The Summer 2023 Rangers Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread
yuddie replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
We're stocked with no.10's or players who can start out wide and drift in, if we can loan him and double what we bought him for at the end of it i.e. 6m then how could you say no to that? I see this as a win-win situation for player and club. Especially with Tom Lawrence coming back and playing yesterday. -
That Moshiri is clueless, it's a shame for the fans really.
-
Voted for Souttar, wouldn't begrudge votes for Borna or Lundstram either. Butland had a gg and Raskin was brilliant in the first half as well imo.

Just caught sportscene... We complain about spamming crosses as our main source of attack but all Celtic did against St Johnstone is pretty much give and go/play a through ball down the sides and cut it back. Rinse and repeat. If we concede like that next week I'll be gutted. The narrative is that they missed chance after chance, well so do we but instead of cutting it back we swing it in early and from deep. Dessers today for example.

Got to put f***ing everything into the next two games now lads!

I mean, is Evertons next game against Sheff Utd a 6 pointer? Hilarious.

I've got a lot of time for Taiwo, didn't get a chance at Liverpool but grafted his way to the prem through loans and the bundesliga and now looks like he could be a 15-20 goal a season striker. Pretty much kept Forest up with his goals in the run in last season, the boy just needs to stay fit.

I've slammed Borna for his howlers but he had the left hand side locked down with Souttar today, fair play to him. I'd still say Souttar is my motm but wouldn't begrudge a vote for Borna at all. -

To be honest I thought we saw it out pretty well, apart from the one misjudged cross from Jack. -

I'll take that, thought we were winning every tackle and second ball and the press was there in the first half. Less so in the second but Souttar and dare I say Borna were brilliant in defense all day and Butland gets what it takes to be a Rangers keeper I think. Just got to turn PSV over in their own backyard, it's not for everyone... -

C'mon lads, good win today. Hopefully the surface is wet enough for quick play but not too wet to be boggy. -

You know the most impressive technically out of those teams was Red Star for me for the cost of their XI, PSV are up there but they've spent a lot. We should've got a draw away in Belgrade as well if it wasn't for a pity penalty. Also since Gerrard isn't Malmö the only qualifier we've lost? That's not bad going. I think we can do it in Eindhoven. -

Usually a good deck at County and they've played with an aggressive press this season even at Parkhead so I think we'll score a few. -
Anyone tuning into Chelsea v Luton? Looking forward to what Luton offer up, there's been some slanderous takes on their upcoming season haha.

Wasn't it something like 3m? To be honest, for a player who's never been a fixture in the side, just come off a long lay off and is down the pecking order in terms of his position on the pitch - this is very good business imo. Cantwell, Lammers, Dowell and Lawrence can all play his position as well as Lowry if he has a good loan spell. No brainer. -

Should think players like Danilo, Lundstram and Lammers will get a start. Maybe Dowell as well. -
The boys getting regular minutes for a top domestic side in Scotland, let's back him ffs. He might not be good enough for us but he can try his best to be and if he isn't he can carve out a career that 99% of academy players in the UK would dream of, he's just started a game away in Europe..how many can say that? I'd love it if our youth players propped up the Scottish game, because if that happens then invariably we'll produce our own for the team.

At least you're putting it out there mate, hopefully it's true. Is it loan to buy? -

Watched the game back and Ally sounds like he's still got a chip on his shoulder about the managers job, uber negative with the odd 'it's been a brilliant game'. I'll happily listen to him in the studio but he just can't commentate on Rangers games, he sounds so unsatisfied and exasperated every time. Shame that a lot of our ex-players are apologists. Other than that I think we can be confident going to PSV, most of their shots were outside the area and we made just as many good chances with less shots which speaks to how bad they are defensively. Let's go. -

Thought we came on strong in the last 10 mins, we've got the legs on them and their manager referenced our energy as well. Thank f**ck for Doc Waller. -

Aye I thought of the De Boers but Ronald was a midfielder wasn't he. Off the top of my head the closest I got was Colin McAdam and his brother who played for Celtic. Mate he was good enough to be mistaken for 2 keepers ha. -

Anyone know if the Harry Souttar link is concrete or not? There's something Struthian about having 2 Scottish (albeit an Australian international) brothers on both sides of the centre of defense. I'd quite like it. Does anyone know who our last brotherly CB pairing was? Would be interesting to find out. -

We're right under their skin by the way, De Jong losing it at half time and Veerman slaughtering us post match. I'm fairly zen about our chances because I think we can play and defend better. A lot of our players are inexperienced in Europe (Butland,Cantwell,Cifuentes, Raskin etc) so the manager is right when saying that this will be a building block for the future a la our first qualifying campaign under Gerrard. Encouraging I think. I can see what's happening, there's still some morons slating the team but some people love the misery.
