  3. I have heard Frankie, that a decision is to be allegedly taken this Friday, which being a Friday is a curious time to say the least. SDM, will allegedly yay or nay, which leads to if a nay not a lot else required, if yay, Rangers scrutiny panel then either yay or nay, the worst scenario is SDM yay and scrutiny panel nay, big big decision for anyone , being as the scrutiny panel are actually representing the interests of Rangers FC, Minty's interests are his own as a non board member or chairman now.
  4. He is the case officer for the Rangers FC offer situation at the Takeover Panel, my grandson told me, it is his remit to know these things.
  5. The name Michael Bird may be about to loom large from certain quarters, or there again not.
  6. Bawbaggery reaches new heights, has a support ever been treated with such contempt, irrespective of which view you hold on this fiasco. Date: 09 June 2010 By Tom English US COLUMNISTS are a dying breed. It's the column that's killing us; the tyranny of the hunt for an original thought. One of the finest operators I know in this milieu has a default setting on barren days. He pens a column about not being able to write a column. It's great. He runs through an array of weighty subjects that he could be writing about – drugs in sports ADVERTISEMENT, greed in football, corruption everywhere – but concludes that he's already said everything he has to say about all of those things – and then said it again and again. Over the years, he's come up with about 18 different versions of the same plaintive piece. Some of his very best stuff has been about the torture and then finally the acceptance of not having a single cogent thought in his head. Ah, but it's different here. We'll always have Rangers and Celtic. Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em. They are our go-to columns when nothing else sticks. In one corner of the city, if it's not the risky appointment of Tony Mowbray then it's the utterly madcap notion of bringing in Stuart Baxter as part-time mentor, passing on his pearls of wisdom from his place in Helsinki. Comedy gold in the east end and comedy gold in Govan. We're talking Rangers and a little nugget that comes our way via South Africa. Remember Dave King? The poster boy of Ibrox. The identikit owner; Rangers to his core, rich beyond words, generous to a fault. If the Rangers takeover story was a horror movie – and who is to say it doesn't have the potential? – then King would be the character who refuses to die no matter how much lead is pumped into him. King, as if you need telling, has got the full force of the South African Revenue Service on his case. SARS have him up on 322 charges of money-laundering, racketeering, fraud and all manner of other hairy activities but still he has been – and continues to be – linked with a bid for Rangers. SARS have been saying that King owes them upwards of Ã?£206m in tax and yet he is seen in certain places as the ideal man to buy out Murray. No doubt, King would love to get involved. He's not saying anything either but we hear news from South Africa of a deal he attempted to strike with the revenue authorities. It is believed King tried to plea bargain with SARS by offering them Ã?£56m – Ã?£52m more than he says he owes them – as a full and final settlement and that SARS, weary from a saga that has trundled on for eight years at a cost to them of Ã?£13m and counting, were prepared to accept it. Indeed, a commissioner by the name of Oupa Magashula, had apparently signed off on the deal, only for the National Prosecuting Authority to dynamite it. "This is the biggest tax fraud case in the country, and (some believe that to) settle this on the wrong terms would send out a message that rich people can pay their way out of jail," said one party who is close to the case. "What does it say to those who go to jail for...tax evasion?" Last Wednesday, King enjoyed a minor victory when a judge in Southwark Crown Court in London lifted the preservation order on some of his assets in the UK. That's not hugely significant in itself, but it gives King some hope that a similar authority in Guernsey – where most of his wealth is frozen – might do likewise. Maybe it's a long-shot but it's one that King will surely try. Meanwhile, his tax dispute hits the courts in South Africa in late July. Groundhog Day for King, then. And Groundhog Day for the rest of us also. Have we all lost the will to live when it comes to the subject of Rangers and their future? It's getting there. As was said recently, it's like the long-running West End play, The Mousetrap, but with the mouse (an owner) refusing to be trapped. Somebody who knows a thing or two about Rangers told me the other day that the next major announcement that will come out of Ibrox will most likely be that, for the lack of a buyer, the club has been taken off the market. More and more you sense that that very outcome is the most probable and that the reign of Murray is very far from being over. But Mr English is more than likely nearer the mark than most.
  7. I have it on good authority that tomorrow is the day after today or Wednesday, my source was quite cryptic, but he is a stoatin guy and I would trust him with your wife. However let me make it clear that I will broker no questioning as to the validity and all round good guyness of my "source", if tomorrow does not follow today, or it turns out not to be Wednesday I will of course reveal my "source" for all to be availed of. There endeth this bulletin, or should that be bullshit.....:fish: PS... please note that I never said which tomorrow or what today...or what century the Wednesday in question would fall, feel free to disbelieve or believe as you wish, but from what I have seen posted there are little pixies who still live in pixie dell.....

