You know you're in too deep when you start getting the jitters for a pre season game in the Netherlands.
-
If it's a shapeless mess for the next few weeks then that's a bigger red flag than any recruitment struggles imo.
-
Me being the mug and optimist that I am bought the pre season package. I'll no doubt be thinking we can win the treble after today's score draw ha. Just want a bit of encouragement and a clear gameplan.

Clean sheet loyal.

I was all for preaching patience in this transfer window but that lineup has made my toes curl.

The only pledges I care about! A bit utopian but at least we know what the requirements and process is like. Pleased about the domestic talent, academy target and tapping into different markets especially. What you reckon? We just need to try and put it into practice now ha. -
Probably get to the final and get turned over by the French or Spanish. That no look penalty from Toney was outrageous though. Arsenal could do worse than signing him.
-
Aye Toney will be on soon probably. In Southgates defence though, some of the passing from England has been atrocious. The players need to dial in. It's been poor.

I've liked the look of him from what I've seen. Wonder what the fee will be? -

All pushes a narrative around our club. I'll always say that I prefer radio silence about our signings. A bolt out of the blue is ideal. For all his flaws, Ross Wilson had that for a wee while. -
There's probably a joke about Rangers playing brutalist football in there somewhere...
-
Shame mate, this friendly v Blues has come 30 years too late - you'd have loved Brum in the 90's!

'In Holland' being the key part of that. He's been poor outside of his home country. Shouldn't stop Dutch teams taking a punt though. -

What would you take for Cantwell? I'd deal on 5m tbh. Especially if we got him for less than 2m. -

Aye that's fair. I'm encouraged by the fact that there's a clear strategy in place this window tbf. -

Also it is worth mentioning that with the policy we're pursuing in signing promising young talent - we might not be stronger in the short term but it is very much a long term vision for the team. We do need to supplement it with some good experience right enough. -

Aye I get that, but we've got 2 months of the window left. I'll happily come on this site and say it was a disaster if we don't shift 3 or 4 senior players and bring in 5 or 6 to improve the XI. If Koppen has sounded out players that may not be able to come in for whatever reason for the next few weeks, but believes they are key to our plan then have a little patience. Signing a dozen players and shifting a dozen more in the first couple of weeks of the summer has hardly ever been done successfully at the top level - maybe if you're a part time outfit or something. The only one I can think of really is Chelsea under Abramovich all those years ago. What I DON'T like is the noise around our business, which leads to speculation and the subsequent 'bed wetting'. I'd rather 0 leaks with no idea of what's happening than the constant tripe we see said about our club. -

Seen a fair bit of bed wetting on socials about our window so far. Love a signing 🤝 hate the furore that comes with it. Hopefully the training has been good so far and Clement can instil a 'no excuse' mentality, because he'll need it with the Ibrox situation. Looking forward to seeing what Koppen and the manager can do for next season. Not much else to say tbh. -
Whenever I see Scamacca on screen all it does is remind me of when he banged in 43 goals for me on my Atalanta save - UEL and Italia Cup double yet still got snubbed for an Italy call up. Most fun I've had on Football Manager tbf, would recommend them.

That presser was brutal to watch. Football journalism, and sport journalism in general in this country is sub standard. To put it mildly. -

I get the sentiment but in this era of professional football with the athleticism required (some laugh watching our lads last season ha) and us also having 60 games a season we do need 5 subs. Using them properly is what we should be doing - managers have the opportunity with 5 subs to make some at HT without eating into the number of times you can make a change (3)...why not do it? I have a feeling Clement will be bang into the HT changes this season. Footballs headed towards early changes anyway imo, but that's a debate for another day. -
It's blue with trims of red. Apart from possible a white collar what's to complain about? I think it's decent, bit of a throwback to the early 00's as seems to be the trend recently (Euros kits!). Initial rating of 7.5/10 for me. Not as nice as last seasons but still good enough.

Agreed. Munn at 3rd choice for a season learning from Butland and Kelly before a loan at Glentoran next season makes sense to me. -

All fair. That's an attitude the club needs to bin if we're actually going to recover. The epitome of which was signing and playing old jobbers instead of the best young domestic talent in the country when we were visiting those fishmongers. The club and fans were desperate at the time so I get it but if ever there was a silver lining of being sent down the leagues it was the opportunity to reset and build an identity - we won't get an opportunity to do that over 4 seasons now without serious short term pain. Shame really. -
Could be the case that we play 4+ aways on the bounce because of the stadium too.
