  1. McGregor 4 Whittaker 5 Papac 5 Weir 5 Wilson 6 Davis 7 McCulloch 6 Thomson 6 Novo 6 Boyd 4 Miller 5 MOTM: Davis by a mile
  2. Sorry but i really can't fathom those who are giving it the whole 'stop being fickle, we can't win every game' routine We were 3-1 up At home Against a very average team Not winning the game was totally unacceptable, and being 13 points clear in the league changes that not a jot. Now we have yet another game to fit in, just 3 days after a cup final, at a ground where we notoriously struggle. Remember 2 years ago; 3 days after winning the cup we were held to a draw at Ibrox by Partick Thistle. Our treble hopes are in the balance here, and it's all because of the disgraceful mentality of some of our players after the 55 minute mark yesterday
  3. I'd say it's more of a case of 'when Weir and Wilson play together there is far too many cracks at the back' Wilson is a very talented young man but he and Weir are not complimenting each other anywhere near as well as WEIR/Cuellar or Weir/Bougherra
  4. Substitute "the way we've played" with "the results we've had" We have only played well in a handful of games since December and occasionally, like today and against Hamilton, it comes home to roost It wasn't a disgraceful performance or anything but the players thought it was over at 3-1, started with the party pieces and long range shots, and were made to pay for it Also, whilst he wasn't blatantly at fault for any of the goals, i thought McGregor had an absolute horror show
  5. Boyd was having an absolute nightmare. Ball after ball was bypassing him and going straight through to their goalkeeper or out for a goal kick. Lafferty actually looked quite lively when he came on
  6. Treble or no treble, i am utterly sick of this Scottish Cup campaign. It was an utter disgrace how the players just stopped playing when we went 3-1 up. The defence was a joke and Boyd's performance wasn't far off joke status too.
  7. Just one random example; a mate texted me the other day saying '£65,000 a week for Robbie Keane and Steven Whittaker has scored more than him!' as if that makes any kind of sense
  8. Regardless of how many points behind they were then, and how many points they're behind now, to say that a player who has scored 8 goals in his last 6 games has been a waste of money is ridiculous. If they had 11 players of Keane's ilk, they would absolutely coast the league. I wish our fans would stick to ridiculing their players who have actually been a total waste of money (there's only 9 or 10 to choose from....) rather than the constant shit i keep seeing about the man who is almost single handedly keeping their hunt for any kind of silverware alive
  9. The league would definately be already over if they hadn't signed him
  10. I seem to be getting sent text messages every day about what a waste of money Keane is but the reality is that he is quite clearly a step above this league and for our own benefit, i really hope that Celtic can't afford to keep him
  11. Anything other than Davis winning POTY and Wilson winning YPOTY will be ridiculous imo
  12. I didn't mean Barry couldn't adapt to actually playing in England, but that he found it strange playing for a small, unambitious club whose cup final was against Burnley As for Bougie, £4 million is a bit low. I'd say he's probably worth around £6 million
  13. Once you've become used to winning trophies, it can become difficult to adapt to playing for a middle of the road club with no real chance of honours. See Barry Ferguson as one example. Cuellar and Boumsong jumped ship before they'd won the league title, so part of me thinks (hopes) Bougie might only be prepared to leave for a club who could realistically challenge for honours, and thus would turn down sides like Sunderland
  14. Keeping him next season makes little sense unless he signs a new contract. If he stays next season and ultimately has a year left on his contract, we'll be lucky to get £3 million for him
  15. The only way i can see this happening is if the takeover is complete and as a signal of intent, we offer new contracts to Bougie and Davis, or at the very least tell them they won't be leaving for at least another 12 months Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra has reiterated his desire to remain at the club after starring for Algeria in this summer's World Cup finals. "I'm happy. Everybody asks me but I've two years left on my contract and am going to enjoy them. I hope I can win the title again," he told BBC Scotland. "At the moment I don't have this (the thought of leaving) in my head. When I signed for Rangers my life changed. "It's fantastic here for me and I hope to do it again next season." Bougherra joined Rangers from Charlton in 2008 on a four-year deal and has enjoyed a successful partnership with David Weir at the heart of the team's defence. In recent years, Ibrox defenders Jean-Alain Boumsong and Carlos Cuellar have made quick departures to the English Premier League after impressing in Scotland's top flight, and there has been speculation that the Algerian would follow the path south. But speaking on Chick Young's World of Football on BBC Radio Scotland, the 27-year-old centre-half dismissed the notion. Listen to Bougherra on Chick Young's World of Football Asked if he had a message for Rangers supporters, he said: "Thank you for everything, but I don't say this because I am leaving! "The fans have been very good to me and have pushed me to do more. "On the pitch when you feel the fans behind you, you give more. For footballers, when the fans love you, it's fantastic." Bougherra's career has taken off since arriving at the Govan club. He said: "I have won trophies, with Algeria we qualified for the World Cup and got to the African Cup of Nations semi-final, and there's the Champions League." The player hopes to be fit to face Dundee United in the Scottish Cup on Sunday, after struggling to recover from a hamstring injury sustained in the recent Old Firm derby. Bougherra was a guest on Chick Young's World of Football At stake is a place in the semi-finals and the chance for Rangers to continue their quest for a domestic treble. With a 13-point advantage over Celtic in the league, Bougherra acknowledged that the Scottish Premier League title is within reach. "Our destiny is in our hands," he said. "I think we need five or six wins so we must do our best in these games and we'll be champions." At the end of the season he will join his Algerian team-mates as they prepare to take on England, the USA and Slovenia in Group C. Bougherra will be tasked with keeping Wayne Rooney at bay, but this will not be their first contest - he was pitched against the striker in his first game for Charlton, but lost the match 2-0. "At the moment he is the best. He is the top scorer in England and in the Champions League he showed that he can score with headers - he has everything," said Bougherra of the England star. And the Rangers defender believes Fabio Capello's team are one of the favourites to lift the World Cup. "It's a great chance for me and the players to see if we have the level to play against these big players," said the Algerian. "Everybody is ready to show Algerian players to the world."
  16. He is quite simply on a different planet to any other right back in the SPL, especially Hinkel and Broadfoot
  17. They'll probably take the complete cowards way out and schedule it for the final day of the season
  18. Dry your eyes Keane you rebel swine
  19. I still don't believe he's anywhere near good enough for us
  20. I wouldn't say i'm overly confident about this game. Could see us dropping 2 points easily enough.
  21. Will the 'Arsenal are preparing a £10 million bid' line rear its head again?
  22. Not publically anyway. Jeffries claims Hearts have made him a "fantastic" offer, which could well be out of our range, more fool them if they're paying players over 10k or whatever "fantastic" means these days
  23. Not keen on Tonel myself. He's 30 years old and although that's hardly old for a defender (as Davie Weir proves) he'd have absolutely no sell on value. We should be looking for another Cuellar or Bougherra. I would've liked us to go for Goncalves of Hearts.
  24. If Bougherra leaves will we finally sign Tonel or Shittu? They seem to be the only two centre backs we're ever linked with, and it happens every transfer window
  25. McCulloch should never, ever be considered for CB again after his absolute horror show against Unirea Thankfully Walter seems to agree
