Yes but unfortunately some of us also have braincells We're more likely to sign Timmy Mallet or Timeh from South Park
  2. deja vu with all of the above http://www.toffeeweb.com/club/managers/Smith.asp dum dee dum dum dum
  3. Your logic makes no sense 'champ' (I've noticed you develop a cuntish tone when you know you're wrong). I am talking about youngsters playing out of necessity. Ness played because none of the experienced players were fit. Having other youngsters fit doesn't dispute my point... And yes Kyle Hutton had games (as I just fucking mentioned) out of NECESSITY. I never said 'the kids never play', I said the only play when they're forced to. Do I have to break this down even further Do keep up. Oh and yes we had an 18 year old centre half as backup for Weir and Bougherra. We did have feck all cover at CB. IF someone like Ness can go on a run of games towards the end of the season keeping out a fully fit Edu or McCulloch then I'll start to believe that youngsters actually have an opportunity of dislodging more experienced players from the XI
  4. I remember being so impressed that we were signing someone in Holland's XI, seemed we were really going places
  5. Yeah bro you got it congrats With regard to Ness, who else could have played in that game in centre mid who was fully fit? And I'd tell you which youngsters haven't had a proper crack at the whip only they hardly ever fucking play so it's quite hard to decide. Darren Cole played well in the champions league then was never seen again, smashin'. Kyle Hutton played well against Man Utd then got dropped, what was the point in that? If he can perform against them why not let him retain the position?
  6. Would this include the 2 years we couldn't make any signings and the huge injury problems we had where we were forced to play youngsters? When both McCulloch and Edu are fully fit Ness will be dropped regardless of how he is playing.
  7. In my entire life this seems to have been a problematic position so I'd have to go with Hutton too. We seem to have had a lot of problems with the wide areas in general in recent years except left back which has had a series of solid performers
  8. I'd have no faith in that at all. We'd probably get a couple of Velickas, Beattie's and McCullochs then see the rest disappear in a mysterious puff of smoke. Essentially, McGregor is one of our few good players and we are shocking at reinvesting money so selling him would be a disaster
  9. For all we know we aren't remotely run by the bank and we're just being run by our owner who has little interest in paying for anyone. The media could just think we're being more careful, instead of on the brink of financial meltdown and being completely run by the bank. Loads of teams are tightening their belts and in much higher debt, not so many have managers telling the press that the bank have entire control over off the field matters. Valencia were in far bigger financial trouble than us but still held onto their prized assets before getting a huge amount for them.
  10. IMO Van Der Saar peaked several years ago. He was particularly shaky in a previous season though I cant recall which
  11. The Rangers PR machine strikers again ffs. Whether the bank run us or not, we get no benefit from telling the media that we are strapped for cash. Christ, we'd be better creating a wall of silence and just not telling the media ANYTHING because everything we tell them shoots us in the feckin foot. Walter says the bank runs the club A week later our biggest asset is attracting derisory offers because 'bank run club' Can we put an employment add in the papers for someone competent in PR and marketing please?
  12. He's the only keeper I've seen get rave reviews in Europe to be linked with such a poultry offer. If he played for FC Cluj he'd probably be worth more
  13. Van Der Saar isn't half the keeper he was and hasn't been so for some time. I'm surprised they have not replaced him sooner and they should have kept Foster. Van Der Saar is lucky to have had Rio and Vidic in front of him in recent seasons
  14. That's a bizzare take on things considering Miller is a mediocre footballer and Bougherra has been gash this season whilst McGregor has been a standout keeper in Europe for a few seasons. Alexander is coming towards the end of his career. Once keepers hit 33/34/35 they generally start to lose it
  15. Well if those clubs are interested we can spark off a massive bidding war....or no doubt tell the media we won't sell for a penny less than £6m We should be issuing a hands off warning then leaving it at that. IF they still want him they will bid more. Unfortunately with our horrific PR and constantly telling the media how poor we are, derisory offers are likely unless we get luck like with Hutton and Cuellar and someone goes high. What I imagine we will tell the media is we don't want to sell him but will for the right price, in other words 'Aye he's pure up for sale guys just give us a half decent amount and hes yours'. Selling him will likely be a huge mistake. A good goalkeeper is worth his weight in gold and McGregor is in his peak years. People think Alexander can just take over but he's almost 33 and could start to decline very soon. To get a keeper as consistent McGregor who can perform internationally and in Europe would probably cost most clubs nigh on £15m +. Considering how wrong we always get it, I would have little faith in us prudently reinvesting this money, if at all. Knowing us we would spend none of it and end being much worse off than before or spend it all on rubbish and end up in more debt PS - IF McGregor played for the mhanks the quoted figures would be double at least. They would also have a bit of balls and tell everyone to fuck off.
  16. Derby might tell us to fuck off and say they want more for a decent player even if there is only 6 months left on his contract...
  17. I dunno, if Adam was English I guarantee the quoted figures would be a lot higher than 4 m . I bet if Matthew Etherington, the other top performing midfielder at a shit team in the epl this season, was being touted for offers it would be a hell of a lot more than Charlie. And he's a lot older
  18. Should be worth £9 or 10 million but knowing us we'll fuck it up somehow. Does anyone know if McGregor has any particular wish to stay at the club? We only get fed lies and horse shit so who knows.
  19. He's easily worth double, don't know why the bids are so low. Generally in the EPL anyone performing to Adam's level would go for 10-15 million easily. I'd hazard a guess that being Scottish and playing for a small club isn't helping their cause. Even young English players in the championship go for a fortune I don't think Liverpool would be a good place for him to go though. They're a club in decline and the team wouldn't be built around him like it is at Blackpool. Some midfield flair players need to be the main man in a team to perform well eg Van Der Vaart and Riquelme who both performed poorly at bigger clubs
  20. Beattie's cause isn't helped by being partnered by LAUGHerty

The type of player we should be signing if possible. Much better getting future European stars as opposed to old duds like McCulloch. But I have reservations on account of I can't see us spending any money, loads of other teams are interested and I can't think of a single decent young foreigner we've signed since Arteta.
  22. He's scored 1 goal all season in Spain, not good going for an attacker. His goal ratio overall in the SPL wasn't great, though he did score important goals. I think Nacho is another forward at this club who was a victim of being played out of position too often. He banged in 50 goals in 2 seasons (his final season at Dundee and first at us) but never looked the same danger thereafter
  23. I'm sure he forgot about us as soon as he left Ibrox, the hideous cretin. I just hope that when he comes back with his tail between his legs at the end of the season we don't take him back.
