittedly they had the likes of Ledley signing up on pre-contracts but did they not also spend a bunch of money on Hooper Wanyama, Murphy et al ? Serious question because I dont think it is clear cut in either direction.

They have spent but they haven't spent £4m on a player since Broon iirc. They are ever increasing their squad but their wage budget is probably £100k-£150k a week larger than ours. They also have the sale of McFanny which saves them.

Agreed, sitting top of the league is no guarantee we will win it, yet it seems to be enough for you to suggest McCoist is a failure. OK, maybe not a failure, but you are "not impressed up until now" - so sitting top of the league, 4 points clear isnt good enough ? Fair enough, and I can see why - we should be further clear but not one team will go through a season without a poor spell.

For me the football post November international break has been very poor from us. Also European results still irk me our opponents got a grand total of 2 points in the Europa league from 36 points.

I would have gone through the rest of your post but too lazy :P

  2. Walter's net spending in the transfer market in his 4 and a half seasons was relatively small though pete. If he'd got good money for Ferguson, Adam, Miller, Boyd and others who were released and sold his net spending would actually have been practically nothing.

    Its more than you think.

  3. If I was manager I would happily get rid of a lot of players but you can't do it in January. I would shift max 3 players and probably try to take on 2 or 3 max. The summer is best to get everything done.

I would shift. Healy, Kerkar and one of three from Ortiz, McCulloch or Broadfoot. Harsh on the last 2 but yeah don't think they have much to offer McCulloch legs are gone and Broadfoot is probably not my type of player to have in a team.

  4. I dislike Steve Kean and he is showing real ineptness. His interviews are pretty poor a deflection on his own managerial skills and his sides inability to defend saying we should have done that, we should have had this, we should have scored there etc.

However tonight was too far from the fans, but the owners really need to look at themselves why did they give him a new contract with better terms? Costing themselves money, idiots Its probably to do with him going to India every mid week, nobody would be silly enough to do that either especially mid season.

He has won 2 matches this season, drawn 4 and lost 11. His whole tenure is 7 or 8 wins in 38 games, Blackburn aren't a great side but they are a usual mid table side.

  5. Without guys like Naisy and Jela there to put chances on a plate for him, Boyd will struggle. If we lose Jela then we'll need an all round striker to partner Lafferty.

As I said earlier in the thread he was scoring goals in a less creative Kilmarnock team. He also did alright at Nottingham Forest, their fans seem to want him as well.

  6. At 41 I think he'd be better jacking in playing asap. If I was him I'd jack it, take a long holiday with the family and get into coaching sometime in the new year.

Got to agree should have probably called it a day last season. I would like him to get a send off not to disappear out the back door.

  7. He must be good prospect as they do seem pissed off with him which is why he's not been in their squad for a while. WBA have offered more money than what they would get from clubs up here which is why they would rather he went down south and they also hate dealing with us it seems. Heard all the rumours that he's a Blue nose but we've heard all that before, but it's nice to see we're interested in good young Scottish prospects.

Also the compensation figure will be low if he joins us.

  8. Tbh he isn't well liked down Dundee Utd's way, Houston has had a go at his agent. Their preference would for him to go to WBA, as they will pay cash now, however its a catch 22 situation if he joins them at the end of the season then they owe Dundee Utd nothing. If he has been treated like shit then he might he might decide to go elsewhere.. Also they might freeze him out and hinder his progress if he joins us they wouldn't if he went to Celitc

He is a free, well a tribunal will settle if he agrees a pre contract or if say we want him now we sort out a fee.

Also add to the fact we have 100 hundred midfielders, shame Shinnie never made it but yeah I will not say....
