  1. I don't really see the point in this article.
  2. What a great idea, punish your national teams goalie just before a key international match. Not the most confidence boosting thing to do and we know McGregor is a keeper who thrives on confidence. In saying that, he does deserve to be reprimanded for it and could have been sent off during the game, which would have been worse
  3. The fact that every club in Scotland, notably us and them seems to think their is the exact same sort of agenda against them makes it hard to look at objectively. As Frankie says though the facts speak for themselves. What clouds the issue is the waves of people particularly on followfollow who think the whole world is against us. I'm somewhere inbetween that mentality and what Danny is saying. At the end of the day keep winning and if no one likes us.....we don't care
  4. I see where you're coming from but much of the points outlayed in this topic are perfectly valid. Every football fan thinks the whole worlds against them though. In our case though, I think we aren't far off the truth! Growing up in Aberdeen, I can tell you that half of them have more hatred for us than love for their own shite club.
  5. WASP's get no sympathy or praise, ever.
  6. The national game is increasingly irrelevant now. The world cup used to be the highlight of world football but now it's definitely the champions league. Football is so much about money now that club football has leaped forward in importance.
  7. At least he's not out for a year or something. I was thinking whilst at Ibrox recently that some of these tackles could end one of our star players careers. Man City are brave sending Weiss to the SPL, I'm just waiting on his leg getting split in 2. The SPL is really getting worse, there is no attempt to play football. The modern game is more physical now, including the big leagues, but the SPL needs clamped down. Jelavic is a big lad that likes to run with the ball and he'll likely be picking up many more nasty challenges. Sadly the Scottish mentality praises the get the man if not the ball attitude, which in foreign cultures would be laughed at.
  8. In fairness, how many signings in the last 10 years have been conducted smoothly?
  9. Bilbao are a decent team and generally always a solid mid table or higher La Liga side. Valencia's form in the league is frightening. Why would we play 4-4-2 against them? We'd get torn apart. If anything a 4-5-1 is the most offensive formation we could really adopt.

    Mr Naismith

He was a wonderkid at Killie. Arsene Wenger after all did give him a trial. Came to us and looked pretty awful on the most part. One of many attackers not helped by being shifted around in different positions. Looks like he has now adapted to his position and a run of games is helping him immensely. He is a deep lying forward originally (or a second striker) and sometimes such players can struggle wide in a midfield 4. He now looks every bit the player that we thought we were getting. I wonder if when he first came and simply got a run in his proper position then we might have had a different player in recent years. He's hit form at the right time because at 24 an attacking player is not going to develop all that much more.
  11. Walter's fanboy types another boring essay. Walter has played lots of youths? Hmmm Remember the state of our squad when he left first time round? Advocaat had to buy a whole new squad which was the catalyst in our endless financial problems. Maybe if he'd been bringing in youth players we wouldn't have had to spend buckets of gold. Walter's doing well just now but he's not immune from criticism.
  12. He was hardly an 'unknown youngster'. He had played several games in serie A and was attracting a lot of interest.
  13. You can't 'flatter to deceive' when you are top and unbeaten in La Liga, even early on in the season. Losing a late goal to man utd and drawing with a very strong Atletico Madrid side hardly takes much shine off this fact. PS - Before any game kicked off 3rd place would have to be the basic target. Bursaspor are nothing special and the Turkish big clubs are nothing like what they were a few seasons ago.
  14. Our scouting track record of unearthing young unknown foreign players doesn't give me any inspiration about this signing.

Don't believe everything you hear...I doubt they spent much more in the summer than we did.
  16. Valencia will destroy us if we're not careful, unfortunately. As they did to Bursaspor.
  17. Despite not playing well last night I think Valencia will be the hardest team in our group. Top of La Liga the best league in the world. Man Utd are not what they were. Valencia have also lost key players but don't look any worse for it. Spanish clubs are notorious for selling their best players then bringing through other players who are just as good.

Who the hell did they spend £70m on in the summer? Sounds like nonsense to me. Half their signings were free.

It's pretty difficult to put out any side that doesn't have at least a couple of 'attacking players'. It worked last night but it's also the first 3 points in the CL for 3 years... Smith got it right last night but countlessly in the CL he hasn't got it right, particularly in his first stint outwith 92/93. Try to look at the bigger picture and not just 'Oor Watties awshum cuz he won and ranjurz are tha besht'. BTW - where on earth did you hear they were the 5th biggest spenders in Europe?

As delighted as I am tonight, I still find you ever so annoying. I personally think you just say anything to go with the grain and don't really have any clue about football.
  21. And the trust wondered why Murray ignored them? Jesus I thought we were a mess, the RST are a shambles.
  22. Follow Follow is a mess. There is no control, mods just do what the fuck they want.
  23. Do any of those clubs have as backward and infraststructure as us? Barcelona is a poor example, they have a gigantic fan base which elects a competent president to run the club. Nobody with any money is interested in investing money into a Scottish club unless they have an interest in the particular club because it is unprofitable.
  24. He sounds fucking pathetic. This is why I'm skeptical about any fan involvement in board rooms proceedings. They're not qualified to do anything other than watch football.
