  1. I can't see Wilson leaving in the summer. Any serious interest from England would only come in January imo.
  2. I don't see how. You claim Mendes was a failure yet he quite clearly contributed more to the club than Naismith has, and probably ever will How long can people play the 'he had a bad injury' card with regards to Naismith? It's not like he was magnificent before the injury and it's not like he's just recently back. He's been fit for over a year! I also think Walter has done him a favour by playing him wide as i don't believe he's remotely good enough to play centrally for us given his lack of pace
  3. It's a tough one for me Wilson simply cannot be kept out of the team by a 40 year old next season. He has to be first choice. Weir is still capable of another season but i'd rather it was as backup, and i don't think he'd agree to that
  4. I know a lot of people presume Webster will come back here but i don't see it myself. If we're still under present ownership, we'll desperately try to get him off the wagebill again. If we're under new ownership, frankly we need better defenders than Andy Webster
  5. If new owners are in place, i'd rather we used Beasley's wages on a more suitable player. Beasley, like a few of our players, would be so much more suited to a 4-3-3
  6. I can't see him staying. Unlike Novo and Broadfoot, we haven't even discussed a new deal with him which says a lot.
  7. 18 starts, 9 sub appearances He started pretty much every game until December
  8. Naismith has scored 2 goals in 27 appearances this season so to suggest he would offer us 10-15 a season is very wishful thinking. 2 and a half years into his Rangers career i just don't see any kind of serious argument for suggesting he's been anything other than a total flop at £2 million. If we were to try and sell him, we'd be incredibly lucky to get £500,000 right now
  9. How on earth can Mendes be deemed a failure but Beasley and Naismith be deemed moderate successes? Naismith is arguably the worst reasonably expensive (say anyone who cost between 1 and 2 million, rather than big money flops like Lafferty and Flo) signing we've ever made.
  10. Expect a few days of the token 'we still believe we can win the title' stuff
  11. I'm a rarity amongst my group of mates in that i don't particularly care about Europe, i don't get really annoyed after European defeats (well i did after Kaunas but not after CL group stage defeats) and all i care about is being the best domestically. Walter Smith has turned us from cerca 15-20 points behind Celtic when he took over to 13 points ahead of them inside 3 years. Thank you sir.
  12. Is that the real cover? Looks a bit........shit
  13. Bougherra and Papac ahead of Weir and Shagger is just wrong
  14. Have re-read his post and i'm still sticking to my interpretation of it
  15. Anyone else feel we're gearing up to them point blank refusing to play one of their games?
  16. I don't understand how you can say the award is beneath contempt because Ricksen won it? From September 2004 to March 2005 he was easily the best player in the SPL. His form only dropped when Hutton broke his leg against Kilmarnock and he returned to right back for the rest of the season. He's not a player who is remembered particularly fondly, rightly or wrongly, but as a central midfielder he was easily one of our best of the last ten years. Very Davis-esque in the 04/05 season.
  17. Rangers 4 (Whittaker, Miller, Boyd 2) St Mirren 0
  18. I think 30 games a season is too few (unless they plan to introduce a split and end with teams playing 37 games? doubt that would ever work considering either us or Celtic would end up playing 2 OF games out of 3 at home)
  19. McCulloch is very much in the mould of his mate Barry, slowing play down at every opportunity. We don't need this type of midfielder in 50-60% of our games Lee deserves a lot of credit for his performances this season but it will be a disgrace if Edu doesn't start at the weekend IMO
  20. McCulloch, despite having had a fine season, should not be first choice anymore IMO Top 6 opposition - Thomson and Edu in CM Bottom 6 opposition - Thomson and Davis in CM However, Walter is very loyal to Lee (blind loyalty in the second half of the 07/08 season where he was anonymous game after game, but loyalty which has paid off this season) and i can't see him dropping out of the team, as much as i believe Edu and Thomson would offer a lot more
  21. Surely only 2 visits from the OF in a season instead of 4 would be enough to put certain clubs close to the edge?
  22. She's an absolute hound aswell
  23. David Weir, for me, is the finest individual to grace Ibrox since Richard Gough
  24. We were linked with Don Hutchison in the summer of 2001 when he was leaving Sunderland but he ended up at West Ham and we moved on to try and sign Seth Johnson
  25. We're nowhere near as good as we were in 2002/2003 but how could we be considering the players we had back then? I certainly believe we're better than last season though. Less silly points dropped (since September anyway), more goals scored, less conceded. I also believe that the departures of Ferguson and Mendes have helped us as their 'partnership' was very very disappointing and their departures have allowed McCulloch and especially Davis to shine a lot more than they did in the past
