  1. I think Chris Sutton is the biggest c**t going but you can't argue with him calling him a serial loser. It's harsh but I agree. It makes me laugh people wanting Sakala punted for the two misses against Celtic when Tavernier has done far worse for far longer, even under and post Gerrard he's had some absolute shockers. Not even just v Celtic, the 2 Cup defeats in the 55 season still make my cheeks clench and he was half arsed in the UEL final as well. Maybe it's hyperbole but still, the only player I'd keep from the Gerrard/Gio era is Goldson, but here we are with Tav and Barisic as fullbacks and re-signing a crocked Balogun as 3rd choice cb. If you don't laugh you'll cry like.
  2. Took stock, watched it back and it really was just turgid. The caveat I can give though; and I know we talk about the surface but seriously, watching the game back that pitch wouldn't be good enough for a youth centre in the 90's yet alone for a top division. The run and bounce of the ball is comical. Saying that, it just shouldn't be this hard year after year against low block teams and I honestly think it's a mentality issue. Both teams were flooded with new signings and it pretty much came down to graft and concentration and we shat it and slept. Let's not write off the season just yet though eh.
  3. Big game and clean sheet from Butland could be a big foreshadowing for the season by the way. Pre game nerves kicking in haha.
  4. I'd hazard a guess at a fluid 4-4-2 with this lineup, with Dowell and Sima tucking in when defending and then a box in possession with Dowell and Lammers as the 10's. Could be wrong though.
  5. Guessing he's holding Cantwell back for midweek, sign of a good squad. Think this does pretty much confirm that Balogun is our 3rd choice defender then, which is a bit grim. Would rather Sterling. It is a VERY attacking bench, kind of like holding all the chips in poker and being aggressive and bullying your opponents, don't mind it. Looking forward to it.
  6. Anyone based in Ayrshire? What's the weather like at the minute? We probably want a slick, quick surface.
  7. Looking at the comments the jambos are pretty pleased with that signing. If he can get 2000-2500 minutes for this Hearts team I'd say it would be worth it, if he lights it up he could get 3000+ so here's hoping. With us being stocked with no 10's it's sensible, and if he has a blinder we can look to shift a couple on like Hagi or Lawrence (if he's still crocked).
  8. Well I think we can bin the idea of Balogun being 5th choice centre half eh, looking more like 3rd choice to be honest.
  9. It's an 'if' at the moment but if we do get £5m for Kamara and £3m for Sakala, plus the £2m Colak transfer and Tillman cancellation fee (bs?) That's £10m+ this summer with an outlay of £13-15m and big wages out the door as well. I'd say that's pretty excellent initially, obviously we won't know how good the signings are until the end of this or future seasons. The managers said the wages have stayed the same broadly but he's looking to trim the squad further, I'd go along with that.
  10. https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/clubs/50121--rangers/squad/ Squad for the UCL, unsure if that's permanent or if we can change it for the UCL proper. I imagine we can. Crunched the numbers and worked out that the average age of the squad is 26.4 years with the midfield and attack being averages of 25.8 and 25 and the defence being 28.1 years old (with less quality than the middle to front as well imo). Make of that what you will.
  11. I agree mate but Borna can't defend for toffee at the best of times, if we're susceptible to overloads down our flanks he's going to be murder to watch. Geniunely, apart from the 2 or 3 great deliveries out of 15 that he swings in a game he's an average full back. We can probably get by with these two but it's taking a gamble, especially if the manager won't give Yilmaz a concerted run in the team to actually see if he can make it, rather than in friendlies and dead rubbers (where he did well enough).
  12. Aye that'll be Borna first choice for this season then, absolutely f***in chronic. Same happened under Gio.
  13. So Tom Brady has invested in Birmingham City and it's big news around the place, just wondered if any of you would take that at Rangers and whether it works in terms of club exposure and marketing? We've seen similar deals with LeBron James at Liverpool and Michael B Jordan at Bournemouth, would we be above that? Feel free to fire in an A-Lister that you'd like to invest, maybe Virat Kohli with our partnership with India for example? Pie in the sky but I wouldn't say no.
  14. Hope he's on the mend mate, I don't know the man but if he's a supporter of Rangers I'm sure he'd love it. Hoping to pop in around the Morton game myself.
  15. Lundstram and Balogun at the back, jeez-o. We'll be bombarded from minute one. Play Souttar and King/Goldson. Goldson has previous of coming back from injury with little training time and doing okay so I'd be happy to see him. I still think we'll see a fluid 4-4-2 though, going from a flat 4 to a box to 2 holding and 4 upfront. Well, it would be my preference at least ha. Funny little story with Lewis Mayo playing for Killie and us struggling to fill the centre of defense.
  16. Wouldn't we have to reach the quarters or semi's of the UEL to match the prize money of getting to the UCL though? Surely the ideal would be qualify for UCL as third seeds, get third in the group and drop into the UEL? It's not easy but it's what we should aspire to do imo especially as it's the last season you can do it. With the UCL expanding from next season and it looking fairer to get to the last 16 (imo) we need to get as much experience as we can get, instead of making our bed in the second rate European competition. We were all aboard Rangers getting better and healing but as soon as we got a few spankings in our first season back in the champions league after going bust and being demoted to the lower leagues fans turned around and made love to the UEL. I just can't get on board with that. Tough it out. Fully agree on winning the league of course and keeping them down.
  17. I get the concern from some but if we can't get past Servette, with due respect, we shouldn't even be thinking of the UCL. But then again some of us want to bomb out of qualifying and dop into the UEL so maybe I'm in the wrong 🤷
  18. Guessing FGS is first goalscorer, I joined the forum mid season..do I need to do anything other than post a score and FGS in this thread? Kilmarnock 1 - 3 Rangers FGS Lammers
  19. Saw a Faroe Islands side guaranteed European football tonight, great story.
  20. That's hilarious. It didn't seem that much of a battering watching it though. I'd love to see the xG for the two sides.
  21. Does that guarantee them Europa? I don't know their history so maybe that would be big for them - otherwise I thought the celebrations were a bit wild to get to the 3rd round of qualifying. Still, I think them playing 90+ with 10 men does us a favour.
  22. We want Servette to go through after all the yards they've put in with 10 men.
  23. Pretty entertaining listening to the commentator, even if I don't understand most of what he's saying.
  24. Aye spawny free kick, 2-2 on aggregate so this would be going to ET and pens as is. Poor attendance as well, stadium looks half full. Is Servettes kit Spain-inspired does anyone know? Really reminds me of the kit Fernando Torres used to wear at his peak with the dark red and yellow/gold shoulders and sleeves.
  25. That link doesn't work but the section on that page which is labeled 'RTS Livestreams' gives you options and you can go from sport to the Genk match, tuned in now.
