  1. A lot of Brightons recruitment and business strategy is/was propped up by heavy debt owed to Bloom. They owe him £100's of millions. We have that benign investment currently - what we don't have is a financial package offered to us in our domestic broadcast deal that would allow our board to bite the bullet and invest in capital projects to turbo charge the club. That's pretty much why Bordeaux went bust btw, France are struggling to put together a decent TV deal and potential buyers, like Liverpool, decided the risk wasn't worth it. Bloom is a gambler, he started out on slot machines believe it or not - he saw the premier league riches and decide to roll the dice with his money and it's paid off.
  2. Or even put on workshops with the Princes Trust or other organisations that can help the youth - that kind of social impact would do a lot for the clubs image.
  3. Aye, they should push for up and coming bands to play there rather than tribute acts. A legitimate music venue to build a name for itself rather than a glorified Working Mens Club.
  4. Didn't it turn a profit in its first year/6 months? If we use it properly it'll be worth it in the long term imo.
  5. Just on this, I'd like to see an outside appointment as Chairman and CEO. We need a fresh pair of eyes, I'm a conservative when it comes to the running of the club as I think most of us are - so getting in a duo who work for the CLUB and not the different investors would be ideal whilst also retaining benign benefactors. Doubt it would happen, King has said in his recent quotes that he'd be against it.
  6. We do that at times during the build up with Barron mate. It's plain to see Tavs legs have gone though, he can't get up and down anymore and he was second guessing his every touch yesterday imo. It'll be interesting to see how Kasanwirjo gets on in that regard.
  7. For all you stat lovers, our xGA (expected goals against) over the last 5 games is at 0.81 per game. So for every match we've played we could expect to concede less than one goal. That includes aways at Tynecastle, Parkhead and Tannadice. That's not THAT bad. Game state has probably dictated the numbers mind. Bring it down to 0.60-70 and we'd be doing fine imo. 0.50 would be stellar. Although Butland would need to improve on the shot stopping front, I actually think Parkhead aside he's been fine this season - he had a howler at Celtic though.
  8. Which begs the question, why bring in Pröpper if you want to play a high line? Koppen signing more than likely.
  9. We were at our best when we were finding Barron regularly. He gets my vote. Souttar second for me, when he plays well he looks like a really good defender. We need to coax these performances out of him consistently.
  10. If we're patient and develop him properly Barron could be what we've been missing since Davo retired. High praise I know. I thought he dictated the game in the first half. First thought forward, if not recycle. My motm.
  11. Take that. We were poor in the second half though.
  12. Don Robertson can get tf. Awful, awful referee.
  13. Mate, English refereeing really isn't that much worse.
  14. What's that, 9 yellows? Never ever that type of game. You saw the same last night in the Bournemouth game, the fans haven't turned up to see you be the main man. British refereeing is so, so poor.
  15. This teams worst trait is always doing just enough. That's what's happening here.
  16. We need to keep letting Barron and Dio combine. That was our route to dominance in the first half imo.
  17. Thought we were decent enough that half. This team still doesn't have the concentration or mentality to keep it up for 45 though. I don't mind our shape when defending, hence why we've barely conceded a chance. Clement needs to get into them to up it in the second though.
  18. God almighty that's a hospital pass from Tav.
  19. Get the second before HT lads, it'll make the game so much easier. Let's see some hunger.
  20. Barron has been the tempo setter though, he's been brilliant.
  21. Aye there is that argument. There's also the argument over how many sessions has he had with the team? Clement would tell you that throwing someone on who has very little familiarity with the system and his teammates would be detrimental to the side. This isn't a unique view either, this happens regularly at the top level. I'm playing the devil here. I'd liked to have seen him but am happy enough with the reasoning given (will be given) as to why he's only on the bench.
  22. Hopefully not like. Let's face it, fans are raging because there's...what, 2 unpopular choices? The manager said he'd see if Bajrami is ready for Sunday, he isn't ready for today in his view and fans are STILL seething.
