This, then, is where we stand as the group considering a takeover of Scotland's champions-elect enters into a period of due diligence, during which they will consider the club's finances in detail. Assuming it is all not some Rangers-driven wheeze to boost season-ticket sales, Ellis must have something that appeals to the club – if not money, then the strategy that can provide it – but if he is being manipulated by the wrong men, it will count for nothing. +++++++++++++++++++++ The irony is that another council-related development plan has been suggested as a possible incentive in the takeover of Rangers. Less than two years ago, the club were in discussions with Glasgow City Council, which agreed in principle to sell them land in the nearby Hinshelwood area. The talk was of a multi-million pound hotel and retail complex that could lead to the redevelopment of Ibrox Stadium. http://scotlandonsunday.scotsman.com/sos-sports-columnists/Paul-Forsyth-Andrew-Ellis-uncovered.6150348.jp Notwithstanding that the land negotiations are not as recent as the rags would have us believe, do Rangers in fact own the land has it been sold to the club, or is it still only in principal, if we do not own it how is it to be purchased if that is the aim. If as the writer alludes to it is all a bums on seats wheeze, there is only one possible suspect, some people never step down.

Perhaps my reference to 1984 was to subtle for you. I doubt I said anything was futile, but defeinite fragmentation is visible for all, but as always you can put your own spin on matters, that is what freedom is all about within reason.

The reality is somewhat more simple, internet forums are places where people can agree or agree to disagree, places for exchanging and putting up opinions, they as in the case of our clubs multitude of sites have absolutely no bearing on what happens within the Ibrox board room. Some people really do attach an importance that is way beyond the effect that boards have, fragmentation divide and conquer call it what you will, but we have to many boards pulling in different directions, a little Glasnost would go a long way.

You have to have a wry smile at times, " make your case for joining" it's the internet not some secret society, being a Rangers supporter apparently isn't enough, 1984 appears to be taken literally in certain quarters, cest la vie.

You have your view, which I would hazard a guess is far removed from the majority, a Rangers legend and captain is exactly that, we all say stupid things at times, even those without an agenda.. :spl: PS. hope you don't mind the smilie m8.

There is no doubt that DJ is a Rangers legend http://www.rangers.co.uk/articles/20040601/derek-johnstone_2255475_1561264 the point is or was about his naivety at times.

Tripe ? Big Eck's transfer dealings speak for themselves, £13 mill plus. I believe what I said is quite clear http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/showpost.php?p=196332&postcount=7 why you are arguing with yourself beats me, perhaps you have an agenda. -

Did I really, well there you go, you do have a way of interpreting words, but as long as you are enjoying yourself. When you can tell me who has or had a net profit of £13 million in his transfer dealings and slashed the wage bill, you might be nearer to solving your riddle, what's up don't you like smilies. :spl: -
TV to be precise, and unless it is Dallas I don't believe a word of it...:box:

Your havin a laff, anyone that doesn't agree with you has an agenda, what sort of money did "walter" spend was it real money or toytown money, there again the agenda card is oft played by those grasping at straws.. -
Don't get me wrong DJ was a lion in a Rangers jersey, I am just disappointed that he is being used by others to push their garbage, I will retract that comment about him going down in my estimation. He gave me many great memories as a player and we really were dancing on the tables in the Dry Dock as I recall, heady days and flares, (the trooser variety) I hope DJ comes to his senses soon and sees what the parasites are using him for. :spl: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bj68CHlqFko]YouTube- Great Rangers Goals v Celtic - From the Seventies[/ame]

Aye right, you keep reading the papers, I will go down the route of Muir works for Murray, each to their own.

Big DJ has gone down a long way in my estimation, why he continues to put his name to such pish is beyond me, the paper and I use the term loosely is every bit as bad. "0 commentsPublished on 12 Mar 2010 Six months ago Rangers were a club without troubles to seek as the threat of administration loomed large." Furfuxsake DJ give it a rest and write some facts. :brick: http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/sport-columnists/derek-johnstone-smart-money-on-a-future-that-counts-1.1012950

No problem with the credit RBR, but when you throw it about like a man with 10 arms sometimes the credit rating drops, I don't buy into the myth about WS having not been given money, only wish Big Eck would have had the same kitty. -

A good way to save money is not to spend it on dumplings or French sticks, I wonder how Wattie would manage if he really had no money to waste. -
Mibees we could get Purcell as a negotiator, but whither he would leave his Thai bolt hole to take our shilling is another thing, he has allegedly got fingers in all the right places, that's enough I'm getting the dry boke.. Have a walk around Elder Park and Linthouse Frankie down by the Fairfields club...only go team handed not for the faint hearted, and within a heartbeat of Ibrox.

You got it in one, football was the peoples game, it is now the remit of Roller and Bentley drivers, agents who put fek all in and take plenty out, and piss on the people day in day out. Like I said Govan is no Las Vegas and Hinshelwood no Strip, the dream died the day football decided it was big business rather than Sport, you are a customer not a fan and there is a difference, the marketing gurus have ensured that, how many more Portsmouth's is there.
-
Senga and Archie will be overwhelmed with choice, as will many of the good Burgers of Govan and satellite areas of untold wealth, Ladbrokes or the Sands Casino, Brechins Bar or downtown Govans Hilton piano bar. Its jobs the Govanites want, not some overpriced poxy pie in the sky Las Vegasite betting shop and Holiday Inn slum, staffed by foreign workers and owned by people who couldn't give two feks about Senga and Archie or their bairns. ETA. silly me it's the timmy Glesga cooncil, who don't give two feks as to anything not green and gold. :box:

We or should I say all of football have much to be grateful to the founders of Queens Park FC. A great wee read and enlightening. http://www.queensparkfc.co.uk/Club%20information/history/intro.html

Read the article, still don't see what pressure we are under from the bank, as our chairman said, "we are a going concern with a clean bill of health". As long as we continue to meet our obligations why would or should that change.

The more that I read of this little farrago, the more I see the stage being set for the only (?) custodian, who has the interests of the club at heart, to return and save us from the "speculators", he could teach Barnum a thing or three.
