I was just making the point that this group will win nothing. Obviously if we strengthen we should improve, although I would think it would need more than one or two. As an aside, does anyone think Coulibaly is better than Docherty? We’re playing a loan player in place of a decent young prospect we have sent out on loan.

Got one ok, thanks. My son was up from down south.

Obvious as the nose on your face, this group of players will never win us the league. Too many not good enough, some have gone backwards since the start of the season e.g. Coulibaly.

Watching that today my thoughts were square pegs in round holes. SG does not seem willing to change his tactics to who we have available. Why Hallday at LB when we have LW sitting on the bench? Halliday was reasonable today but did get caught out of position a few times where a regular LB would not. We have no guile in midfield. Why did SG wait so long before making changes? Their goal was coming. Why was Goldson allowed to come back out after the break? He limped back onto the pitch. -

Griffiths out of football indefinitely with gambling issues
BEARGER replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
CRAIG FOWLER Published: 15:16 Friday 21 December 2018 Leigh Griffiths has hit back at online critics with a strongly-worded post on his Instagram page. The Celtic striker posted a meme which read: “Never kick me when I’m down because when I get back up... you’re f****d.” Griffiths is taking a break from football to deal with “ongoing issues” away from the pitch. He has received the full backing of his manager Brendan Rodgers, while the majority of the Scottish football community has been supportive of the player. However, there have been detractors on social media, most notably former SPL chief Roger Mitchell who tweeted his belief that Griffiths had to take responsibility for his actions. Leigh Griffiths' Instagram post. Griffiths thanked his supporters in a previous message, which was shared by Celtic’s official websiteRead more at: https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/teams/celtic/celtic-leigh-griffiths-hits-back-at-critics-with-social-media-post-1-4847621 -
Thursday, 20 December 2018, 12:00 by Nick Thomson 14214 RANGERS are to play host to Finnish champions HJK Helsinki in a friendly match on Sunday, January 20 at Ibrox Stadium. The match, which will kick-off at noon, was agreed upon the transfer of Alfredo Morelos from HJK to Gers last summer, and the timing will provide a good warm-up for Steven Gerrard’s side ahead of their return to league action at Kilmarnock three days later. Helsinki will use the game as part of a short training camp as they prepare for the 2019 Veikkausliga, with the Finnish top flight running as a summer season. They ended last season with a record 29th title win and are the only Finnish club to have competed in the Champions League group stages and Europa League group stages, their last qualification for the latter being in 2014. Ticketing information for supporters will be communicated in due course. https://rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/gers-to-host-hjk-helsinki/

Dundee United are pleased to announce the purchase of a controlling stake in the Club by Mark Ogren, a US-based businessman. Mr Ogren has acquired 85.61% of the issued share capital in Dundee United Football Company Ltd previously owned by Mike Martin and James Fyffe. Mr Ogren, whose business interests span oil services, software and real-estate becomes the Club’s new Chairman with Mr Martin stepping down both as Chairman and board director. Mr Fyffe and David Dorward remain directors at the Club. The result of several months of discussions, this acquisition provides Dundee United with the strong financial foundations required to support the Club’s football ambitions, specifically a return to the Ladbrokes Premiership. Mr Martin said, “Throughout our discussions, I was impressed by Mark’s passion for sport in general and his vision and ambition for Dundee United. He has developed a keen understanding of our rich history, our values and traditions, the importance of our community role and the passion and loyalty of the supporter base. “I feel privileged to have been Chairman at this great Club and I am grateful for all the support and assistance given to me throughout that period. I leave with confidence that Dundee United’s future is in very good hands.”

That’s the one I mean, I’m in main stand so gave reference from there. Aye he was slower than a week in the jail.

Sorry to here about Number_Eight, always liked his posts when I was on FF. When did he die? Sat with him at a RST dinner a good few years ago.

Just that I would have thought his choice of assistant would be more involved on tactics on match days. But obviously not.
-
How could it be McAuley? He played well, but.

It seems that it’s always MB who comes out to discuss with Gerrard during games, very very rarely Gary McAllister assistant manager.
