Actually much of the last 10 years I have commented negatively/realistically on various aspects of this mess of a club.

We're never going to have high net expenditure, if any at all. Fact is Walter has spent money.

January 2011 Transfer Window - Healy, Diouf and Bartley IN

Billy fucking Mehmet? ahahahahaha I'm beyond despair -
You seem to fail to grasp the difference in beating the Russians at their own game and actually just crossing our fucking halfway line and trying to get a goal We may as well not have turned up

I want something a bit better than 'alright'. The standard is so poor here that we should only sign other spl players who really stand out. We have Naismith, Miller, Laffety and Jelavic not to mention John Fleck who I'd sooner get a run of games in attack. Why the hell would we buy another striker? A priority is surely creative midfielders, a winger and improving the dreadful defence Goodwillie will probably be seen as another number that can play anywhere in midfield or attack zzzzz

I'm beyond worrying about our future. The Circus will continue to unfold and things will get far more depressing as a crumbling squad gets older and an owner gets more and more disinterested in the club. I've got to the point where I hardly even care, it's not worth bothering about. We're shit and know we are but so are they so the best we can do is just hope to beat them to the SPL title. My point a la Europe was just that amongst all the depravity and shit we had a chance to actually win a European competition and didn't take it

I just said what he did was 'great'. That doesn't excuse what followed. You get nothing for finishing second place. Was a real chance to really make a name of ourselves but history only remembers the victors I'd rather we 'had a go' and got gubbed than pack the defence and try to lose by a respectable margin. We were never going to stop a team as creative as Zenit from opening us up either way

Getting to the final was great but I've never seen a side get to a cup final and make such little attempt to win it. There was no away goal to save Walter here - it was embarrassing and baffling. If I can recall correctly we had something like 2 or 3 shots on goal...
-
I never understand the 'players are to blame angle'. Who is in charge of the players? Who signed many of them? If a country loses a war do you blame the troops? No you blame the man in charge.
-
Go add up his total expenditure since returning then take a cold shower.

Terrific post.

Did he not spend nigh on £20m when he first came back (the reason we are in the financial dirt again but obviously Murrays fault mainly)? Let's not forget this is a 2 team league and one of those teams have been dire ever since MON left and have not had a competent manager since he left
-
It's not my job to do that, it should be our manager and scouts. Something is certainly not right when Kilmarnock can attract a decent midfielder like Eremenko albeit on a loan deal. I could list a lot of decent midfielders that wouldn't cost a fortune but what exactly is the point? The fact is ANY professional football club on the planet should be able to get a creative midfielder. Your typical sunday league teams will have guys in the middle of the park with a little bit of talent We're not going to go out and sign an Iniesta, De Rossi, Pirlo, Xavi etc but are you telling me we can't sign anyone who play against a team like Hamilton and open up? Fuck me stick Gazza in his present state on the park against the garbage we come up against and he could still probably create chances...
-
Quite. Calscots point is baffling to say the least, not for the first time on here. The young guys have all impressed and should feature more
-
Regarding PLG, prestige isn't the same as ability. He has shown since Lyon that his managerial talents are questionable
-
You've missed out the bit where he's been knocked out in Europe by the likes of FC Kaunas...
-
What's the justification behind that? At no point have we over used youth players, if anything under used. We have had young guys thrown into champions league games and they haven't let anyone down. Again another young guy, Ness, comes in to a big game and ends up being one of our most impressive players. Considering we are skint, have a crumbling squad and appear to have some talented young guys waiting to step in, using them much more certainly seems the answer. Let's not forget we are about to hit an almighty fixture pileup and Walter probably has about 13 or 14 players he'll want to use

If Lionel feckin Messi was playing every bloody position other than goalie he'd soon get pish too. Whittaker is a right back or right midfielder. I'd like to see him IT's a shame, he could have made a great player.
-
You have to go back to Ronald De Boer and Mikel Arteta to see the last real creative talents, which is a long time ago. Obviously we can no longer afford players of that quality but for gods sake we can still get half decent players capable of creating in the spl and putting on a little bit of a 'show'.
-
I keep hearing he's doing a great job with a small squad but is it not largely his fault the squad is so small? He spent about £6m in the summer, the amount most SPL managers could only dream of spending. Surely he could have signed some more backup. He spent a lot when he first came, largely on mediocrity.
-
I kept hearing cameras going off which annoyed me more than anything. And the coughs were a bit annoying too, is it that hard to be completely silent for 60 seconds unless you are dying of man flu I also have to say I was near bubbling when the team was led out for the silence

haha, what rubbish. Chelsea have been light years ahead of Arsenal for years and up until a month or 2 ago when Chelsea collapsed. How many Arsenal players would get a game for an on form Chelsea? Strange post.

Really? Whenever I or others mentioned it on ff everyone struggled to find a single word wrong with it. Would you like to point out what is unfair about it? It hits the nail on the head 100% This part of the article particularly rings true: The lines in bold particularly reminds me of someone...

He's had 2 good euro runs in how many years? We've probably all seen this article a million times but again and again it hits the bullseye http://www.toffeeweb.com/club/managers/Smith.asp
