  1. Our pathway into the first team is pathetic though. We should be farming Scottish talent Ajax style. If you generate 4x the revenue of the team in third but can't develop your own then wind up the academy man. This should've been the aim under Ally but the management on and off the pitch were scared stiff of wallowing in the lower leagues. Even young domestic talent too - Doig, Ferguson and Shankland should all be playing for Rangers and for a few years by now too. Those decisions post 2012 (lack of) are bearing out to this day. Rant over.
  2. He'll be accused of being a one eyed hun but he's bang on. Can't we levy 10-15% of our ticket sales every home game for the opposition or something?
  3. Looking forward to tomorrow. Nsiala LCB, Sterling RB and McCausland off the left is what I want. I can feel a good performance in the shit Birmingham air!
  4. Stats from fbref: Seems to be more of a workhorse than technician but seems tidy enough on the ball too. Just for clarification this is compared to players in the next 14 leagues e.g. 14 after the top 5 (I think). You'll see the metric named, the number/% per 90 and then the percentile. E.g. 50=top 50th percentile. The higher the better. 99 being the top 1% in that pool. Sorry I couldn't just screenshot it, I'm using my phone. 5. He's had one full season in senior football in fairness. I think he's actually a decent finisher when given time and space.
  6. McCausland has to start on the left surely? It's a pretty obvious choice, much like Sterling in midfield. Well, you'd think so.

    The Rangers

Aye I get that, it was merely a hypothetical comment on fan ownership. I'm happy enough with the current board (apologies!) but having a substantial fan group organisation that's taken seriously by the match goers as part of this board is no bad thing imo, I'd actually go as far to say it's essential with what's gone before. That's what I meant with Club 1872 potentially being a force for good, as you say though - agendas and club politics will always be king.

    The Rangers

Aye. It's a bit different than the club being owned by club members though.

    The Rangers

Do you mean the board being fans of the club? Or are you referring to MyGers? They reckon MyGers is one of the biggest Club Membership schemes in Europe, you don't get shares with it though. They could possibly do that if money is tight though, tie in a MyGers renewal with a share offering. Idk if that's ludicrous or not. I wonder if the take up would be any good.

    The Rangers

I agree, Club 1872 for instance could be a force for good if they were ran well. If there wasn't appetite for fan ownership when we went bust there won't be appetite for it now. The lack of fan interest in Dave King's shares made available to Club 1872 says it all really.
  11. Him, Cortés on the left and Cerny and McCausland on the right would be okay tbf. Would rather the Croatian though. Matondo, Hagi and one other leaving would help. The one other being Cantwell would be the dream.
  12. Nah only a few weeks, draws around the corner isn't it. I posted it because Hearts are playing tonight and it got me thinking tbf ha.
  13. Right, I've been down a rabbit hole coming up with all sorts of predicted figures depending on what sort of run we go on. Here's what we're going into the competition with atm: https://www.football-coefficient.eu/team/322-rangers-fc/ It's pretty healthy and I think we're pot 1. Imo we should aim for 5 wins to get into the play offs, that's accounting for 4 home games and 2 games against pot 4 sides. We probably want 6 to get top 8 though. It's the unknown though so go out and try and win all 8, we are Rangers! (And we love a Thursday night at Ibrox...hopefully!) Here's an explainer for the format: Now I've said before that missing out on the UCL does have the sliver lining of us being veterans of the UEL and getting into the KO stages. We are currently ahead of Celtic in the 10 year and 5 year coefficient and if we perform well in Europe this season we will more than likely pull away unless they have a blinder in the UCL. What needs to happen in the next few seasons is having at least one season, if not several, in the UCL whilst we've got priority for the share of money in Scotland. We could hit 100+ points in the 10 year ranking if we perform well enough in the near future, which would have us on a par with the likes of PSV and Salzburg. Which, imo, is what the aim should have always been the last few years. If that happens it is imperative we capitalise on it. Now this is a big old caveat which gets thrown out the window because I and everyone else want Rangers to win the league and be at the table of the best competition in football as well as the caveat that Celtic have all the honey whilst we plan accordingly with another UEL budget (which should be the case when we do qualify for the UCL btw). Lots of ifs, buts and maybes but I'm looking forward to the campaign, like the ones that have gone before it could be blessed relief from the domestic slog. Let me know what you think, I'll include a prize money calculator that I've been rinsing the last week - always look forward not back! Cheers lads. https://www.fotcalc.com/prize-money-calculator-post-24 Oh, also.. UCL= Uefa Champions League UEL= Uefa Europa league KO= Knockout And apologies to @Rousseau for the aneurysm, theres a lot of lofty hypotheticals ha.
  14. Also whilst I'm at it, if this goes deeper than simply just loaning players and we end up subsidising the partner club with different things then isn't just worth it to build on the community pitch at Ibrox and build a <10k stadium for the Women's and B team? Have a proper matchday complex/experience following the Rangers. Maybe I'm on the deludamol but if we're a serious club I'd like to think we've had discussions around this. The best option is still having the B team in the league system.
  15. Could we get them into the NIFL? We already play them in friendlies. If it costs a chunk of change upfront then it's worth it imo.
  16. Problem is if he hasn't got the pace running back the way he won't have it going forward. I'd much rather have him on the bench, Sterling at RB and rotate between Cerny and McCausland. But Dujon has hamstrings made of empire biscuits. Ideally Devine would be a level or two better than he is currently but alas, that's not the case.
  17. '99 for me. Probably my favourite Rangers strip too. I've got the treble winning tops framed going back to '78, struggle to find the ones prior in decent enough nick though.
  18. Ngl we do need a new 10. Lawrence will be the end of me if he's the pick for the foreseeable. Bloke can't or won't run.
  19. Don't mind it, not quite sure where those minutes are coming from though? Is there an obligation? More importantly who would co-operate with us? Partick? Ayr? Falkirk? They'd all kibosh it. Unless we promise to invest in these clubs in exchange, money talks after all. Then I could see it happening. At this point just go and buy Darvel and get them flying up the leagues.
  20. Seen a few say using him as a make weight for the linked Fiorentina winger would be smart business. Hard to disagree either.
  21. So he's missed 18 games in 6 years? Fucking sign the boy, that's as good as you'll get these days. That's missing, what, 3 games a season in a 50 game season? Can't sniff at that.
