  1. I'd direct you to a poster on this board's reactions. One W Smith.
  2. I'd say that was pretty obvious, but it doesn't make it a happy marriage.
  3. This is the first time I've seen this flyer also. I did hope the initial flyers that were drawn up weren't used. Glad to see they weren't.
  4. Profit is still profit whereas this is not loss as such as its payments that were always due to be made. I think....
  5. Was £9m also mentioned at the AGM Frankie? I know it was mentioned yesterday and have no doubt it's the correct figure now. I was just sure I heard a lesser figure in October. No matter. So, while the debt may not have reduced dramatically, is it feasible to assume that over the next 6-12 months we will see this happen given that we will not have these 'player payments' to pay in installments? Boss indicated last night that £25m ish would be an expected figure for the summer's debt.
  6. I'm fairly certain that this figure was announced as £7m at the AGM. Is this as simple as players were bought and arrangements were put in place to pay them over a period of time but we have now gave the clubs the money up front? I'd be quite interested to know exactly which players makes up the £9m, I don't suppose thats something that gets specified though.
  7. Quite a quiet day after Tuesday's drama's. Lots to chew over today.
  8. Read some comments from AJ with interest today. If we win the league we may be in a position to do things in the transfer market. Bosman signings were also mentioned a few times. It seems short term and long term strategies are being put in place and not before time. I'm not sure how feasible it is for us to reduce our costs to such an extent that we are still able to maintain competitive in seasons where we HAVE failed to make the Champions League.
  9. It just wasn't the same without you yesterday...
  10. Cheers Walter. Bring back the cardigans.
  11. Yes mate. He scored two and we lost 3-2 in the Scottish Cup. I thought a Boyd stat would have been doubly up your street
  12. A wee stat especially for Super_Ally... Has scored in 86 separate games for Rangers and we have only lost ONE of them. What a statistic that is.
  13. So £25m there or thereabouts. Whats your personal thoughts on that? A decent years reduction without very much impact or must do better?
  14. On Clyde he didn't condemn the protests and he didn't give them a green light but he said that supporters are right to feel concerned and act as they see fit. Thoughts on that?
  15. Wouldn't that be including in the June accounts? I realise you've said it's deferred. Is there a reason why that happened and does it happen every year? Do you expect Bluedells valuation to be truer in June 2010's accounts?
  16. Some excellent points raised on this thread. It's nice to see people not 'burning the witch' and not professing everything is rosy in the garden.
  17. A poster on FF and RM called elfideldo has an excellent website focused solely on our youth players. http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/
  18. Bluedell - Aren't season ticket sales taken into account in June accounts? Are you expecting a £4.5m loss even with that?
  19. I think if we have taken into account the 'costs' of the CL in this period then any credits will be included despite us having not received them yet.
  20. Thats where we need to be. I wouldn't say we would be close to profit or even breaking by winning the league and gaining entry to the CL this season. This seasons fairly massive reduction in debt as a result of CL money and player departures (it could go down by as much as £10m since the summer) can't be sustained again in the summer without any impact on the team.
  21. I think the expected figure at the END of this season was approximately £25m. Judging by these figures, it appears we may not be far off that mark right now, 6 months ahead of plan. With no great amounts of income until the next set of accounts in June, I would still expect it to settle around about this mark, possibly a couple of million lower. Fair comment, Bluedell?
  22. Stirling does look good. Him and Ness are suffering from playing in such an important position (and therefore more of a risk to put them in straight away) and the players in front of them such as Davis, Thomson, McCulloch & Edu. Laudrup1 gives an excellent review of the players.
