I like all three to be fair but watching back the game v Newcastle the home top looks fantastic on the players, definitely my pick of the three and my pick of the Castore era so far. Purely in terms of aesthetics I think they've been a very good supplier but in terms of their actual supplying they aren't stellar.

Audio isn't working either, been fleeced ffs.

Not going to the game today so I'm trying to watch it through rtv, anyone else having trouble? It's just either unmuting and freezing or buffering slightly and not going live.

Looked at the team and staff photo from the trip and I could've sworn I've seen Sima listed as 6'2 on websites? For reference Lammers is listed as 6'3 and probably looks it in this pic. Sima looks shorter than Dessers in this so I'd say he's probably 6 nothing, even Leon King looks taller. Not too arsed but was surprised at how short he looked compared to the others. I'll include a close up I found on my feed, he's next to the lad circled.

Maybe he's 4th choice after all? If he is it's bold and I back it.

Not a fan of Ridvan being in the second XI but still, another clean sheet. I'll link the article.

Got a friendly with Hallescher FC (?) today apparently to cap off the week. I'll include their wiki page if anyone wants to have a brief look at the club, div 3 apparently and if anyone is into the history between West/East Germany then it might be a good quick read. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hallescher_FC

The Summer 2023 Rangers Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread

There's probably a decent chance Beale had come across Danilo when he was in Brazil, if not then then when he was with Ajax. To be honest there's a few footballers I'd let go before Sakala and I don't think £4m is a guarantee to replace the numbers to minutes that we get out of him, as a squad player or starter. Hopefully I'm wrong. Good business on Colak though. The defense needs surgery and if we do bring in some cash hopefully we can bring in a target at the top of the list at LCB. -

Brilliant. I've always thought Sterling looks gnarly. -

If he is actually '5th choice' then I can get along with it, but as has been said, with the injuries that Souttar, Davies and Goldson have been picking up there's a probable chance he'll be more like a 3rd choice at times. I know people won't agree but I'd geniunely rather have Lewis Mayo as '5th choice' to be honest, prem experience, homegrown and has a exemplary recent injury record. If a 35 year old crocked (looking at last season) Leon Balogun is a better choice then our academy is in a worse place than I thought. Nothing against Leon, I like how he's positive about the club when few other ex players are and I'll back him now he's in. I just have a bad gut feeling about this. It will look different if the rumoured exit of Kamara goes through and we get a good LCB in, if not it will look pretty bad. -

By the way, if we re-sign Leon Balogun all of the initial optimism and trust I have in Beale would be killed. Why on earth you can't trust Leon King as a backup, who has pace, instead of Balogun would blow my mind if explained in a manager interview. I'm praying that's it's some moron having a laugh spreading it than Beale actually trying to bring him in, criminal. -
I know this lacks class but I wanted Everton to go down last season and I still want them to go next, they have been begging for relegation with how they've been run for the last 5 seasons. Considering their transfers so far (sweet fa) it looks like it'll be another season of battling against the drop, if Dyche gets them even 5-7 points clear he will be my manager of the season..absolute shambles over there. Got the stadium though.

I'm ready to take some flack for this take but I geniunely thought Ryan Kent had the talent to be a modern great for Rangers. I'm 26 and really started following the club during McLeish and in that time I'd still say he's one of the most talented we've had, we just haven't had players who could go to a place like Dortmund and skin a defence with Hummels and Akanji in it for 90 mins, certainly in the last 20 years. Fans will always hold the transfer fee against him which I don't agree with but can understand, but he definitely could have done more with the ability he had. Wanted to say this as a few fans think he was a waste of a shirt, although he definitely could've done a lot more with his ability.

To be fair Roofe has played 18 more games in the same timespan and is pretty much 1 in 2 (78/36). Per 90 I'd hazard a guess that he's been brilliant. In terms of what we got out of them, Roofe takes this one in my opinion.

