  1. I always think Ridvan looks pretty stocky to be fair, he's definitely not a small streak of piss is he? Maybe by American standards he's slight like (no offence meant) and your athletes tend to be 6'4 and 220 lbs.
  2. Oh aye but it'll be like PSG winning the UCL, we all know they will win it. Although to be fair, Liverpool spent millions upon millions in the 30 years before winning the prem - maybe Chelsea are in the midst of a spell like that but just turbo charged to bat shit crazy numbers. Them and Man Utd seeing who can destroy the transfer market quickest with the signings of Enzo and Hojlund.
  3. Not sure how surprising Chelsea can be with the thick end of a billion spent in 2 years like.
  4. Was a toss up between Souttar and Cantwell for me, went with Todd just for setting the tone in that first half and essentially being the best player on the park during our best period. I really rate John Souttar and could definitely see him as a future captain, hopefully he has a clean bill now. Thought Butland had nothing to do apart from getting done by the penalty, he hasn't really put a foot wrong in his first 2 games.
  5. In hindsight, considering they had 7 or 8 first teamers out and were down to 10 for half an hour, it isn't that good a result at all. I'll take the win and the performance in the first half hour though. The numbers post game does show we dominated to be fair, hopefully we can build on this.
  6. Aahh I'm pleased enough, the dust has settled a bit and I think we were decent for the first half mostly. It's a slow process made Slower by big upheaval in the squad but I trust Beale and hopefully the players do too.
  7. To be honest it's the games like Hearts away last season that makes me back the manager rather than performances like this, with better (hopefully) players I think he can do something. Hopefully we can build on this.
  8. For the first 25 minutes I'd fully agree, it was at least better than Kilmarnock - and that's a pretty low bar. After that it was just okay imo and gradually got worse until it petered out. I haven't seen enough to get excited but I think that's down to how poor Servette were - Butland had a routine night apart from getting done by a penalty. I haven't seen anything new tonight which is the problem. Good win though.
  9. Oh aye these lot aren't UCL quality (neither are we to be frank). We should have put 3 or 4 on them tonight.
  10. I'd love to know how many crosses we put in in that game, it was like watching a tactic come to life in football manager for the last 30 ha.
  11. That's what was happening last season, rinse and repeat.
  12. Well put it this way, I haven't seen anything new from us in this game and when push came to shove we swung the ball in and sent our prayers with it.
  13. Martindale is going to go back to Livi with his scout report laughing by the way.
  14. Right, down to 10 men, make some proactive attacking changes.
  15. In fairness to Borna, when he's not being targeted and he gets space to cross he can be very good. It's when he doesn't get his quota of crosses and gets ran at that he looks like he has zero spatial awareness. I still think we need to move away from this 'cross and inshallah' tactic, the counters were promising and are a good indicator though.
  16. I know we're supposed to be in love with him like but Danilo hasn't impressed. Just don't come out and sit in, go and be proactive. This team don't care if they're losing by 1 or 2, they won't change.
  17. That's unforgiveable by the way, I'd be throwing punches in a Sunday league dressing room if my striker did that in the box. We're playing fairly well, a lot of it is shelling the box with crosses mind.
  18. Aye I think the days of setting and sticking with one system are gone to be honest. Would like to see a 4-4-2/4-2-2-2 with Cantwell and Lammers as the 10's and them tucking in as wide men but.
  19. Rangers 4-2 Servette FGS Danilo
  20. Ngl that would've been my XI, can't complain. C'mon lads!
  21. Aahh no worries, I'll fire mine in when the sheets are posted. Praying that Lundstram gets dropped like.
  22. Are the teams out already? Is there a deadline with these predictions or something?
  23. To be honest I think we're in a bit of a golden period of 'sh*thousery' and I think the players love it, I don't think coaches actively coach it per se but they won't discourage it either which is the problem. The players can't complain if the balls in play for 50 minutes and they're not active for 40 minutes in a match, it should be pushing 70 in play imo. Although, there's a wider point about how this stems from Guardiola and his 'revolution' and how teams who don't want to pass it up and down the line for 2 minutes are the doers of evil. Personally I think he's killed English football as much as he's revolutionised it; towels being banned in the EFL is pretty tragic, especially for fans of the EPL during the time of Pulis' Stoke and Delaps missiles. But aye, hopefully this style of football is just a cycle but if laws are being brought in to exacerbate it then it's permanent I think. The ball will be in play and not a bloody lot will happen with it, as is the way with modern football. Bit off tangent but.
  24. Are they actually first teamers though? 8 out of your first XI out? More than a whiff of bs. It'll probably be something like us v Celtic a couple of seasons back, they'll have a fairly strong XI and nothing on the bench..we laugh about that game but it was a pretty strong team to be fair. IF it is true, we should try and put some goals on them. I don't care if it's arrogance but if two thirds of your first team are missing you should be getting beat in Europe at this level.
  25. 2 up 20 gone. We'd get spanked off this lot.
