Rangers 2 - 1 St Johnstone: Player Ratings and MoM Poll
wabashcannonball replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
The only piss about here is the piss you are spoutin, Scottish fitba ceased to be competative when Alex Ferguson went to the Manc mhanks and probably before that, two horse races are just that and very often a one horse race up here. That is not WS's fault, but it made his job a lot easier, at worst even money of winning trophies and at best free and clear. If you need to put Walter up there in a pedstal feel free, me I am looking for something more along the lines of the great competative Rangers Euro nights, and I wouldn't even want to think of how much money he spent. -

I don't make the stats I just quote them, you still don't appear to have grasped that your granny would have managed to win 10 in a row in this piss poor league, all the cards and the money were stacked in our favour. -

We got a doin and still won or perhaps you think we played like the Magyars , sometimes in fact a lot of the times it is better to be lucky than good, case in point. -

What I don't think is that WS should be the assinged oil for every success from Alex McLeish to Halfords bikes. Big Eck has better percentages than WS at both Rangers and Scotland, and at Rangers with a lot less money, but he did manage to spend some of it on Boyd. -

Suggesting ?.. no stating, what exactly did we qualify for ? Big Eck took the same players to Scotlands highest ever FIFA ranking 14Th.....and a pulsating heart breaker against Italy. I do not recall saying anyone here said WS is infallible, but other places are known to swing the axe for those who dare to question Walter's saintly mystique.. -
If it were down to me, I would tell them and GMP to shove their tickets right up their hole, treated worse than illegals in our own country, and the club could have shown more backbone in defending its supporters.

He gets credit for being a good manager in Scotland with a great team, ours. When it comes to playing with the big boys, that is a matter of opinion. -

The Kirn Cup is an extremely hotly contested tournament, apart from that famous trophy win, two 1-0 doins by France, but the victories were ours and knocked out of everything qucker than glass jawed Joe. I do believe you could be fishing, no joy here, I am a Scot Symon man to the soles of my polished Oxfords. -
The EPL is a financial time bomb, £3.6 billion, yes billion in debt at the last count, even with Sky money, and the irony of it all is, that it is Sky money (that's yours and mine) that has fuelled the madness.

So how no let Junior league clubs in, they are part of the broad church of Scottish football, even if their ultimate masters are the SFA. -

The answer has been there for a long time, Smith is OK in Scotland, but there again given the resources that we have in relative terms applied to our little country and its two horse race, most indigenous managers with an elementary grasp, would be just as good as our manager. Despite flirting with success in Europe, Walter has never been able to make the step up on a consistent basis, that despite Murray's spiel about budgeting without a reliance on a great deal of euro dosh is our problem. We have been living or attempting to dine at the top table, when we didn't have the price of the meal. I lay that squarely at the door of the management, others will disagree that is their prerogative. -

Still begs the question Frankie, if you and a blind man and his dug can see this, why can't the management, plural. -

How far out of position does he need to be, he is a right winger. -

Question is, why does Smith constantly destroy players effectiveness by playing them out of position, as he did with Weiss, another Basile in the making ? -
The best game anyone has ever seen, is the last best game they saw, irrespective of what league it's in, every league has good and bad, the money thrown around in the top leagues just makes their often piss poor fare, even more noticeable and comment worthy.