Looked at his minutes, works out at about 60k per app.
-
I know we got 55 out of him but 3m for Helander does look a bit silly now in hindsight. He wasn't a dud per say because I thought he was a good player but 36 league appearences in 4 seasons was laughable. Might have my maths wrong here but isn't that like 100k per appearence?

In that football world where Elis Simms is going for £8m? Or Kamara himself being picked up for £50k (I think). It's early days I know but could Souttar start and stay in the XI if we play with a back 4? His passing is as good as Goldsons and looks an excellent defender albeit domestically. Not overly enamoured with a possible move to a back 3, its not like our current centre back pool is extraordinary. I'd be happier if it was a 4 at the back when defending and possibly a back 3 when in possession rather than 3 cb's from the outset, even then I think it would be unnecessary for 80% of our games. -

Find this saga a bit strange to be honest, it's been a couple of months since the strong links have started and we've had good rangers sources saying he's coming in to have his medical sooner rather than later yet he keeps on playing for LAFC. Definitely more than a whiff of the old BS about this. -

Tav needs his games reduced at the very least I'd say. Get Sterling and Devine sharing 15-20 starts between them at RB, no reason why they can't with what we're up against domestically most weeks. Yilmaz has to be LB/LWB for me, Barisic is fine if you want to swing in crosses all day but we need to get away from that. -

Aye he was good in those games. Like @Bill has said, he's got the ability but just hasn't got the mindset of an elite footballer. He shrinks and hides when he plays for us these days. It's a shame because he had the world at his feet, similar to Kent and Morelos (seems to be a pattern with that 55 side) and he geniunely could've played for a good side in a top 5 league. At his best he was probably worth £10m+, right now I'd take £2m and hopefully cover the costs of his wages. Maybe the Slavia abuse demotivated him and who's to say it wouldn't, I can't put myself in his shoes but the club backed him, Gio then backed him and Beale gave him a chance and he just hasn't taken it. I'd thank him and move on, there's been far worse players with far worse attitudes for Rangers. -
Forgive me for posting this to what is predominantly a Scottish football forum but the England U21's have just won their respective Euro's and the English youth sides have now won every major international youth tournament since 2017 from u17's up to u21's. I couldn't help but think of how the FA for all of their blustering and pomp have transformed the English national sides and how that could look for Scotland and more importantly for Rangers if the SFA made brave decisions. What do you guys think? It's not a boast but there's huge untapped potential within Scotland and the club I support in Rangers when it comes to homegrown talent, just look at how well Israel have been doing in recent years.

Didn't realise DataMB was free to use! I'll throw in 3 more I've seen linked, the young Dutch player looks like he would be good business. Might not be completely fair comparisons but Sparta aren't a top team in the Netherlands and Strasbourg are Ligue 2 so it's not a million miles away with Millwall doing well. -

To be fair we held on to Morelos 2 seasons longer than we should, maybe even 3. Could say the same about Kent and they both underperformed in the last 2 seasons. Kamara has been on a decline since 55, possibly because of the ramifications of the Slavia abuse and that's understandable but it hasn't been 'a bad couple of games'. He visibly shrinks when he plays for us now, I thought he was back during the UEL run but I feel that was the team playing for Jimmy Bell more than anything. £2.1m with a sell on is fair I'd say for a player who plays like he hates football. -

Take the £2.1m and run, a bird in the hand etc. £4.7m for a player who hasn't kicked his arse for 18 months and can't get a kick for his current team might be too much. -

I think it's roughly £1m to be fair, I was too broad by saying less than £2m. I think Beale mentioned that we couldn't get him for free until December? Not sure though. I think for the premium we're paying you get a player in for pre season and crucially, up to speed for the UCL qualifiers and later on the LC final, you can also move on other players with the assurance of having him in e.g. Hagi, Lowry, Lundstram etc whether it be loans or sales. He's also match fit currently, we saw what that did for Celtic when they initially brought in their Japanese signings.
