Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos 'did not breach anti-doping rules' after Champions League final 1 hour ago From the sectionEuropean Football Sharethis page Ramos has won the Champions League four times with Real Madrid Real Madrid have denied captain Sergio Ramos broke anti-doping rules after the 2017 Champions League final in Cardiff. The German news magazine Der Spiegel claims the Spain international tested positive for anti-inflammatory drug dexamethasone, which is only banned if testers are not informed of its use. Der Spiegel reports doping control officers were told Ramos, 32, had taken a different anti-inflammatory ahead of the final. Uefa accepted an apology from Ramos. The player blamed the club's doctor for the mix-up. Real Madrid said in a statement: "Ramos has never breached the anti-doping control regulations. "Uefa requested timely information and closed the matter immediately, as is usual in these cases, after verification by the experts themselves." The doctor, in a letter to Uefa seen by Der Spiegel, said he had accidentally written the name of a different drug on the doping report after the match as Ramos was being tested. Testers were told Ramos had injections of betamethasone in his left knee and left shoulder, which is also banned by Wada, rather than dexamethasone. Both drugs, which are similar anti-inflammatories, are permitted under World Anti-Doping Authority (Wada) rules if they are declared at the testing stage. Der Spiegel said the unnamed doctor from Real Madrid had noted down the wrong drug in the doping report following the game because of the "euphoria" felt from winning the title, and the fact Juan Carlos, the former King of Spain, and the country's prime minister had visited the doping control station to see Ramos. Real Madrid beat Juventus 4-1 in the final and Ramos played the full 90 minutes. A letter from Uefa, seen by Der Spiegel, said it was "very likely" the player and the doctor had committed "an administrative mistake". "In the future, we ask you and your team doctor to be utmost cautious when completing the doping control form and more precisely the declaration of medication," the letter said, according to Der Spiegel. In a statement, Uefa said: "Uefa strongly and categorically refutes unfounded allegations it has covered up positive doping results. "All Uefa doping control cases are conducted in full compliance with the Wada Code."

By talkSPORT23rd November 2018, 12:25 pmLiverpool starlet Dominic Solanke is set to join Rangers when the transfer window reopens in January.Solanke, the forward, has failed to make an impact in Jurgen Klopp’s team this season, being reduced to Under-21 football and an appearance on the bench for Liverpool’s EFL Cup defeat by Chelsea in September.1Solanke has been limited to playing youth football for both club and country this seasonHe was linked with a loan exit from Anfield throughout the summer, with Rangers – managed by Liverpool great Steven Gerrard – allegedly wanting to take the 21-year-old to Ibrox. And it now appears the Gers have got their man as they are in pole position to sign the youngster on loan when the transfer window reopens in just over a month.Crystal Palace are among the Premier League clubs who have also taken a look at Solanke, but Rangers look set to wrap up a deal for the former Chelsea player.

I stopped going in 2012, decide that all my football money would be spent on Rangers. Still like to see the team win. What team I supported never came up, like the Hibs fan you mentioned there’s always a couple of roasters at every game including Ibrox. -
What new proceedings is he on about?

If they're not in attendance I would think that the Boys Club stuff may not be so vociferous from our side. One things for sure it has nothing to do with fan safety.

BBC Scotland has agreed a deal with the Scottish Professional Football League to extend its coverage of the Scottish Premiership and Championship to 2025. Live television coverage of Championship games will begin early in the new year. There is also an extension to existing radio coverage, as well as an enhanced digital offering and TV highlights. "We are thrilled to extend our partnership with BBC Scotland," said SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster. "They have been at the forefront of ensuring that fans of Scottish football are able to follow their teams throughout each season. "The SPFL deal is a significant addition to BBC Scotland's existing sports portfolio which includes the enhanced Scottish Cup deal," Doncaster added. The Championship matches will be broadcast live on BBC Scotland's new channel in a regular Friday night slot. This will commence from this season, and cover next season, once the channel is officially launched. BBC Scotland to show 11 Scottish Cup games per season Steve Carson, head of multi-platform commissioning at BBC Scotland, said he's "delighted" to have agreed the terms. "We know there is a huge appetite for Scottish football amongst the audience and these deals will allow us to bring them more action than ever before from the top tiers of the game," he said. "It's great news for fans of the Scottish game and we're looking forward to delivering a multi-platform package of high quality coverage across TV, radio and online." What's included in the deal? Up to 20 live matches from the Championship on television across seasons 18/19 and 19/20. 160 live matches per season from the Scottish Premiership on BBC Radio Scotland to 2025 TV highlights will continue to be available across BBC free-to-air services until 2025 Includes the right to broadcast on the BBC's digital services BBC ALBA will also broadcast one deferred Premiership match each Saturday evening, with live matches from the Irn-Bru Challenge Cup and the Championship / League One and League One / League Two play-off finals for three seasons from 2020/21. Among other broadcast deals agreed by the SPFL, Sky Sports will broadcast up to 48 Premiership live matches per season, as well as up to six Premiership / Championship play-off matches, for five seasons from 2020/21. Premier Sports will broadcast between 12 and 16 League Cup live matches and highlights per season.

https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/3503540/spfl-plans-league-three-highland-lowland-colts/amp/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter&__twitter_impression=true SPFL ‘draw up plans’ to create League Three with Highland League and Lowland League sides playing alongside colts teams The SPFL have reportedly already circulated a draft proposal among the relevant clubs and are set to discuss the potential set-up at a meeting in the coming weeks By Gary Taylor 17th November 2018, 6:22 pm Updated: 17th November 2018, 6:23 pm THE SPFL are drawing up plans to create a new League Three, according to reports. The Evening Express claims a ‘fifth tier’ would involve a 12-team setup comprising of four sides each from the Highland and Lowland Leagues. A further four colts teams would apparently round off the league structure. The SPFL are said to have circulated a draft proposal among several clubs. And the matter will reportedly be further discussed at a meeting of all the relevant sides in the next few weeks. The winners of the Highland and Lowland Leagues face each other in an end-of-season play-off to decide who faces the bottom-placed League Two club, under the current system. Cove Rangers, Brora Rangers and Buckie Thistle have all been unsuccessful in their promotion dreams since the introduction of the play-offs in 2015. Edinburgh City are the only club to move up into the fourth tier of Scottish football so far. The creation of a League Three would reportedly see a similar play-off structure to the one used between the Championship and League One, and League One and League Two, introduced. The eventual champions would therefore be promoted to League Two with the second, third and fourth-placed teams going into promotion play-offs.

It’s amazing that 15.9% of the population have more votes than the remaining 84.1% and they all vote the same way, incredible. Something should be done about it. And when you think about it the 15.9% is not entirely made up of Irish decendents. -

Found this, not sure how accurate costs are. Cost to follow Football in the coming seasons per year Sky Sports - £336 BT sport - £336 Premier sports - £120 Season ticket - £400 £1192 per year How much of the £792 annual subscription fees per supporter gets invested back into Scottish Football? Most will go straight to English football.
