POLL REMINDER: Board Member Affirmation A reminder to members that our current poll will close at midnight on Tuesday 23rd October. If you have not yet voted then please take the opportunity to do so prior to this time. The original poll email is copied below. The next stage in the election process is the affirmation of any existing Club 1872 board members who wish to seek member approval to continue for another term. The Club 1872 constitution allows for up to one half of the serving board to seek affirmation for another term. Under the changes just voted through by members, this means that up to two existing directors can seek affirmation. Following discussion amongst the existing Club 1872 board, it has been agreed that Joanne Percival and Euan Macfarlane will put themselves forward for affirmation by members. Any other existing board members who wish to seek another term can present themselves for election once applications open in the coming days. If affirmed, Joanne and Euan will serve a three year term on the Club 1872 board. Should they wish to continue beyond that time they would have to submit themselves for election in line with the Club 1872 constitution. Joanne and Euan have prepared the following statement to members in support of their affirmation. "With over 18 months’ experience of working together as part of a team of volunteers, and with the support of our fellow Club 1872 Directors we are delighted to take this opportunity to submit ourselves for affirmation. We have served together as Directors for the past year, overseeing a major campaign that led to the organisation investing £1m directly into Rangers through the purchase of shares. Club 1872 remains the second largest shareholder in the club, an achievement we’re both very proud of. In March we took on the responsibility of jointly managing the Projects Working Group, and have since delivered two projects - the purchase of an adapted road vehicle to assist supporters with mobility difficulties, and the funding of a Walking Football programme in partnership with the Rangers Charity Foundation. It has been a pleasure to work alongside the Club 1872 members who volunteer on that group, and we are currently in the process of assessing more projects to submit to the wider membership for approval. It is our hope that with members’ support we will be given the opportunity to continue building on the strong working relationships we’ve developed within the Rangers community, including the Rangers Charity Foundation and RYDC. This would allow us to continue progressing the work we’ve started on potential projects and community engagement; we are in the process of developing a formal intake model to allow supporters to communicate more effectively with the club through Club 1872. During the affirmation vote we will continue to carry out our duties as directors. Should we be affirmed, we will maintain our commitment through the election process which is due to take place in the coming weeks. We believe this would bring stability to the organisation during a process that requires a great deal of administrative and practical input. The affirmation process was included in our constitution to give members the opportunity to ensure the organisation doesn’t suffer the disruption caused by a whole new board coming in. We believe we have the knowledge, skills and commitment to provide stability and continuity over the coming weeks and years. We thank you for your support over the past year and your consideration at this time." We would ask you to vote by clicking the link below and logging in to your account - you will then be automatically redirected to the poll. The poll will close at midnight on Tuesday 23rd October: VOTE HERE Club 1872

Durrant was a class footballer but not the brightest bulb in the house. That he thinks making that comment is smart shows his lack of intelligence, although we have some fans who would lap it up including a couple on here.

PRESS CONFERENCE | Steven Gerrard & Andy Halliday | 19 Oct 2018
BEARGER replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Aye he’d handled the sneaky question to Haliday with ease, you can see the contempt he has for some of the press. -
I see that tickets that Aberdeen sold in the east stand have been cancelled and their fans relocated to south stand.

SPFL cut Aberdeen's cup semi-final ticket allocation Daryn MacRae 18 October 2018 The SPFL have reduced the size of the Dons' Hampden section after poor sales. Reduced: Aberdeen's Hampden section has been reduced. SNS Aberdeen have had their ticket allocation for the League Cup semi-final with Rangers reduced by the SPFL due to poor ticket sales. Originally, the Dons were allocated 20,300 tickets for the Hampden showdown but that number has been reduced as the Pittodrie side have sold just over 9000 tickets to date. As a result, the SPFL have taken back Aberdeen's section of the East Stand, with some supporters now needing to be relocated to the South Stand instead. The Dons say they still have 5,500 tickets to sell, with access to more available if the requisite demand can be demonstrated in the coming days. A statement on the club's website said: "Despite strong initial sales, particularly from our supporters' clubs, overall ticket sales for the match have fallen short of the demand expected. "Given current sales figures, with the SPFL recording less than 100 being sold by Aberdeen FC today, the SPFL have now taken back certain sections of the East Stand. "The focus now quickly turns to building on the tickets that have been sold to fulfil the remainder of our allocation and ensure that the team walk out to a wall of noise from Dons supporters in attendance."

Neil McCann: Dundee manager leaves role after 18 months in charge 16 minutes ago From the sectionDundee 6 Sharethis page Neil McCann had been in charge at Dundee since April 2017 Neil McCann has left his role as Dundee manager with the side bottom of the Scottish Premiership after seven defeats in eight games. McCann, 44, had been in charge at Dens Park since April 2017. A run of six straight league losses ended with victory at Hamilton but another defeat followed at home to Kilmarnock on 6 October. The Dens Park side also lost 3-0 to Championship team Ayr United in the League Cup. Dundee, who have also relieved assistant manager Graham Gartland of his role, return to league action away to Livingston on Saturday following the international break. The club said in a statement: "We have explored alternative options to support the management staff recently but unfortunately these did not come to fruition. "We would like thank Neil and Graham for their efforts while in charge and wish them all the best for the future." McCann, who had two spells at Dundee as a player, took over from Paul Hartley with the club sitting in the relegation play-off spot and steered them to the safety of 10th in a five-game spell as interim manager. He then performed a U-turn on his decision to return to his previous role as a television pundit, finishing ninth in his first full season. Thirteen new players were added to the squad in a major summer overhaul, including Kenny Miller after the veteran striker's brief spell as Livingston player-manager. But results were disappointing and the side have struggled to find the net so far this term, scoring just five so far in the league.

I’m not saying we have great players but I would bet my pension that our players are better man for man than the Israelis. Thats the level we are up against and failed miserably due to a manger playing players out of position, picking wrong players etc.
