  1. Aye i got your sarcasm there, i was just reminiscing, it's always enjoyable remembering how even the clever guys can sometimes use daft ideas to garner support.
  2. I don't think that idea was ever really meant to be a goer, more a ruse to scare the asset stripers Green /Ashley co.
  3. Yeh I remember the hullabaloo at the time, wasn't it one guy from the RF that took it on himself to offer the club a soft loan?
  4. What makes the guys (Bears), who gave the soft loans to the club, any different from the Bears as members of C1872?
  5. Yeh why not, you could take your pick.
  6. I thought buying half of the Ashley share block was a good thing at the time, but looking back with hindsight, now with the share dilution coming up, i'm not to sure now. Better the members money was given as soft loans like others did, C1872 would now have £1mil converted to shares undiluted. But i don't think the fans money was ever wanted for soft loans, wonder why that is?
  7. What about Jim McColl? Not saying he would be interested purely hypothetical.
  8. Doesn't mean they don't either, but to say no one from C1872 (whoever takes the position, if ever offered) has nothing to offer is outright nonsense.
  9. What if Or if it happens in the Barras, are you Irish or Scottish lol
  10. That's quite a statement, C1872 hasn't nominated any one as yet, but you deem he or she has nothing to offer. So amongst how many Rangers supporters around the globe, some very high profile Bears. Who some are self made multi millionaires, politicians, QC, ex Military and none have nothing to offer. I heard of talking ourselves down but that really is going to far.
  11. Maybe not a Shug fae Larkhall, but another Dave fae Castlemilk.
  12. I would offer the position to Donald Findlay, might not please everyone right enough lol
  13. If you buy enough shares it does give you the authority to call EGM and call for resolutions, even putting a candidate forward for a place on the board. Also the board can appoint a supporters representative if they wish, it's just that they don't wish to at this moment in time, well that could change?
  14. Of course, but who's to say the representative the supporters appoint to the clubs board, isn't the next Alan Sugar?
  15. I understand that BD, i was pointing out how it's fine to bring in people whenever for whatever, but not allow supporters representation when ever for whatever reason, looks a bit like double standards? Who is a ''Individual with significant control'' anyway.
  16. Just out of curiosity how many shares did it take for Alastair Johnston to becoming a director, or an ''Individual person of significant control'' It seems to me individuals or someone representing corporate identities can become a director or have significance without having share control or even many shares. I'm thinking of the old regime were faces just appeared and disappeared at whim. then now we have Mr Johnston suddenly appear again.
  17. Whyte, Green, Ahmed, Somers, Easdale 1, Easdale 2, Llambias, Stockbridge to mention a few, ok someone somewhere might have raised an eyebrow, but they all got away with wrecking the club
  18. Why not, they have a bunch of fecking seriously dodgy feckers on the board a few years ago, no one batted an eye then.
  19. My favourite thread. There's a book title here lol
  20. Some very salient points there Gaffer, the refusal of the board to engage in any form of PR and fight back to the club detractors, is one of the most valid points you make. That and protecting the club from unknown future rogues should they try to gain a foothold in the club. I have said many times on here that can be backed up, that the support will have to going forward help with the clubs finances, We are not looking for any financial return, no special allowances in ticket subsides, no ties, no blazers, no access to players Lounge or even entry to bar 72. Only our voice of the support being heard by our representative being present at board level. That's not too much to ask for a two million pound investment by the support to date, with much more being promised and given going forward.
  21. Yes not just between the board and the fans, but between the fans also. very disheartening all round.
  22. Our club more so than others, for some reason.
  23. Again in this thread there are some good ideas, debate and answers, I have a belief in C1872 that has not diminished over that last couple of turbulent years for them. My belief is firmly based in the idea that we as Rangers supporters need to help finance the club. Yes there is the argument that as yet C1872 hasn't invested heavily enough directly into Rangers as yet, but spending £1mil of supporters money helping to removing Ashley's influence was and remains a good move. I'm a little disappointed by Dave King's attitude towards C1872, rather than praising C1872 help in removing Ashley's negative vote on the resolution 10, to allow a new share issue, we are told our shareholding being diluted and the subsequent further share purchases, might not be enough investment to secure a board representative. It just seems that whatever the C1872 share percentage is, it's never going to be big enough to satisfy King to allow the support a genuine presence on the main board. So how do we deal with that situation? I have already said that i think the support have done more than enough already to secure a place on the board, but obviously that's not good enough.Ok then let C872 try another tactic, i think, but stand corrected if i'm wrong, that C1872 said they have about £40k a month being paid into their account through direct debits and one off donations? That's nearly £500k a year that could be directly put into Rangers to cover some of any financial shortfalls, over say a ten year period that would amount to a £5mil investment from the support, would that then secure a place on the board. C1872 need to ask the questions here, do we go on buying shares or do we try and exploit other avenues that best serves the club and the supporters dreams of meaningful club representation.
  24. Yes Gaffer each member had an election manifesto published on the C1872 website, i think you can go on and read them or the old ones, they also did a live question and answer section were you could ask each individual questions on their publish manifesto/
