  1. I missed us taking part in the CL, even the theme tune. But this season has shown that the gulf between the haves and have nots is getting larger and larger. This campaign was hideous and painful, certainly not entertainment. I find most theories of how, why and who is responsible are no more enjoyable than the defeats we endured and they only serve to divide us. But we must go back if only to achieve the odd victory in a competition that we have become a whipping boy in. One of the halcyon days of my life was watching Rangers beating a star studded Parma team in the CL. I want to see our great club working towards giving us days like that again. WATP
  2. The DoF identifies and signs players not the manager. Gio is a coach and is there to coach the players available to him. He cannot speak out against the board, or burst down their door.
  3. I'm still behind Gio 100%. I do not believe anyone could do any better with the players who were available. WATP
  4. If The Gers are at there best then we might get something from this game, but a five goal advantage seems very unlikely.
  5. Sakala. The Man from Zambia's best game for the Gers yet.
  6. I was wondering if anyone else was enjoying Miguel Almiron out scoring fancy pants Jack Grealish as much as me. Almiron 7 - Grealish 1
  7. Sign Gio for at least a decade.
  8. Great game today. The sheep goal should have been chopped off & the "Duk of Dive" booked. If we carried some luck it would have been lambs to the slaughter ! Ha ha
  9. Given a decent squad Gio will be great. What he's done with the squad we have (which reminds me of Brooke donkey sanctuary) proves it imo.
  10. The second half was watchable. Good performance from young Ridvan, and a great learning experience for young King. Unfortunately we are just miles off this level of competition. Our Captain was as bad as I've ever seen him. Thought McGregor could have saved the header. Overall, I don't feel too gutted by tonight's defeat though.
  11. C'mon The Gers. Have a go, why not. WATP
  12. Difficult one, but I'd go for Malik Tillman.
  13. A fine, well balanced article. Thank you SBG
  14. That is why I blame the players and not the manager. And why I think another manager will suffer the same.
  15. Investment is the only way out of this corner we are currently in. What do us Bluenoses want in the near future. Some want a new manager (not me), Some want the stadium made larger, some want the team overhauled (me), we all want to be in a position to compete with big european clubs. Whatever you want to see costs money and our board will not, or cannot fund it. The alternative to no investment is more scary to me.
  16. I'm still convinced it's the squad that's pish. I'm still behind Gio 100%
  17. I am 100% behind Gio. He cannot kick the ball for these old, inconsistant, oft injured players. Some find his demeanor with the press too laid back. He cannot be without the necessary teeth in the dressing room. He captained the Dutch squad to runners up in the 2010 World Cup when it included characters like Van Bommel, Kuyt, Sneijder, Van Perise & DeJong. On talksport yesterday Neil Warnock stated that he thought that Gerrard was under the belief that he got out of Rangers at the right time. What does that say for what Gio was coming in to. The director of football role is something I would be more likely to point the finger at. The strategy & direction the club is moving in should be relayed to us the fans. The transfers have also been questionable to say the least.
  18. I still believe in Gio, the players, not so much.
