Perhaps my superb sound system is better at filtering out the background noise and distortion, leaving the main artiste exposed in all his vocal and vocalised glory...."for every fiver" that sort of thing.....:spl:

It is my misfortune to have caught Spiersy on radio Clyde, his attempts to throw light on the Ibrox situation are lamentable, but at least he distanced himself from the tabloid rabble DK, DJ and others of that ilk, however he still peddles the nonsense that MIH/Murray shares are worth not a lot, where will it all end.........with SDM riding to the rescue ?......that is something no one could make up....unless the story-smiths know better.

I doubt I will ever have to ask directions from a policeman , but there again perhaps you really do believe Minty has been impotent and is impotent in this sorry saga.

So we are basically where we were before this drama began, we have a chairman in the mould of McLelland, who has no idea of the asking or selling price of the club, a very strange state of affairs. I see Murray's fingerprints all over our Chairman's utterances of yesterday, I must admit to a wry smile, when it was suggested AJ had broken ranks and backed WS. As I see it he basically told us what we already know, that nothing will come to fruition without the say so of SDM. AJ may have been better keeping his own counsel yesterday, figures which when left in their raw state pleased everyone, now are a matter of conjecture and debate. I have said previously that the whole affair is blown out of all proportion and I stand by that, Rangers are a healthy going concern, who were only ever in danger of going under from the weight of groundless nonsense from stories in print and other media sources, where are the peddlers of " Murray's shares are worthless he will get a pound for them a flea in his ear and sent on his way" step forward DJ and DK. The sooner these types report fact as opposed to fiction, we might all be more informed, or informed to the extent that the Mint thinks is good for us. ETA. As for the price to buy who knows my own guess will be in the region of £100 mill.

Is it debt or a rolling facility, AJ's interviews would have been hard to have been bettered by the master of waffle himself SDM. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hugh MacDonald, Chief Sportswriter 0 comments Published on 17 Feb 2010 H MacD: Why has the debt not been published? AJ: There is no requirement by the plus markets to declare your debts. That is not to say we are trying to be crafty in any way. The debt levels are impacted by cash and cash availability and our debt to Lloyds Bank is actually not a debt but a line of credit. That means it goes up and down day by day according to our requirements. Our only obligation is to reduce that line of credit by Ã?£1m a year. There is not a whole lot of incentive, in all honesty, to reduce the debt. There is an incentive to pay off the players [transfer fees] that we haven’t paid for in previous years. At the end of last year we had Ã?£9m of player debt to pay for players we have acquired in previous years. We have been able to pay almost all of that off with the cash we generated. That is particularly satisfying, because these are the issues that go under the radar. What is your message to the fans, particularly the ones who have strong feelings over the presence of Donald Muir on the board? Right now, we need Lloyds Bank who have been supportive of us. The bank is certainly disciplined and it does not want to be exposed to archetypal football club practices of buying players and not worrying about the next day. It does not want to be dealing with fans’ reactions, either. I am hopeful that the bank will continue to be collaborative in negotiations with potential owners who have an ability to invest in the club. I would hope too that it will be reasonably more flexible on the business plan that both Walter and I are concerned about. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Clarity you gotta be kiddin. http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/spl/rangers/the-next-10-weeks-could-define-rangers-future-an-interview-with-chairman-alastair-johnston-1.1007305

TBH mainflyer I have never really believed that what the fans think makes one bit of difference to the main players, I wish that was different but our history won't support that luxury. Time may be our allie or our enemy, but we the fans will be a very small cog in a very big clock.

Thanks for the reply NL, no you wouldn't have conversed with me on RM I tend to keep my posts for here, it is a lot more civilised than any other site I have known, Frankie keeps it that way, we can disagree to disagree here and no harm done. As for the club I wish I knew half of what is going on, but I fear time will be the only bearer of news as to the outcome of it all, having said that I still have suspicions and no more than that, that the selling of the club is another of SDM's ploys wrong footing everyone. Thanks again at the end of the day we are all looking for a good outcome.
-
That's the problem NL, to many secrets and not enough information or at least information seen as valid. All information imparted should be for all Rangers supporters, not only those deemed somehow superior to the vast majority of us.....divide and conquer is I believe the saying. Problem is, who is doing the dividing to facilitate the conquering and to what end. Forgive me if I appear to be labouring the point, but I feel WS is getting away far to lightly in this tawdry affair, why I don't know, he did after all start it off. TBH no one comes out of it with to much credit, all this sad episode has done and is doing is to create further division in an already divided support, I really do wish WS would put a stop to it or not, all he has to do is confirm or withdraw his allegations. PS......I keep reading about Rangers searching for a new owner, it is hard to believe that a name as famous as Rangers would have to search for anything and who is doing the alleged searching. To declare to be searching for a new owner would to me appear to be starting any negotiations if any ever transpire, from a position of weakness, hardly the business acumen that we expect from Murray.

