  1. In what way are they investors? What do they bring to the board, what are their skills, areas of knowledge, their expertise?
  2. So they have your support then, you'd be happy with them owning a large stake in our club would you?
  3. Is that your over-riding criteria for being on our board then? I've seen you post similar about Green too, you're not alone there is a constituency out there who believe 'a well he put up the money' is a reason for supporting someone. I find it an odd view. Tell me, if Dermot Desmond or David Murray decided to buy a big chunk of shares would your response be 'fair play to them'?
  4. 6-2 final score. Ryan Hardie scored five of Rangers goals, he's a tall number 9 and the best player on the pitch. Looked too slight for the seniors though, in my uneducated opinion. Other boy who caught the eye was a midfielder called Junior Ogen. It wasn't Clydebank's first choice team, a mix of past players and current players but they were all men, the Rangers side looked like boys compared to them. Sad to see one of the Rangers players stretchered off, it wasn't a dirty game although it was competitive if you know what I mean. It wasn't even a foul the boy was injured in, just a strong 'Junior fitba' tackle. I'd guess the crowd was about 1,000, not bad for a driech evening.
  5. 5-1 to Rangers at half time. Hardie has scored four of them.
  6. I've not heard that. It's not something I'd be in favour of either.
  7. This seems to have slipped under the radar. I believe it is our under 20 side who are playing Clydebank tonight in a testimonial for Mark Hailstones, the best named Scottish player ever. The match is at Holm Park, Yoker, I'm guessing the kick-off is 6.30 or 6.45. Holm Park is a great traditional Junior ground (that's a euphemistic way of saying it's old and very run down) and the thought of watching Rangers play there is quite exciting (for me that is, I guess if you live in Inverness or Bermuda you couldn't care less). As I said it's not getting much publicity however it is mentioned on the Clydebank website - http://www.clydebankfc.co.uk/web/ I might pop along if I can get away from work in time. Anyone else going?
  8. I'm not sure Frankie. There has been plenty of stuff published that was dismissed by many Rangers supporters initially that unfortunately turned out to be true. I well remember the Vanguard Bears guys backing Craig Whyte long after it was dawning on the rest of us that he was a wrong-un for example. There are many examples of this, a visit to RangersMedia of late has been an eye-opening experience. D'Art makes an interesting point about objectivity.
  9. I did the same, and my Dad never lets me forget it either. I agree, I think Daly is a great signing, a real leader on the park too.
  10. My twins have their first day of school tomorrow, they aren't tiny, helpless mites anymore. No matter how small they start off they catch-up eventually. Enjoy your time with them, they grow up fast, particularly twins when you simply don't have a spare minute. I actually think it's the inaction of the SDM years that's created a lot of the militancy we see now. People are mistrustful of our board and with good reason. Ironically I think McColl is actually doing what you say you were doing in SDM's time. He's not trying to takeover the club he's warning the support to be vigilant and asking for a more balanced board. That strikes me as hard to argue with.
  11. The apostrophe in my signature isn't displaying. When I made my last post I wasn't taken back to the forum, instead the page simply hung although the post went up okay.
  12. I'll echo the 'good to have it back' vibe. A short visit elsewhere is enough to remind me why I haunt Gersnet, some depressing posters out 'there'.
  13. It seems fairly clear he is urging the board to accept the changes without an EGM.
  14. It seems proportionate and it leaves you in little doubt what Walter Smith thinks of the most of the protagonists. I'm sure someone will blog soon how Smith is being manipulated and Green only wants to sack McCoist and appoint Guardiola on a pro bono contract.
  15. Try this one - http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1rlouae
  16. I thought you preferred the measured, thoughtful approach as well. Can't win with you it seems!

  18. You know I'll accept two wrongs don't make a right. But with Green making statements about the team within hours of becoming a consultant Ally clearly wanted to draw a line in the sand. There can be no doubt what McCoist thinks of Green now, as supporters that's important. I don't care what Mhanks think. We've been washing our linen in public for years now, I wish we'd stop too, but I can understand why McCoist felt he had to respond publicly on Saturday.
  19. C'mon. We go round in circles, every thread goes the same way, it becomes very frustrating. I've said that to you in the last few days and was happy to explain why in reply to your PM. I've read some fairly robust and heated debates on here in the last week or so, but they were debates with back and forth, points and counters.
  20. Yes. It leaves no room for ambiguity.
  21. You owe me a new laptop!
  22. Why, he only said what many of our fans have said over the summer...!
  23. Really, you're a qualified psychologist now. Speaking about the players is McCoist's business, not Greens. Green had no business doing it and earned his rebuke. Your hard-on for Ally and your unquenchable admiration for Green are meeting in a perfect storm here.
  24. Yes, both gave public interviews, what part of that are you struggling to understand? Green shouldn't have spoken publicly about the side, he was playing to the gallery, as ever, and as ever some of the gallery like what they hear.
  25. You seem to be struggling to understand what roles people have, how those roles affect what they say and the meaning it carries.