  10. Your next exciting (?) installment due soon courtesy of ""sources", don't miss it...or there again...
  11. You may be correct or you may not be, but it does not tally with..."Also, for the record, AJ was asked at the NARSA Q & A today over there about the Ellis deal...... He seemed quite positive about it and said 'I need to be careful what I say due to stock market regulations but it's definitely not dead' SDM also constantly referred to as 'Murray'. Stated he was warned he'd be yellow carded as chairman if he blabbed about the Ellis deal but I think it was half jokingly. It was said AJ had been threatened with a SE warning...."The Chairman spent time at length articulating the strictness of Stock Exchange regulations. His recent press comments had led to being threatened by a Stock Exchange yellow card," But as we can see he had already commented on the Ellis involvement, so what to gain by denying or refusing to comment after the event. The facts are simple, the club is allegedly up for sale, there is allegedly a buyer, so why all the cloak and dagger that would do credit to Conan Doyle, that has turned a business deal into a fiasco.
  12. If this from Bdts is anything to go by, if this is what we have or possibly awaits, their conduct would be no better than Murray's. For the record, if a manuscript of some sort comes out from the NARSA AGM today, I fully expect AJ, Bain and Smith to deny or not acknowledge takeover talk or give any hints about this. I would like to think that AJ, Bain and WS have more integrity than that, if that scenario ever arose.
  13. Mr Ellis was in attendance at the Epsom derby.
  14. Decisive management was Souness's bag, everything since has been second best.
  15. Furfuxsake Lafferty couldny tackle a fish supper....
  16. From RM. After today's NARSA AGM, a stellar line up of Rangers worthies took to the top table for a Question and Answer session lasting 75-80 minutes. Club Chairman, Alastair Johnston was centre stage, flanked by Walter Smith and Martin Bain. Also seated were Kenny McDowall, Bomber Brown, Big Amo', Colin Stein, Jim Stewart, and Jim Hannah. Both the League Championship trophy and the League Cup flanked the assembled cast. A queue of Bears queued for access to the microphone to pose their question in an open forum. There were many ancedotes and genuinely funny interchanges; however, I will confine this report to the business end of our great club. First question was a reference to the so-called journalist, Graham Spiers. When will the club stand up against him? The Chairman answered that the breadth of the medium was such that Spiers pieces were of increasing less importance ie Bears know whats going on, and non-Bears too. The Chief Executive chimed in with both Spiers and his Editor were called in and told the score. Further, he gave an assurance that the Editor of the Boston Globe had also been taken to task. The original questionaire returned to the microphone to demand a third trophy, "Graham Spiers head". The applause echoed around a packed hall. Second question was based on marketing, questionaire worked in South Korea and mentioned his local shopkeeper wore a green'n'grey hooped jersey, why are Rangers not pursuing markets further afield? Martin Bain answered that club policy was to sign a player because the Manager wanted him and NOT because of current commercial policy. Forth question was on Danny Wilson, is he leaving and if he is determined to go, is he receiving bad advice? Walter was pragmatic, EPL is a huge draw and the fact his Agent is English and more aware of the market down south, have determined the player and his family have decided to make the most of any opportunity available. Walter added that Rangers have already knocked back one bid from Liverpool. Fifth question was simple and direct, "is a takeover imminent"? The Chairman spent time at length articulating the strictness of Stock Exchange regulations. His recent press comments had led to being threatened by a Stock Exchange yellow card, as such he was determined to remain within the guidelines. However, he does not regret the comments because he believes the Rangers support should be kept informed. He shares the frustrations and also wants to demonstrate that the job of Chairman is on going and not only about facilitating any proposed takeover. He confirmed discussions with Ellis were continuing. Interestingly, he chose not to use the word, 'progressing'. Our Chairman became quite garrulous, apologised for the time taken and attention to detail being imparted, then continued with club relations with Lloyds. A meeting with the bank took place after the Championship was secured. This was deliberate, ensuring the club was dealing from a position of greater strength. A subsequent meeting occurred after Rangers CL place was secured. He admitted the relationship with Lloyds was poor at the start of his tenure. He was determined that the bank only dealt with himself and the club Board, and not through a third party. The Chairman's choice of words at this part are significant, "I wanted to ensure the bank only spoke to me and the Board and did not speak to the club through Murray". The bank are reassured by the club's business plan and accepted a proposed meeting with Walter Smith. The Manager's resigning and both