Must say I liked the reference to "if" where have I heard that before. http://forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=141874&view=findpost&p=1057707044

The part where we disagree is the target, as far as I can see the target for want of a better word, is abundantly clear...SDM. I hope to be proved wrong, but I believe, as in days gone by nothing will be said or happen without his say so, people seem to think he is in no position to influence anything, believe that at your peril. The more I read of subterfuge and Humphrey Bogart Casablanca style meetings, allinged to the reticence to require WS to back up his allegations, the more I wonder if there is a Struth type coup d'etat in the offing with WS being the modern day Struth.
-
And WS stonewalling isn't ?
-
A subject of interest kicked off by WS and you say he refuses to answer questions on his allegations, yet castigate Muir who has no duty to answer anything. Best place for the unsupported allegations of WS would appear to be the bin.
-
WS could easily clarify his statements, why doesn't he, has anyone asked him they appear to be asking everyone else.
-
What is it exactly that those who require a fans input are hoping to achieve, clarity as a word is all but worn out in this debate. Does anyone expect the board or any other involvee with power to heed the clarion call, or will it be seen as an assault on the integrity and competence of the present board.
-
Perhaps you can enlarge on the questions that you are asking, or have they been answered but not to your satisfaction, maybe I am to trusting , time will tell. Until the facts are known to your satisfaction, is it your intention to wash our perceived dirty linen in public, somewhat in my humble opinion a huge misjudgement. But as you say each to his own, I wish you well in your endeavours for the truth, what little I know of the machinations going on the truth is already there and the club is in safe hands.
-
Therein lies the rub, you have to ask the questions of the relevant parties, as I intoned in the OP, apparently that is not registering, it tends to help a cause if protest is made against the proper targets, as opposed to those imagined to be or directed as such by media frenzy. Rangers survived before any of the protagonists in this drama appeared, and Rangers will survive long after they are gone.
-
You misunderstand me, whither it is WS, SDM or Muir what is said is either factual or it isn't, there is no grey area WS categorically contradicted his chairman and stated the bank was in running the club. Now you either believe WS to be correct or you don't, if you think WS is correct and the Chairman and everyone else is "mistaken" you have painted yourself into a corner before you have even started to ask any pertinent questions.
-
Lot of "ifs" in there NL, which is understandable under the circumstances and misinformation culture surrounding the subject. However it is not Muir's remit to issue statements, that is for the office of the CEO or the absent and frankly impotent Chairman. To be honest I am more interested in WS either substantiating or withdrawing his statement about who is running the club, that was the catalyst for this whole ongoing subject, or is the word of WS sacrosanct above all others. As for Muir being known to Lloyds and other big hitters in the financial world, that is no surprise at all considering his job, a big plus for the club rather than a minus.
-
Murray quite clearly states that he was introduced to Muir by Big Eck, of whom Muir is a golfing buddy. Company doctor Muir is now on board. "Donald was a pal of Alex McLeish, so we knew him through football. He's helping me with change. He'll help to teach an old dog new tricks."
-
I just think the whole thing has been dramatised out of all proportion Frankie, due in the main to media misinformation, propaganda and scaremongering. Most if not all questions were allegedly answered by Bain at his scheduled meeting with the RSA, questions relative to Muir's employer and outside interference in transfer matters. The bank debt is being serviced, the facility is up for renegotiation next December, what exactly is this immediate financial crisis or where is it, WS will just have to learn sometimes you have to cut your cloth to suit, we are all in the same boat and the same camp.
-
Hi NL, the focus on Muir while to an extent understandable is also puzzling, either you believe he works for SDM or you don't. Enough has been said about his employer to satisfy me if not you, I believe he is Murray's man not the bank's. As such I see him as an employee of SDM employed to look after the interests of SDM and Rangers in his role at the club, the bank in my estimation will be far from Muir's priority under Murray's remit, his job is to clean up Murray's mess, something Muir is by all accounts extremely good at...turning companies around.
-
After the farce that the Muir subject developed into, more an inter forum star wars than resemblance to any discussion, has anyone or any of the high heid yins of the various forums thought or attempted to get a statement from the organ grinder. Murray as custodian of the club could if he so desired clarify matters, I am aware that there are those among us who are ever sceptical of Murray's utterances, but at this juncture his input may be more of a help than a hindrance. Smith should also be given the opportunity to reiterate or retract his statement about the club being run by the bank, Muir appears to be a convenient whipping boy at this stage, a sop for those perhaps not wishing to question Murray or Smith, for whatever reasons. An approach by ALL admin of all Rangers forum for a statement from our owner will either be successful or it wont, if not people are more than entitled to ask questions and look for the answers as they see fit, be it by protest or petition or any other legitimate means, but the man at the top must be given the opportunity to clarify matters, if he has not already been requested to do so.
-
The apparent fulcrum of dissent appears to be Muir, either you accept he works for Murray or you don't, I accept he is Murrays man and whatever he does to clean up Murray's mess is OK by me, it is not as if he is some sort of amateur in his field of expertise.

Statement From Rangers Supporters in Respect of the Protest
wabashcannonball replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Apologies boss for not returning for my dumps sooner, family crisis prevailed, all I ask is that the eggs are not to hard. That apart I see we agree on most other aspects of the matter and at whom protest should be directed. For my own part I think it is time to step away from the internal runnings of the club and focus on the footballing side of things. I doubt fans will change anything protest or no protest, my own thoughts are as they have always been, Murray will decide along with the advices of Muir what the future will be, a future that I see very much involving the Murray dynasty. -
