This caller this morning on talksport is unreal, if he's at it it's an absolute pearler. They were doing mad shit like this during 55 too if you like an omen. They hate the board, manager and themselves - we need to kick on because you can't convince me that's a happy club.

Spot on with the XI I reckon, it's my preferred at least anyway. I'd give Danilo 60 then bring Wright on and put Sima up top - I just can't see Dessers being an impact sub at all but with how under cooked players are (Cantwell and Danilo post injury and McCausland a novice/young player) we might just have to bring him on. Sigh.

Tbh it's not signing players that have poor injury records that's the biggest red flag for me, it's the players who have good availability before coming to us breaking down as soon as they arrive. It must be poor preparation physically during the week surely? Clement hinted himself that it's about building strong muscles for the games.

Worth noting that the one season when our defense was exemplary since coming back up we pissed the league.

In fairness to @CammyF; and I am playing Devil's advocate here, if Tavernier had been putting down these numbers and performances for Celtic he'd have been lauded as the best right back in Scotland for decades and probably punted for 30m+. Hypothetical and far fetched of course because Celtic are fucking useless in Europe!

Reckon someone could set up a poll on this, to vote on whether they think our attack or defence is more important for us at present? Idk how to ha.

Celtics same stats this season for comparison in the numbers: xG For / Match 2.05 2.40 1.82 xG Against / Match 1.08 0.80 1.26 Scored / Match 2.3 2.5 2.17 Conceded / Match 0.6 0.75 0.5 AVG (Match Goals Average) 2.9 3.25 2.67 Clean Sheets % 50% 50% 50% Failed to Score % 20% 25% 17%

I wanted to ask the forum what you think is more conducive to winning the title from where we are at present, a tight defence or free scoring attack? Or is it a bit of both? Just some rudimentary stats for Overall/Home/Away xG For / Match 2.20 2.24 2.13 xG Against / Match 0.91 0.98 0.79 Scored / Match 1.9 2 1.75 Conceded / Match 0.6 0.83 0.25 AVG (Match Goals Average) 2.5 2.83 2 Clean Sheets % 60% 50% 75% Failed to Score % 20% 17% 25% How does that compare to what you've seen this season? Personally I think we score less chances than we should but defend pretty well as a unit this season, IF we can start finishing our dinner then we might have a chance..especially with how Clement has us doing in the metrics (it's early I know). Let me know what you think; like I said earlier on a different thread, I wanted us to cut out at least a third of our goals conceded number from last season this season or hit sub 20 and we're tracking in and around that which makes me think we've got a glimmer of a chance. Cheers.

Possibly, I think a lot of teams have analysts in the stands though so there will be eyes looking at the pitch from above. Ten Hag had a load of analysts high up v Barcelona last season IIRC. I wouldn't want the manager up there but I'd back seeing Davo or Alex Rae in the stands with the analysts then Clement and his assistant VDH pitchside. Fair debate to be had though - I can't imagine managers like Klopp or Simeone being able to watch whilst sitting down for 90 minutes mind.

Aye it's telling that managerial novices like Kompany and Maresca have absolutely pissed that league - and in Kompanys case subsequently come up and stunk out the prem. Thank fuck for McKenna for adding a bit of colour to the promotion charges this season. Hope Ipswich do it.
