  1. He seems to have jumped a head of Tom Walsh at the moment although they are not the same type of player. I thought him or Luca might have got on when the game was safe last week.

  3. A couple of reports to catch up on http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/08/11/u15s-outplayed-by-hibernian/ http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/08/11/garry-lynch-memorial-game/
  4. Young team myth. Of the starting lineup only McLeod, and subs Aird & McKay would not be an overage player in the U20's league.
  5. Of the 14 players the played yesterday McCoist gave EIGHT of them new contracts last season, in addition he paid a significant fee for Templeton. That only leaves McCulloch, Wallace and Little who were already at the club and "free agent" signings Faure and Black. If he doesn't think these payers are good enough, why did he sanction new contracts for so many ?
  6. Emphatic Pre- Season Win For U15′s Report on today's game at Murray Park http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/08/04/emphatic-pre-season-win-for-u15s/
  7. I only got along to the Carlisle game, they were more experienced (front two of Lee Miller & Lewis Guy) and Rangers were a bit unlucky. Dunfermline team had an average age of 18, including two Sinclair released that I have highlighted in the past, Lewis Martin & Lewis Spence. I have not found any details of the Killie & Thistle teams. I would point out we will have a young Under 20 this season with only three final year U20's on our books. Having said that I have also pointed out the steady regression under Sinclair. The17/18's have also played four pre-season games. Only win was against Stirling Uni, drew with Sheffield United, lost to Dundee (2-3) and Sunderland (2-4).
  8. Already played five friendlies beating Dundee United 3-1. losing to Dunferline (1-2), Kilmarnock (0-1), Carlisle (2-3) and Thistle (0-1).
  9. Under 20′s Lose To Carlisle United First report of the new season http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/07/27/under-20s-lose-to-carlisle-united/
  10. You have ask why he was given a new contract.
  11. New contracts for Hegarty, Naismith and Mitchell now seem totally bizarre. Where as Steven Smith and Ricky Foster are a decent standard for where we are, younger alternatives of a similar standard with potential to improve such as Tom Hateley and Ryan McGivern would have been better options in my opinion.
  12. I don't know for sure, I was only getting brief details and the message I got was "They were disqualified because one of the subs took a penalty". Its not quite a simple, youth football can be different and where a rolling subs are used its normally any of the squad that can take the penalties. But I'm sure the rules for this tournament were laid out before the start.
  13. Its an SFA initiative and ultimately will include the five clubs in the Falkirk area. Initially its only Falkirk and Stenhousemuir, those youth setups are being merged to create Forth Valley Academy which will be based at Stirling University. I believe Stirling Albion, East Stirling and Alloa Athletic will be incorporated at a later date. 15. 12′s Take On Dumbarton 13′s Report on tonight's game and Scotland U15's squad http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/06/06/12s-take-on-dumbarton-13s/ Found an interesting article on the boy from Uppingham Town FC. I admit I haven't seen him play, but its still good to know he is a bluenose. A teenager from Rutland has been called up for Scotland’s U15 squad after being talent-spotted at training sessions with premier league clubs. Jordan Neil, from Caldecott, plays for Uppingham Town’s U16s and Leicester City’s elite squad as well as attending sessions with West Bromwich Albion and Everton. But despite the attention from major clubs, he says he was still stunned when the Scottish FA called. “I was gobsmacked when they said they wanted me to come for training,” said the Uppingham Community College pupil. “I didn’t know what to say.” Scottish scouts had been tipped off about Jordan’s potential and they contacted West Brom to pass on reports. Now Jordan will take part in a 40-strong Scottish training camp at the end of this month. If that goes well he may then represent Scotland in a Home Nations tournament before a tour of Italy. Jordan, who plays up front or wide on the left, only joined Uppingham Town U16s midway through last season but scored nine goals in his seven appearances. He has added nine in 10 to that tally this season as the side sit mid-table in just their second season. Uppingham coach Richard Lewin said: “He made an instant impact, becoming our leading goalscorer. “He’s one of the youngest members and playing against lads much older than him. “He is very talented. When we speak with coaches from the teams we have played against they always pick him out.” Jordan began playing football when he was five in his native Scotland and his parents, Cameron and Natalie, paid credit to Uppingham for helping Jordan to continue playing after they moved to Rutland. Beyond the national squad selection, Jordan is on the radar of several top English an Scottish clubs. “Everton was the best. The set-up and training was brilliant.” Given the choice, however, he admitted Rangers would always be his first choice. http://www.rutland-times.co.uk/sport/football/jordan-stunned-by-call-from-the-scotland-squad-1-4722855

  19. Yes I think he has a chance, although in my opinion our best attacking midfield prospect at the moment is Tom Walsh
  20. Young 17′s Draw With Hearts Report on tonight's game http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2013/05/21/young-17s-draw-with-hearts/
  21. Charlie signed a one year contract.
  22. Hi Craig, the Rangers pro youth teams don't play in the tournament, but the Supporters Association Boys Club teams usually do. It is a good standard tournament and of course Rangers scouts will be watching. I know current U15 player Lewis White who goes full time at the start of next season was scouted there playing for Musselburgh Windsor two years ago. I'll try and get along again this year, but at the end of July the Rangers teams will be playing pre season games.
  23. I would put Gasparotto ahead of him for that position, probably at this stage McAusland too, as he has a bit more experience, but he is a player I would have hoped to have kept
  24. Kyle McAusland appears to have done well playing twenty games at Ayr United, I know he missed a few games through injury. Not sure if he played full-back or centre-back, he always looked more comfortable in the centre. Callum Gallagher made an initial impact at Alloa before fall out of the picture, he started five games and came on as a sub in four. Gregor Fotheringham only made three appearances for Forfar, I'm sure he already knew his contract was not getting renewed when he went there on loan. Stuart Urquhart had a short loan at Dumbarton did well in three games then got injured, when it became clear he wasn't signing a new contract Rangers seem to lose interest in him by all accounts.
