  1. That makes a change. I'd have expected an 'everyone has their price' or 'we don't want to let him go but...' Why the 'so far have refused to even put an evaluation' part? I mean it's not normal practice for you to go and tell the media exactly what you'll sell an upcoming prized asset. Although it wouldn't be out of the ordinary if we did go and tell the media that...
  2. Correct. This topics pretty pedantic. Post 02/03 has largely not been a good time to be a Rangers fan with an incredible amount of pish players being signed.
  3. Surprised at the judgement of our scouts?
  4. Amazing what a few wins can do and suddenly Walter's done a fantastic job. Also, if Smith hadn't blown so much money on mediocrity (Lafferty being the obvious terrible signing) we probably wouldn't be in such a bad financial situation. Smith has had serious money, for an SPL side.
  5. I don't know where on earth he got best player from and I don't remember him starring in any games but he is right that he has been often played out of position. He's been a shocking signing but with a run of games in his proper position things might have gone differently.

No I'm not at school but it's still before my lifetime.
  7. Yeah, they're just threatening us with being thrown out the tournament . Let's not get embroiled in a pedantic argument. Fact is they don't want us signing the song and have made that crystal clear. Removal from the champions league for a few seasons would destroy us financially.

You take everything far too literal. The lengths you will go to defend everything about the team are getting boring. We have nobody particularly skilled at dribbling i.e. someone who does it consistently every week and that's a fact. For 5 or so seasons we've been crying out for flair players. Charlie Adam could beat a man on occasion but it still was something he was very poor at.
  9. I think I was looking for 'bombscare' .
  10. The old firm have been the poor relations to the big leagues money wise for ages. The old firm still have plenty resources at their disposal to consistently hammer the opposition in a league where the standard isn't much better than the lower English leagues. Try totalling up what the Rangers squad cost in relation to the Hibs squad...
  11. How many obvious mistakes has Alexander ever made?
  12. He got too long a run in the team with this form. If a player plays poorly for a string of games you get him out and try something else. His mistakes have cost us points and points cost leagues. I don't understand how some players put in 1 bad performance and are never seen again yet Wattie's favourites can put in half a season worth of terrible performances before they're binned. On his day he's a creative looking player going forward but the main thing you want from a fullback is the ability to defend and then to also overlap and put in crosses. Is he good at either of those things? I think if he's to have any future its as a wide midfielder. In big games where we need 3 midfielders we could maybe have Whittaker wide right, tucking in when need be. He can at least control a ball, look up and try to play a bit (when on form) which often few of our players can do. I wouldn't have him anywhere near right back again though because defensively he's a bombshell.
  13. OK, in my opinion it's one of the most accurate posts I've read...

We barely have anyone capable of beating a man once, never mind twice

A manager from a Dutch or German league wouldn't be a bad idea actually. Both nations have many talented managers we could possibly attract and tend to have a good, positive attitude to football with an emphasis on effort and technique.
  16. When have I ever stated I had a high regard for Aaron? I simply wanted him to get more of a chance, particularly at a time when we rarely ever see any good performances in the wide areas. We persisted with the likes of McCulloch and Lafferty putting terrible performance after terrible performance in when all the while we had some natural wide players that could be getting a shot - ones who looked quite good too. As for our points total last year, not sure what the relevance is. We were pish then too. The old firm have not suddenly just got poor, it's been happening for years.
  17. Usually we require CL participation just to simply break even (failure to meet the group stages often means £10M+ added onto the debt) so interesting to see if we have actually really made anything.
  18. One of the most accurate posts I've ever read on here. I'd probably have Alexander over McGregor and when you consider Alexander is a championship level keeper, what does that say for McGregor? If McGregor goes to Spurs I can see him being the next disaster there. He'll have enormous pressure and lots to do in every game. number 1 at spurs isn't a nice job.
  19. Revisionism at its finest. McGregor has made a shocking amount of errors and that is a fact. When he's good he's very good, when he's bad he's very bad...
  20. I don't think Hibs are any better than they were a few seasons ago, if as good. The old firm are just much worse.
  21. Wilson has only had a run of games out of necessity. Walter Smith pays no attention to who's ready. He'd far sooner play some experienced Average Joe that he trusts.
  22. Yeah you're right. Charlie fairly mastered those long punts out for goal kicks and managed to appear even slower than Neil Lennon on a bad day.
  23. That's rubbish. Decent youngsters across Europe get introduced at 17/18. 20/21 is far too late. Quite a lot of players in the premiership and championship even start getting games at 16. We have players like Paul Emslie and Jordan MacMillan who have played about 1 game and are almost 22. How are they ever going to make it now Big clubs like Barca, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Ajax, Porto etc have all featured loads of teenagers in recent seasons.
  24. If someone like Iniesta was born in Scotland he'd probably never become a pro. It's all about how hard you kick the ball or how big/fast you are. Scotland is a backward country when it comes to football and there's no emphasis on technique.
  25. He wasn't a big bruiser capable of challenging for a header or many tackles so that rendered him useless much like Beasley in recent seasons...sigh
