  1. That would be on a par with the Goldson handball v USG a couple of years back if it was given. Sweet fa Davies can do with his hand at that distance, which is by his side. The Hart decision: meh, Raskin gives the jobsworths in the booth an option to review it and they did. Never enough force in that to affect the keeper but the officials bought it. Raskin should be smarter. I'm more concerned with how bad we were in creating open play chances tbh.
  2. Worth pointing out that the lack of internationals will be a blessing for Clement in regards to his pre season. It's an indictment of our recruitment and success recently that we've got so few though.
  3. This is a 2/3 season job under Clement. Invest in the first XI and squad and target the UCL quali - it will help fund the next few windows for this rebuild if successful. The manager got it right today imo - the players just have an inferiority complex v Celtic. Looking forward to what he can do next season. If he sorts out the injury issues and gets half a dozen successful Signings in then we'll do okay. That's me coping though haha. Motm Dio for me, Tav looks done physically in these games though..and if he's no use in loose play in the OF then why hold onto him?
  4. This dressing room needs therapy in regards to this fixture - we'd get slaughtered for doing it but we should bring in a sports psychologist. Cba with the VAR controversy, aye its bollocks but the cry arsing is tedious.
  5. I think Alfredo used to tbf, the cake being a victoria sponge.
  6. There's no chance Tav can make it through in 120 mins btw. He looked gassed after 30.
  7. Whisper it but Davies and Balogun have been excellent so far.
  8. That's it isn't it, in theory it's fine but we just haven't got our distances right at all.
  9. Balogun having a gg so far.
  10. Our shape and structure is an absolute mess so far.
  11. That statue is incredible btw. The detail and likeness is amazing.
  12. I'm not that downbeat about the lineup tbf. Dio, Raskin and Cantwell trio is what I would've gone for. Same as Balogun and Ridvan. The only thing I'd change is McCausland RW and Sterling RB.
  13. Aye he was a really good keeper. A hero for Blues with a Rangers connection would be Roger Hynd. Great defender down here. Also Barry will always be my hero, obvously for what he did for the teds but for me he was the best passing midfielder in the premier league when he was at the Blues - he played and won the league cup with a broken rib too. They've never replaced him - sadly neither have Rangers.
  14. Outside of Rangers a hero in my city (for the blue half) is Gil Merrick. From Sparkhill, played over 700 games for the Blues and played for England. He then managed City to their first major trophy against Villa in the League Cup. Also managed a win in the San Siro in 60/61 v Inter. You won't get that again in football - unless Tyrick Mitchell for Palace leads them to a League Cup win against Millwall in 20 years time.
  15. Aahh fuck it, I'm feeling it. Doubt I'll sleep a wink tonight. 0 reason for why I think we'll do it but I do.
  16. Fully agree. But there's something to be said for the club being shit scared of losing his 'brand' (idk how else to put it). They want to milk his goal scoring record for everything it's worth. They're not stupid enough to not know that he's probably the only player post 2012 that's in with a sniff of getting into teams before then. And they don't want to lose that.
  17. Tbf I've always given the manager the benefit of the doubt for having Sterling at RW to help cover Tav. But then surely you're just sacrificing an attacker in that case? If he's that much of an issue drop him. Which he is, and he should be. My team: Butland Sterling Balogun Davies Fraser Raskin Diomande McCausland Cantwell Silva Dessers Points of Contention: Tav needs dropped. Self explanatory. Balogun comes in if fit. Borna and Celtic, enough said. Silva actually did well at Sharkhead imo and deserves a start.
  18. If anyone is interested go and watch the CWC final between City and Fluminense, it'll give you an idea of what the ideal is like. Tbh I thought they were great to watch that game, albeit no poke.
  19. Tbf I've heard of relationism and Fluminese using it. I'm pretty sure Guardiola and Madrid incorporate aspects of it into their game too. Although Guardiola is still more positional than relationist. I'll link an article on it: https://gameinsight.sport/relationist-football-a-modern-approach/
  20. Bizarre decision tbh. If this was the Netherlands or the Austrian Bundesliga then I could understand giving him the can, but you're never ever going to win the Premier league when your squad age is 22. You won't see the best of this Chelsea squad for another 2 or 3 seasons if conventions around footballing maturity are true.
  21. Mental. Fergie would be turning in his directors box.
  22. Have the club explicitly come out and spoke about why we recruit so heavily from Belgium? For me we're 15 years too late in this regard.
  23. Saw someone mention that Utd were 8/1 for the win. Predict that to someone in 2008 and they'd have brought back lobotomy.
  24. It's managed to get Kompany the Bayern job by the looks of it. I do agree though.
  25. Would have fraser over barasic ngl.
