I hate that 'every game is a big game' counter argument when people rightly say that Boyd generally doesn't do the business in difficult matches. 1 goal against Celtic in a career spanning 9 years is pathetic and there's no justifying it. I honestly cannot possibly see how he can be a success in England, especially considering how few chances Birmingham create for their strikers.

I think the smiley would suggest a bit more than that lol
-
So long as Boydy gets a good career move, to hell with Rangers eh?
-
How does one get into the article writing malarky anyway? Was always too scared to ask on FF
-
He's not exactly brilliant but we can't afford to lose players of his ability on Bosmans
-
Another crazy stat for you: Boyd has only scored 3 more goals from open play this season than Kenny 'Misser'
-
He's very very lucky that we have no strength in depth anymore. The power he currently holds over the club and the fans is crazy for such a limited footballer. I'd imagine the vast majority of our fans don't even have a clue that he's only scored 2 goals (plus 3 penalties) in his last 14 games.

Doesn't deserve a new contract, nor do i think he'll be offered one The scary thing, though, is that as it stands, our squad for next season reads: GK - McGregor, Alexander DR - Whittaker DL - Papac DC - Webster, Bougherra, Wilson MR - Davis ML - Naismith, Fleck MC - McCulloch, Edu, Thomson ST - Miller, Lafferty, Velicka, Little

It would help if he was fit once in a while

St Johnstone 4 - 1 Rangers: Player Ratings and MoM Poll
Dr Preston Burke replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
It's trademark Lafferty. He runs past people and because Boyd can't do it, you get fooled into believing he's actually a decent player. But he always ends up giving the ball away or falling over. No end product whatsoever and he can't muster the basics of being a footballer (though neither can Boyd, outwith one pretty important aspect....) It's crazy to think that i was really excited about Lafferty at the start of this season, and i know a lot of other people were too. He had a great end to last season and scored a wonderful goal in August in Poland for Northern Ireland. But to have played in over 30 games this season and only scored in one of them is disgraceful and i can't recall one positive performance from him, outwith possibly the first half away to Unirea One thing i will ask though is; in 2 years at the club how many times has he got the chance to play up front alongside Miller? If it's more than 3 or 4 i'd be totally astounded -

Oh and i can't possibly put forward a man of the match. Naismith for making me laugh with his crunching tackle on the touchline on Duberry, maybe. Lafferty must soon be up for some special award for the amount of horrific performances in a row? I was actually embarrassed for him last night. -

Benitez is the worst manager in Britain at nurturing youngsters. Not one young player has got anything like a run in the first team under him. Would be an awful move for Wilson.
-
We've been selling McGregor in every transfer window in the last 3 years if you believe what you read online Alexander has said he'll consider his future in the summer if he isn't going to be first choice I want Tuffey to get a good move because as a Northern Irishman, i'm very concerned about the future vis a vis goalkeeping considering Maik Taylor is 38 and his only backup play for Shamrock Rovers and Partick Thistle

Celtic Management hilarity thread
Dr Preston Burke replied to Jim White's topic in General Football Chat
The media would hail him the Messiah but personally i wouldn't care in the slightest. His Blackburn team was just a bunch of thugs who kicked the opposition off the park. -
I hope it's postponed. Just reschedule it for the weekend of the SC Semi finals
-
Ideally we would let Davie ride off into the sunset, Bougie would sign a new contract, and we'd go into next season with Bougie and Wilson as first choice and Webster as backup However, i highly doubt that Bougie will be here next season and in that case i'd rather Weir stayed
-
It's very premature to start proclaiming this after one game. We heard the same thing after he scored on the opening day against Falkirk and earned a penalty at Hearts the following week.
-
We experienced the same thing with Frank de Boer, though to be fair he wasn't on 65 grand a week
-
2-0 Miller and someone obscure, i'll say Jig

Hearts 1 : 4 Rangers - Player Ratings and MoM Poll
Dr Preston Burke replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Davis seems to play well in spite of the position we play him in rather than because of it. I really hoped that when Mendes left it meant Davis would only play central midfield from then on but it is difficult to drop McCulloch or Thomson, i understand that. I do wonder just how good Davis would be if he played a whole season in central midfield. I think he'd run riot. -

McGregor 6 Whittaker 7 Papac 6 Wilson 7 Weir 8 Naismith 8 Davis 6 Thomson 7 McCulloch 6 Miller 7 Boyd 6 Naismith MOM I think 8 for Davis is pushing it; felt he was pretty anonymous for a lot of the game -
Hope you're not an arse, Bandit Welcome!

Quite possibly will be Whittaker's understudy at right back next season if Broadfoot leaves (i personally wouldn't even bother offering Broadfoot a new contract)
