Absolutely this by the way. I've always said that I don't think the players under Gio either could do what he wanted or he couldn't break it down for them. It's a telltale sign that Beale is always exasperated saying 'we didn't get up to the ball' or things like it. He's said it a few times after an OF if I recall rightly. Whilst he's responsible for coaching his ideas and style, ultimately if the players go out on the pitch and can't/won't do it then you're f***ed. We need a big turnaround anyway.

It would look grim at that point to be fair, 7 points behind and 5 games in. My opinion probably would change but I still wouldn't like it if he did get the can. Just smacks of paranoia. I'll admit everything encouraging I saw pretty much solely came in the league last season. Even though we've lost 2 this season I think we can be consistent enough to win the league - fans won't like to hear it but young and inexperienced managers generally need time to do well e.g. Gerrard, Arteta. Even Brenda had an average CV early on until Swansea stuck with him and he was given time at Liverpool. So it's pretty much the potential I'm banking on, it's still not looking good though.

Aye that's the crux of it for me, the season is still there to be attacked - if we have a horror uel start and get papped out of the LC then it probably is terminal. Too early for me yet though.

Can't pretend I've seen his teams like but he's won the Sudamericana in Argentina, managed Sao Paulo and just won a treble in Qatar and got to the semi's of the AFC Champions league which is becoming more and more credible with each passing year by the sounds of it. I wouldn't even be put off by the amount of clubs he had in South America - that's pretty much the norm there, they hire and fire like it's going out of style and the turnover of players is mental. Just airing some thoughts to be honest. Wages could be a problem of course.

It's scant commiserations to Beale now but watching live I did think Roofe was 2 or 3 yards off of the pace of the game and looked to be running through treacle and watching back he was everywhere the ball had just been. That sub just isn't the stick to beat Beale with imo. The approach/setup/recruitment is though and it was criminal how he approached that game like we were away at the Bernabeau. I'm 50/50 on whether we should sack him - simply because the calls for Kevin Muscat are terrifying. That's a step away from hiring Harry Kewell. Fuck that.

To be honest I think they'll be dog shite this season and might just stay up because there are teams worse than them i.e the promoted sides. Luton and Sheff utd in 2 of their last 3 games of the season could be a blessing or a curse. Feel like it would be destination f***ed if they got relegated.
