The Summer 2023 Rangers Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread
yuddie replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Just to expand on this, the Sun have picked it up: Less than 2m for a full intl is pretty shrewd business, good age as well. I won't hold my breath just yet though. -
Haha, didn't we beat or draw against Madrid a couple of seasons ago in pre-season? Thing is there will be doom mongers with the knives out in the comments, cba to check.
-
Not sure if it's a pre season game per say but I'll fire in the article anyways, won't begrudge a clean sheet - we all know what a few of those can do in pre season for a defence e.g. 55. Got a lot of time for Martindale.

Spoke to him before joining apparently, Balogun would've sold it to him no doubt. He's tall but looks lean which I like, not scrawny but a mean athleticism. If cifuentes does come in (🤷) then a cb and I'd be pretty content with that window to be honest. Then it's a matter of trimming the squad which needs to happen. -

Cifuentes is shrewd if we can get him for between £1-2m, it might even be cheaper with his contract up soon. If a Saudi bolt out of the blue comes in for a player (wright/kamara/tav) then it could turbo charge our budget for this window and January. Although I think Morelos is a tap in for Gerrard. I'll keep saying it, left centre back is crucial and it's an area where we could develop and sell on for big profit.. look at Max Kilman at Wolves, bought for less than 100k and subject to 40m interest from Napoli. That's why I think Panzo or Cresswell makes sense, young, left footed and homegrown for English clubs..there's potential money to be had. But first, trophies! Good left footed centre halves are thin on the ground, English ones even more so. -

I think we're being strung along by LAFC to be honest, there seems to be a great deal of snobbery in the US towards Scottish football. -

I mean, aye. I'd take £5m for Tav within the realms of the non-saudi transfer market but that's why I called it a 'big bid'. £10m+ gives you a chance to look into good prospects like Max Johnston or Conor Bradley, or some good level senior players. -

By the way, if a big bid of £10m+ came in from Saudi for Tav I'd laugh, thank him and say goodbye and reinvest. It would be a blessing in disguise with that sort of money I think, even if Tav contributes 'numbers'. -
He's well spoken and assured and from what I saw in the training video yesterday he is vocal and commanding as he's said he is, you can hear him throughout. Hopefully he can be no.1 for the next 4/5 seasons, it would be amazing if a Rangers player got an England call up...who was the last? Can't be many if any post Gazza? There's a lack of talent with the English goalkeepers so it's definitely possible. All hypothetical haha.

Aye I just saw that come up on my feed, £4m I saw. To be honest I think it's bs but if it did happen...🤣 -

So it's just over £4m with a potential for over £5m for a 28 soon 29 year old. This boy needs to starting bagging sharpish or the usual naysayers will be out in force. I'll back him though, hopefully he's prolific for us. Positive signs from the new board which is good. -

Fully agree, we need to halve our goals conceded or at least cut it down by a third. We've scored enough goals to win leagues for years now, it's the defending that's cost us. Strikers grab the headlines and the Football Twitter accounts by the balls though so people won't be arsed until we let a 2 goal lead slip against Motherwell at home in the run in. -

4lads is usually pretty concrete when he says it's done so it looks like he's coming in. We'll want 20+ a season from him for it to be worth it and/or trophies. -
Yeah I thought it was pretty common, it was a bit of an event and badge of honour if you did well in it.
-
Aahh maybe it's a generational thing? I did a bleep test every year from about 12/13-16. It was nowhere near that level but aye, it's tough. It might also be different in England to Scotland as well to be fair.

If it's 10% of sale and not profit then we've pulled Ajax's pants down there. Looks like it will be about £1-1.5m if that's the case. So we could get £2.5m from Tillman and Bassey which is pretty shrewd, although I doubt it would be a lump sum this summer. If it is then great, we need more liquid. -

Fair enough, I just couldn't (could not) be arsed to type that kind of response. Is it quite stringent on grammar and spelling on this forum? I might include mishaps like that in my posts so apologies in advance. -

Update on Panzo, the Sun is a rag but I couldn't find the quoted Daily Mail article. Looks like he'll be coming in. Happy with it, young enough to sell on if he does well and obviously has talent..hopefully he'll be good defensively and be able to improve. https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/10904344/jonathan-panzo-rangers-michael-beale-transfer/?utm_campaign=native_share&utm_source=sharebar_native&utm_medium=sharebar_native -

Under Bennett we'll pull the trigger by the looks of it, we would of waited until Jan under Park and the punted. Good to see. -
I thought that was a Bill Shankly line when Beale mentioned he wanted players with 'natural enthusiasm'. Seems like the kind of manager who buys into the history of the clubs he works at, it was good how he spoke about Jimmy Bell and McCoist to Sima as well when showing him around. It's a little detail but I couldn't imagine Gio or Gerrard doing that.

Just watched the short video of the lads going through the tests for pre-season. *SPOILER* Devine and Lundstram come out on top on the bleep test, we've all done them so it's interesting to see who's got an engine and really, a young full back and a box to box midfielder makes sense! I'll link the video in here, some of you might not be able to watch it but I can't help that, apologies. Another thing of note is Cantwells rascal gear haha. https://www.rangers.co.uk/tv#/videos/Training Ground/0_2ce6fb0o

That would be the ideal. I'd punt Kamara, Hagi, Colak and Wright if I could. Get 10m for the four of them. The size of the squad could be a bit of an albatross round the neck for the club if we don't shift players and recuperate some funds. -
Just thought I'd post in here about the midfielders that are getting signed in the prem, the likes of Tonali and Szobozlai (might've butchered that) getting signed for 50/60m and Mac Allister for 35m whilst Declan rice is going for 100m+ with a year left...the English tax is hilarious. There's definite deals to be done in that area for clubs. Fulham and Brighton wanting 100m for Paulinha and Caicedo might not happen though haha. It will be interesting to see what Klopp does with his new midfield because he hasn't coached a good attacking midfielder since Kagawa? Or maybe Gotze? Either way it's been 10 years and if he turns them into water carriers it'll be criminal.

The behind the scenes with Sima is worth a watch to be fair, seems like a quiet one but that just might be the language barrier. People are still saying we need a couple of strikers which is mad considering we've got 6 who can play upfront including Dessers. We'll need to shift one of or both Colak and Roofe imo and then maybe bring in a Josh Maja? Or if we can push the boat out then Danilo. I'd still look at Baccus or Devlin at Hearts if we lose Kamara, both internationals and a good age. -

At least mate aye, 40 a season is the the minimum I'd say. Touch wood.
