  1. I have been resisting posting on this thread for at least 16 minutes Sometimes it'd kind to be kind.
  2. Absoluely incredible. At home. In a must-win game in the Champions League. Against Unirea Urziceni (whoever the fuck they are ). All this talk of "not being able to compete" is seeping through the club and onto the park IMHO. We need leadership.
  3. Rangers ......................Unirea Urziceni 1 .............Goals scored ..................4 1 .............Shots on target ..............4 7 .............Shots wide ....................5 7 .............Shots blocked ................1 1 .............Yellow card.................... 2 22 ...........Fouls committed............. 15 4 .............Corners .........................2 1 .............Offsides......................... 0 43' 45'' .......Ball. Poss. (time)....... 45' 57'' 48% ...........Ball. Poss. (%) ............52% Unbelievable on so many levels. Against Unirea Urziceni at home? http://www.uefa.com/competitions/ucl/fixturesresults/round=2000028/match=2000408/report=st.html (if you dare)
  4. Nuno Capucho. Unless there are some (well) hidden feasts we have yet to see. Maybe he's just off-form.
  5. There will be a future mate - and, I believe, a good one. But there's no real harm in discussing how bad things are at the low points. And they definitely are bad.
  6. Yep. How might it be good?
  7. You hear a lot about it in football don't you? The backbone of the team, the spine of the team etc. Well, that's what we're missing from top to bottom. On the park, the keeper is maybe a 7-8/10, tops. Nothing special, but he's OK. The central defence at this particular moment is not in good shape. A 40 year-old trying his best and a fairly talented chap who seems to miss a lot of games and clearly has eyes on 'something better'. The player who leads and dominates the midfield and is our leader on the park is.... erm.... emmm. er... Our centre forward who bangs in the goals on big and less-big nights and who is our hero is.. erm... uh.. sorry.... Off the park? Our Chairman is in America, trying to sell the club. Our CEO is executing a specific business plan which aims to cut costs and scale down. Our Manager (allegedly) is pissed-off, concerned and without a contract. Everything's wrong, top to bottom. I really don't know where we go from here
  8. Dunno. I think Walter's actually showing signs of cracking. Which is bad for everybody.
  9. I was going to "thank" your post, but I decided not to. If there was an "agree" option, that's what I meant.
  10. I stayed till the end. The hardest thing wasn't watching - it was listening. I wanted to scream, it was so bad. So much anger - and no wonder. Absolutely gutted, but also still in shock.
  11. Ferguson was NOT doing it before he left. The team won the double without him. It's still possible that it has somehow affected team spirit though.
  12. Time for cool heads amongst the frenzy. There is something quite disturbing about Rangers right now. I would like an explanation from somebody who knows. If anybody knows, that is. From where I'm sitting it looms like a leadership problem, top to bottom.
  13. Plus another £8m for Paddy McCourt. Time to worry, Bears.
  14. OMG, you have my sympathy there mate. In principal, attracting more "families" is a good idea, I mean why not? More of anybody is good for revenue....but that's the thing... it's only about money (as was clearly stated). What about what fans actually want? Maybe in 50 years football will be a family sport like baseball. But at the moment, it's not and most of the people I know who are amongst the people who keep the game alive don't want it to be. So I hope these guys at the SPL and elsewhere know what they're doing and have calculated the risks. Because they are definitely there. And also, I must say; the idea that the SPL will plant people in the stands and no doubt put pressure on clubs who have a low 'rating' (based on the fan profile the SPL has unilaterally defined as being 'desirable') is beyond belief. I mean, how ridiculous is that?
  15. TB, thank you very much. Without commenting point-by-point, I can assure you that the general thrust of what you're saying will definitely be fed into discussions about how the Trust moves forward. I can imagine coming back to you to discuss in more detail at some point, if that's OK?
  16. If that's what you think then that's up to you. I'm just telling you that I'm not really interested in being the butt of your 'jokes'.
  17. Re-read it Bluedell. I said re-validating our objectives against our aims.
  18. What is funny about explaining the difference between an aim and an objective (and it was you who asked for the explanation) using an established example? If you're just going to take the piss when I try to be helpful I'm not really going to bother with you mate. Seriously.
  19. Indeed. And members will be able to access AGM minutes very soon indeed.
  20. Here is an example of the aims and objectives identified by an Employment Project that wanted to focus on its outcomes: The overall aim of the project: "To improve the lives of people in London who are long term homeless" Within its overall aim it identified the following specific aims. Specific aims: To increase users lifestyle stability To increase users skills To increase users confidence and motivation To enable users to find employment Once it had agreed its aims, the project identified the objectives or the activities/services it was providing to achieve the aims: Objectives: To provide information and advice on housing and resettlement To provide training on core job skills and job search skills To offer supported work placements To support users in applying for jobs To facilitate a support group for users In this example, there will be various sub-objectives which support the objectives listed above. As I said, I'll be happy to discuss these things with members and on GersNet, going forward. I can't commit to timescales because it's now WIP and it depends on how quickly we can complete it. If anyone would like to offer constructive input at this stage i.e. suggested priorities or objectives then I would be delighted to listen to suggestions on the forum or via PM if you prefer. I wouldn't expect the circulation of membership numbers to be a feature of this type of work.
  21. Agree with this. Something's just not right and it's what often happens when there is uncertainty in the air.
  22. For those who are interested; the Trust has begun a process which will see us re-validate our objectives against our overall aims. When this happens it's normal for some new objectives to emerge (or at the very least, some form of re-prioritisation or re-focus). I'm going to be heavily involved in this so I'll be happy to advise members and GersNet, as and when. Cheers.
  23. Not necessarily. Smith said after the game on Saturday that he didn't even know what the problem was because he hadn't spoken to Bougherra. He was not happy. Didn't look too good (even at that point), so generally speaking, it was fair to report. IMHO.
  24. What about McCoist!!! Don't worry about it mate, Larsssson could be the shittiest coach in the world.
  25. It's symbolic and symbolism is hugely important in football and fan culture - especially (probably) at Rangers. The town, the identity, the strip, the badge, the colours, the logo, the stadium; everything is massively symbolic to supporters. At Rangers, you can chuck in a few more regarding culture and so on. Most fans are fiercely protective of their patch and want to be proud of it - and rightly so. It is part of us, and we are part of it. That's what business can never understand.