McCoist's and McDowall's extended contracts are a result of this final club/bank meeting. Until the Ellis bid or any other firms up, then the current Board will get on with the job. There is a sub-Committee charged with assessing any proposed bid, tasked with : (i)total elimination/substantial elimination of club debt. (ii)ensuring any proposal includes significant investment in the playing squad. The Chairman was at pains to stress the day of unchaperoned owners/investors was over and the current Board will be extremely vigilant on supporters behalf, should a new buyer be found. The fifth question was on youth development and Kenny McDowall answered, it will be slightly easier for younger players to make the break through as the club NEED them to make the grade. He mentioned Bendicksen, Ness, and Stirling as likely. Walter added the current first team squad was 13 or 14 at the moment. Question number six was specifically on the tax issue before the club. Alastair Johnston stated three points : (i)the scheme run under the former Chairman was NOT illegal. (ii)the scheme was tax avoidance as opposed to tax evasion. (iii)the government agency's assessment raised against Rangers had been appealed by Rangers. Further, he was offering no guarantees but was confident of winning the appeal because all advice taken were of the opinion that the club would prevail. As stated, there were many other questions, ranging from Weir's influence as Skipper, through young keepers coming through, to Jim Forrest's enforced absence from the '67 ECWC final. All worthy, but I wanted to concentrate on the current situation. Obviously, I have included a slant where I thought language useage was significant. However, I have attempted to play this with a straight bat. I know we are a club with far more questions than answers, but I had a feeling today that the current incumbants accepted the the very real reality of the current situation and were willing to grasp the nettle. All Bears should be grateful to NARSA for creating this window of opportunity.
  17. They need their baws booted if they have been hasslin sccgers, we might see things frae different viewpoints, but that is no excuse to take things to ridiculous lengths, at the end of the day the laddie posted what he was told, what me tom dick or harry think is only that a thought, fek me ah even like rbr an he gies me pelters.....we are aw jock thamsons bairns as well as bears......slaggins ok within reason...anything else is timmy like....
  18. Not until you tell me, but your not old enough to tell me, and I don't need you to tell me how to defend myself against people who post bullshit and then try to deflect it to me for exposing it,if you are happy to swallow it be my guest.....but there is more to come ....certain parties have been yanking punters chains......
  19. Fans don't post bollox for the deluding of other fans, your source really stitched you up......or is Suck being economical with the truth, one of them is at it, so we will take that as your source since Suck made a full and public rebuttal of your sources allegations. As my auld faither used to say..."you couldny gie you a rid neck wi' a blawlamp"
  20. If you call questioning misinformation with riders attached as such, "Whether it's fact or fiction I dont know I wasn't there , but when someone I have known for over 22 years and who's reputation I would put my life on tell's me something then that's good enough for me , if you dont like it dont comment simples." winding people up you have a strange line between fact and fiction, it was fiction wasn't it. Or is the great poobah mistaken in his total denial of your sources allegations. I find it surreal that I am the one being called to defend exposure of bollox peddled as factual from a source, appears the bullshitters just move the dates around and carry on.
  21. The night of the long knives has begun, but has it ended....... something very fishy and all to accomodating...
  22. Kris Boyd is who he is, he isn't Doctor Deucher, Kris Boyd is all time SPL goal machine, he has nothing to prove to you, me, Smith or Levein. He scores goals, more often than not when the opportunity is presented....simples. And I never said he had seen and done it all, you threw that in, a trait of some boards.
  23. I smiled, nearly, goals speak louder than anything.....remind me..:spl:
  24. Book value versus asset value, tangible real assets to intangible assets. When some one can work that out they will win a watch, until that time Murray decides any price. The much quoted figure of £33 mill. is not very mysteriously on the benchmark of buying market value at the then share price of market capital circa £48 mill for the alleged £33 million...buy cheap sell high, if anyone thinks that Minty is letting that one away, what can I say. What puzzles me is why FF have closed their Ellis threads, the ones about solid info from top people in the know, about done deals etc etc just to be announced etc etc, on second thoughts I aint confused, there is only so much bollox even FFpunters will swallow.
  25. You're avin a fekin laff....we know what the big picture is, the club is allegedly being sold on the cheap, or are you really rip van fekin winkle...... maybe you think naked selling is an ice cream wumman wi' nae claes oan....
