    No guarantees no, but obviously the better the reputation the more likely success is. It could be that Paul Le Guen isn't a good manager, his success at Lyon could be due to the players he inherited and luck

    Odd you miss out City and Villarreal the strongest sides there. Then there's the likes of Leverkusen who are 3rd top in Germany, far ahead of Bayern. We'd stand little chance against Liverpool, Zenit and Ruban too

    You miss out Bursaspor. Whilst most of these seeded Europa sides are shit compared to the CL teams, they have the players to easily take care of us. Not to mention some coaches capable of doing a Kaunas/Gothenburg/Unirea or Uncle Wattie

    In other words, we don't have a hope in hell. I almost hope we draw a really good team, so we're not embarrassed by a less so one. A quick painless exit as opposed to an embarrassing defeat. The Europa League at the end of the day carries no significance unless we have a run, so lets concentrate on winning another title.

    Either something went on behind the scenes or Newcastle are simply showing more signs of being a retarded football cllub. Given they are shambolic at getting decent managers and the fact he was doing pretty damn well, their wish to get someone with more pedigree is quite hilarious. Particularly given they're wanting someone recently sacked by Southampton. Funny old game.

    In Europe for every Guardiola there's 20 Roy Keanes, Zolas, Southgates etc... So many good former players crash and burn in the UK getting big jobs too early. In McCoist's case though he has a fair bit of coaching experience here. Honestly I don't see him being a huge success and long term would like to see us back as a big club playing good football coaching by someone who can make a dent in Europe. Realistically? We'll take whatever we get and no top manager would go near us.

    He's had bad periods here too under Walter. He's always showed flashes of brilliance combined with moments of horror but you are probably right in saying that he seems to be mantaining some sort of high quality. I feel though that his little period is over, he's still scoring though.

    When they make up pish they could at least make it semi-believable. With Pato, Inzaghi, Robinho, Ronaldinho and Ibrahimovic firing Ac Milan to the top of Serie A Kenny would look like an idiot even in the Rossoneri reserves
