  1. Scotland 17′s Open With A Win Report on tonight's game, three Rangers players involved http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2012/03/20/scotland-17s-open-with-a-win/
  2. Savings made on youth players would be insignificant, most of the youth coaches are part time. Mr Sinclair on the other hand 150 - 200k pa !! We could get someone to do a better job for nothing.
  3. 17′s Crash At Lesser Hampden Report on tonight's Glasgow Cup game posted http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2012/03/19/17s-crash-at-lesser-hampden/ The bear result doesn't tell the full story, but I still think this is unacceptable. Even though it was a young Rangers team ( 7 under 17 missing) and Queens Park have a good youth set up (perhaps we should look at their HOY David McCallum in the future), this is another example of Sinclair's regime's failings.
  4. Glasgow Cup Win Over Clyde Report on tonight's Glasgow Cup tie now posted. http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2012/03/14/glasgow-cup-win-over-clyde/
  5. "Results don't matter" is correct to a certain extent but there is plenty other evidence. How many of the current 19's did he bring through the " Rangers System" ? Lets look at Saturdays youth team Alan Smith - Joined from Ireland at U18 Kyle McAusland - Signed for a development fee from Ayr Utd at U14 Adel Gafaiti - Joined from France at U17 (may have cost a fee) Stuart Urquhart - Signed for a development fee from Hamilton Accies at U15 Matty Clarke - Joined from Northern Ireland at U17 Darren Ramsay - Came through the system Lewis McLeod - Came through the system Kamil Wiktorski - Joined from Poland at U17 (may have cost a fee) Fraser Aird - Joined from Canada at U17 Robbie Crawford - Came through the system Barrie McKay - Released by Kilmarnock at U18 Subs Liam Kelly - Came through the system Gregor Fotheringham - Came through the system Tom Skogsrud - Expensive import from EPL at U19, not getting a game Kim Skogsrud - Expensive import from EPL at U19, not getting a game Aaron McGregor - Joined from Northern Ireland at U18 So only three that started was brought through from the younger teams. He can claim some credit for the two "purchases", so lets look at his record there. The following have been brought in for a fee and been released in the past year without making it to U19 level. Callum McConnell - From St. Johnstone development fee paid now back at St.Johnstone George Scott - From Clyde development fee paid now at Hearts Callum Wyllie - From Alloa significant fee paid now at Hearts Marc Dyer - From Ayr Utd significant fee paid now back at Ayr Utd Darren McGill - from Kilmarnock SPL developmet fee paid now at Ayr United Freddy Espling - I assume cost a fee now back in Sweden. None of these players made it to U19's Add to this another two U19 imports from EPL, Jack Werndley and Nikolaj Kholert both released in January after six months.

  7. How long can we suffer Jimmy Sinclair ? With the developement teams taking on Inverness CT at the weekend, The 15's & 17's were up in the Highlands and lost 5-2 and 2-1. The 13's drew 1-1 at home, with only the 14's winning 12-0. So of the four age groups we could only beat Inverness CT at 14's. I know its difficult times, but the youth deparment will not progress under the current Head Of Youth, but do we have the money to make a change ? In my opinion we have to find it. And apprently he has been in Qatar for the past week at a coaching seminar !!

  14. Rangers Youths Represent Scotland Report on tonight's Scotland Under 17's game http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2012/02/28/rangers-youths-represent-scotland/
  15. I am just a Rangers supporter that has always taken an interest in the youth setup. I decided to start the blog due to the official site having minimal coverage on the youths, it has been a bit better this season. I don't have special access, anybody can attend the games the same as me. A result of the blog means I maybe hear the odd snippet, but I don't have any special access.
  16. Andy Mitchell signed a two year contract after being released from Man City, I have to say he was a disappointment last year and probably wouldn't have got another year if he hadn;t already signed. he is a midfielder Chris Hegarty was signed on a one year contract from Millwall and did very well in the youths last season, subsequently got another year. A centre back but not the tallest. Due McCoist's pathetic policy of declaring all bounce games at Murray Park closed door I haven't seen either of them this season.
  17. Not many 17/18 year olds play regularly in the SPL, can only think of Fraser Fyvie at the moment, he is an exception which you get now and again. The fact is at the moment our 17/18 year olds are nowhere near that standard, but as I said that is an exception. It is generally a year or two later before players get established. We have a better standard at 15/16 year old and hopefully a few of this will progress. I don't think its a coincidence that DJ, Durrant and Derek Ferguson broke through when the club was going through a lean spell.
  18. At the moment none from the current youths, a few good prospects but they are not at this stage ready to play for the first team in the SPL. The only current U19 that a thought could be called in an emergency is Kamil Wiktorski, but I have heard he has been told he is not getting another contract when his current one expires in the summer.
  19. Jamie has done really well and has recently broke into the U19's, scoring in their last two games. Last night's game was a game of few chances so not much opportunity for strikers to shine. A great run along the byline from Jamie led to the penalty. Despite the first impressions given to him by the club being not very professional ( he was asked to stay for a further week's trial as "Head of Youth" was still on holiday") he evetually signed and has looked the part and made great progress. Now I don't know what is worse, the fact that the head of youth was still on holiday or that there was nobody else deemed competent enough to make a decision in his absence.
  20. Glasgow Cup Win Over Celtic Report from tonights Glasgow Cup game http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2012/02/21/glasgow-cup-win-over-celtic/
  21. Report here http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2012/02/21/glasgow-cup-win-over-celtic/
  22. They have been average at best, and on a significant wage for youth players, plus a house I believe. The other two imports from the EPL, Jack Werndley and Nicolaj Kohlert have gone. Now going with younger players, four U17's played yesterday ( Stuart Urquhart, Darren Ramsay, Fraser Aird and Jamie Burrows, Luca Gaparrotto has also played but is injured). I said we should have done this from the start of the season. Its imperative we keep the youths intact especially the U17's and the very young age groups, If not we will lose them to other clubs and will have to start from scratch someday.
