  1. When you understand the tenets of Mr Struths famous saying, you will understand that Rangers are above and should be above chasing anyone, especially players whose only goal is greed. Others do the chasing not Rangers. "" I have been lucky — lucky in those who were around me from the boardroom to the dressing-room. In time of stress, their unstinted support, unbroken devotion to our club and calmness in adversity eased the task of making Rangers FC the premier club in this country. To be a Ranger is to sense the sacred trust of upholding all that such a name means in this shrine of football. They must be true in their conception of what the Ibrox tradition seeks from them. No true Ranger has ever failed in the tradition set him. Our very success, gained you will agree by skill, will draw more people than ever to see it. And that will benefit many more clubs than Rangers. Let the others come after us. We welcome the chase. It is healthy for us. We will never hide from it. Never fear, inevitably we shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers."" ........................ ETA.......oh fekkin dear.... http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/2010/08/13/rangers-want-stoke-to-subsidise-james-beattie-wage-deal-as-part-of-1-25m-transfer-swoop-86908-22484359/
  2. He might huv signed the visitors book, I'll see if I can find out....:fish:
  3. Beattie left without signing, knee ? money ? fek knows, a right kettle o fekin fish.........
  4. Your awrite son, you'll be at hame here, uncle Frankie runs a tight ship, though I must admit tae being keel hauled a few times.... jist cos a like Boab.... 5. Look to the Badge, be alligned with all things rampant....:spl:
  6. Thanx m8, you are safe here, who is this team "Glasgow" Rangers many of the bell ends on RM refer to, I am always suspicious of bellringers who cannot get the name right. You should do your Presbyterian duty and take the misinformers and loupers to task. Go forth and spread the word that is Rangers....:spl:
  7. Beattie can have until the heavy pitches appear, then we will see how well his "knee" holds up.
  8. Gers manager Walter Smith has already had talks with the Stoke hierarchy as he looks to add to his meagre first team squad. The Scottish champions are - for want of as better word - skint, and would need to negotiate carefully to get the £1.5 million asking price down and convince Beattie to take a cut in his £35,000-a-week wages. Loan deal ?.
  9. just another day in the life of us fans of free beer tomorrow....:(
  10. Radio Scotland reporting deal is "unlikely".
  11. I hope you are right, but although I got evens for us to lift the title, I am beginning to have grave doubts as to the rudderless direction we appear to be taking.
  12. Give you that FH, making 21 since 2008 SU and Stoke' Ian 1964, if we were replacing the departed with something better and younger, bring him on, we aren't..panic buy if it happens...I just hope this is not a repeat of blowing 10 IAR.
  13. Since and including 2008 to present, Beattie has scored 9 goals
  14. Why would a manager not known for his attacking propensities, be allegedly trying to sign more strikers than Scottish Bluebell.
  15. Agreed 100% on the shambles rbr, be nice if everyone could bury the hatchet at the club, and endeavour to the common good of club and fans.
  16. You of course will point out where and when I said, "that no forward could do a better job than Boyd" of course you won't. You are right about one thing, he was our WR, look in the goals column....
  17. Operative word "IF". No if with Boyd. ................................................... Another twist or journalistic licence ? Rangers had agreed a fee with Rapid Vienna for Jelavic but are some £10,000-a-week short of the player's wage demands. The Light Blues have said they can't meet Jelavic's wages and Express Sport understands that there have been no contact between the two parties since Sunday. Reports that a hitch between Jelavic and Rapid Vienna over a sell-on was holding up the deal are wide of the mark. http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/192726/Smith-s-not-for-Rangers-that-s-Tommy-not-Walter
  18. You must have missed Wattie telling all and sundry the finances are blown out of all proportion, that being just one of his at hand views, depending on who is listening. I did hear once that the EPL clubs get oodles of Sky money, £9 mill will be a mere bauble, or maybe it is just hersay..
  19. I am pretty sure it won't be put to the test.
  20. I believe you are confused RBR, there is and was nothing to defend Muir for, simply an employee of Minty doing a job for Minty. We are in the position we are in, a quite healthy one now, because of Muir's advices, i.e don't spend what you don't have and can't afford, in short live within our means. Having said that piss poor transfer deals have not helped, I would hazard that other clubs see us coming and polish the glass doors....
  21. Nah, I am a purveyor of moonbeams and endless tunnels..
  22. Fek me is he our new owner, must have missed that...:box:
  23. Aye ye canny beat a nice moonbeam....:fish:
  24. No, what I am telling you is that if Pele signed tomorrow, we are expected to believe he would be on a wages cap. Shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted is pointless, it was okay for others to be getting paid more than Boyd previously, but not OK for Boyd to hold out for his true worth. Anyhow that was not the point, the point is the economics, by my reckoning if Jelly ever did sign, it will cost us £2.4 million to enforce an alleged wages cap...unless of course he was sold on for more than £7.2 mill.
