  1. Call me mean, pragmatic, or cynical, but if we let Lafferty and Whittaker go, the impact on the squad would be minimal right now, the financial "gains" noteable. Both will probably not play again this season, Lafferty is up to 6 weeks away from training and sure not fit enough to play again before May (according to the Rangers media folk). Whittaker ... well, we have cover. I do think that there will be a public outcry if we sent the wounded folk away though, no matter whether it makes sense for the admins.

Whittaker has a resale value, others don't, also the redundancy package would be quite large considering he has a long contract. The administrators won't really care about the playing side, they are their to save the club not cost it more money. The likes of Aluko, Kerkar, Healy, Papac and possibly the likes of McCulloch and Broadfoot will go.

Don't find it logical myself dB.

  2. The fact this was on PPV and I was not going to the pub tonight, I watched the England game. I would much prefer to see Scotland but yeah, after the Cyprus game where the Cyprus fans were all dressed as seats they probably had to sell it to who was willing to splash the cash. They wouldn't get many viewers also friendlies like that one, they don't exactly interest me, higher ranked teams yes then maybe. USA in the summer would like to see that.

  3. I have been saying for years that the Ajax youth system was not near the model that people seem to think it is. They are light years behind Feynoord, in fact I believe they were only classed as 7th in Holland. I don't think Robin van Persie ever played a first team game for Feynoord but he did come through their youth system. Also don't forget that the grass root system in Holland is far superior to that in Scotland. What Rangers will also have to do is also be on the ball with players who are available on loan from all the big clubs. Feynoord loaned John Guidetti from Man City this season after he had already had an agreement with FC Twente but the 19 year old has really been brilliant this season. To be honest I think Koeman is a little over generous saying 80% of his team have come through the youth system. I would say it is less than that.

    Mulder;-youth

Mokotjo,- Didn't really come through their acadamy he was scouted in South Africa and loaned to excelsior

    Vlaar,-Az

    Martins Indi,- Youth

    Nelom;-Youth

    Clasie,- Youth

    Bakkal,- Loan from PSV

    El Ahmadi; Twente

    Schaken, VVV Venlo

    Fernandez- Excelsior

    Cabral.-Youth

    5 from 11 is not 80% I would say.

After the highlights of our game on the BBC website there seemed to be an advert with whats gone wrong with our Scotland's youth system, there isn't the players they used to be etc. They goto Germany (Werder Bremen) which I find a bad example seeing as its so much bigger than us or looking at the German model again feel its too far ahead to look at.

Hosted by Jim Traynor :(, might give it a watch though.

  4. We also have a barrel load of youth coaches, not sure they are all totally needed. Scouting network, well the less I say about this the better.

Tbh I could see Papac, Aluko, Kerkar, Healy going as they have less than 6 months and we could lose them for nothing anyway, also Bartley. Not sure if we are allowed to offer contracts anyway.

  5. Many worse than Whittaker, ok he has been woeful since signing the new deal, same could be said for Davis and slightly to McGregor. However recently Beattie a prime example of a much worse financial deal especially with the cash we had available and wasted it on him.

  6. I'm pledging £500 and I'll throw in any proceeds the Club can make out of my ex. Haven't asked her mind you!

Would have been more serious if the fan groups had asked for realistic commitments to monthly payments - say in multiples of £10 per month. I do think that a) for the majority, and b) with regards to long term future planning, that concrete commitments of £120 to say £1200 per annum would in the long term be more sustainable and realistic.

Furthermore, it's a bit pie in the sky. There's no teeth in this. Do you get a vote? Multiple vote? What kind of governance? What's to stop fans with the best intentions making an arse of it?

This is a one off opportunity and one off chance. If this fails, a lot of fans will not back Plan B.

At least there should be some kind of policy statement.

Just what I think, mind you.

Other thought is that this will be hacked big-time by arses with the downfall of our Club at heart.

    Again just what I think.

Agreed about the hacking part but you have to weed out the very unrealistic commitments. Also look at the emails and names they give.

  7. PS It seems to me that if no-one buys any season tickets in the next three years, and instead everyone does pay as you go, Ticketus will no longer have any claim on RFC for a single penny and will have to go straight to CW's secured company for the money...

More costly for a fan over the season I would presume?

  8. Fair points Jaun but I would have gladly taken decent' date=' tidy and quick to release the ball in any game this season above slow, one paced, sideway passing and long balls....[/quote']

That doesn't seem to fit with the ethic of our management team, same with Fleck, ball playing midfielders need not apply.

  9. He will get this season and leave, or be asked to leave, or not get his contract renewed. Really a pishy time to be a manager of our club but even without the problems that have surfaced we weren't doing great. He needed to do a managerial job away from us. He is a Walter clone but can't seem to get the players up even though today would have been tough for them but the crowd was there to cheer them on.

  10. That is an absolute belter.

I dont want to go off topic, but we should have kept the wee man and saved us James Beattie's transfer fee. He would walk over hot coals for this club would wee Nacho !

Defies all logic, replace a younger player by an older one for a transfer fee as well :(.

Also if you missed it Nacho Novo now has joined Legia made a thread about it. Bizarre, fatty boruc old club and all.
