  1. Still think we'll do this like..
  2. Worth saying that if it's unanimous amongst the fanbase that selections are wrong it rarely is disproven on the pitch. Clement has made some bizarre choices of late.
  3. Scott Wright is like a recurring verruca isn't he. Here's hoping! C'mon Rangers.
  4. Not to be THAT guy but McCanns goal contributions were fairly negligible compared to today's game. Better than Wright's mind but still, he very much was of his era. Sacrilege saying this but Cooper was similar, undoubted brilliance but when it comes to the numbers it's surprising how little he contributed. Zidane is another in that regard - was a no 10 for Juve and Madrid yet cracked 10 league goals once in his career for Bourdeaux. Different times. It's the lads in the 60's and 70's I'm always blown away by like Brand and Greig. More goals back then could be the reason. Jardine another one. Feel free to throw this out.
  5. Talk about bleak haha.
  6. Group stages were fairly grim aye. Thought we should've won in Lisbon though, which would've been a seismic achievement for a Scottish club. Coulda, shoulda, woulda. We've had a few big aways in Europe we've choked the win in.
  7. Have you not watched us in Europe the last 6 year? I have hope, not much but a wee bit. The fear is seeing that dejected performance though. Maybe you're right and I need to be a bit more Presbyterian about the ordeal.
  8. Same can be said for Maeda for them. Yet somehow he does a turn for them. I'm sorry for saying it @CammyF but the writing was on the wall for Tav when he started getting torn to shreds by Maeda. The guy couldn't hit a cows arse.
  9. The fear...it's all consuming.
  10. Aye, I think the whole squad is pretty thick between the ears tbh. Tom Lawrence ambling out of shape to press was giving me kittens, either sit in or sprint as one on a trigger. Nonsensical. What's worse though, a team of dunces or a manager who can't put across his message? Atm it's a shitstorm of both imo.
  11. Arsenal should be all over that mate. If Arteta is hell bent on poaching from the City set up then taking a player who actually is a world beater rather than a cast off makes sense. Seen Osimhen linked with Arsenal, I've always thought he's a prem player in waiting.
  12. Still better than oor Willie.
  13. Matondo might come into his own in this leg, pace makes defenders do funny things. That's a bastardisation of a Michael Holding quote but it's apt. And we lack it upfront. Funnily enough plenty of Rangers fans try and convince you that pace doesn't work in Scotland. Got to be one of the biggest myths going.
  14. Anyone else still waiting to see the game appear on Premier Sports? Checked this morning and it still isn't on there.
  15. Let's give these Ukrainians a pumping Putin never could. 3-1 the Famous. Anyone saying otherwise is on the deludamol. WATP.
  16. We've been trying to punt 2 thirds of the squad for the whole window. Everyone's for sale as it stands apart from new signings. Hagi Lawrence Cantwell Tav Dessers Davies Wright Dowell Matondo I think all on here would be okay with seeing those go. If we do even half of that list then we've done more than I'd expect.

    The Barron

Not to sound like Roy Keane but it was just nice to see a player full of desire and tenacity. Which tells you how starved we've been of it. I've half a mind that Cortés didn't fancy it all that much and the defence just kept backing off and backing off. Proactivism in football is a mindset, sadly we lack it bar the wee man we signed from *checks notes* Aberdeen.
  18. No shock tbf I'd be shagged after playing infront of that defence and a no 10 who isn't mobile.
  19. I went for Barron. It was between him or Butland for keeping them at bay and keeping the 0. Gave it to the young lad for a more than decent performance on his debut considering he was playing infront of a panicked defence and behind a no 10 that can't/won't put in the yards. Graveyard shift for the boy really, gets my vote.
  20. Eh, it's a good sport. I find it therapeutic. Strange as it sounds.
  21. Beale rightly gets slaughtered because he was given the keys by all accounts even if the club won't admit to it - reading between the lines at least. Gerrard was a lot more hands on than Gio I'd say too, especially in terms of outs. I'd argue him digging in his heels and refusing to sell post 55 was as costly as anything Gio has done. Let's face it though, Big Eck will always be the king of turning an underperforming team around and then getting his recruitment wrong when wanting to build his own team.
  22. Pretty much goes for most top level managers. Klopp didn't start firing until he bought VVD and Becker. Guardiola went through 100's of millions and 2 back fours and 4 full backs to get City to the dominant force they are now. Binned Hart, brought in Bravo, binned him and signed Ederson. It took Arteta 3 or 4 years to get to a point where the Arsenal fans could see the vision with him. As well as half a billion. There should be something more discernible, yes, but managers live and die by their recruitment success. Or lack thereof. Manchester United being a graveyard for coaches because of this as an example.
  23. To a far greater extent when Guardiola first went to Bayern the players were going home and screaming into their pillow for the first 6 months because they just couldn't grasp it. When they did they pissed the league. Now I'm not saying we'll do that, but here's hoping.
  24. Let's be honest though, it wasn't until Ange got a war chest in the January transfer window when we saw his style of play come to fruition. If we spend even half of what he spent in his first 2 seasons over the next 2 then our squad will look drastically different. As is we'll have to sit tight until then, can't really advise anything else other than backing the manager until he gets his own team.
  25. He did say it would take awhile for the players to get used to the automatisms. Wouldn't mind him having a sit down with Barrie or one of the tactical lads at H&H and going into detail (as much as he can) about this process and what it involves.
